Arthur Hooper's is a stylish restaurant overlooking Borough Market. We've infused the spirit of the area’s tradition that allows visitors to easily sample fresh food from local suppliers and wine from all over the world.
Our menu is inspired by fresh nutritious ingredients and flavours, sourced from local market suppliers including Neal’s Yard, Cannon & Cannon and Bread Ahead.
Our charming and cosy first floor FRUIT & VEG private dining room is available for hire throughout the day. Perfect for business meetings, product launches, workshops or intimate gatherings with friends and family.
My partner and I had a fantastic experience at Arthur Hoopers; the food was the delicious, the atmosphere was great and the staff were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend!
Perfect place for a catch up or a date - lovely staff, good ambience but quiet enough to chat
Food was really good. Staff very friendly and attentive. They forgot one of our side dishes and immediately rectified it said no charge for it and also a free liqueur. Had a good buzz about it but not massively noisy.
I do not think as 60 somethings we are the clientele this restaurant prefers. We were seated in an out of sight corner, were overlooked much of the hour or so we were there, and were ignored when we asked our courses be spread out so that we could enjoy them slowly. Once we put our orders in, everything arrived quickly, with no chance to finish one item before the next appeared. If you are a young diner, you may enjoy this restaurant more. The food is good and the atmosphere lively.
Nice food and good for tapas style food. The selection of cured meats and cheese are delightful. Will return .
Classy wine list and we had fish perfectly cooked and very fresh - great value for money and attentive staff. Will def return soon!
Great food and service, and didn't feel hurried off the table, even thought it was a Saturday night. Great relaxed atmosphere and lovely tapas style plates
Great new meal options, being looked after by friendly front of house staff. Good wines, what more can you ask for....
A great meal - especially if you want to try several small plates (four plates for two of us was plenty for lunchtime - and great service. My only slight gripe is that the 90 minute time slot was a little tight - 120 minutes would be preferable.
Great little cosy place close to the bustle of Borough Market but quiet enough to escape it if you need some time out. Team there were very good and we felt relaxed and welcome at all times. Food was delicious - really good mix of veggie and non, all of it very tasty. Such a great spot for lazy lunch that doesn't feel corporate. Keen to get back there for dinner and to work our way through the impressive wine list!
Little restaurant with amazing food and fantastic service.
The bar and waiting staff were excellent, just the right level of attention. Loved the tapas style menu in particular the cheeses and cured meats, the cocktails were pretty special too.
Really enjoyed sitting here, drinking wine and slowly snacking our way through their menu for a few hours. Brilliant, friendly staff, a lovely calm atmosphere, lots of delicious treats and decent prices especially considering the location! A definite favourite. A glass of date liqeur with a side of dessert is not to be missed.
The food options were excellent. Really tempting salads with amazing combinations in them, great fish, meat and pasta options and a lovely selection of cheeses. Service was warm and thoughtful. Great place!
Fairly limited menu options but excellent food and different.
The service here is just outstanding. Pretty convinced that the food and wine is even more delicious because of it!
First time at Arthur Hooper's and will definitely go back. It was fab from start to finish. Superb food and great value for money.
Our second visit with a different group of friends. The only challenge is getting your head around the fact that it works like tapas with plates to share. All the party were impressed with the food and we went away happy.
I had very high hopes for this place. It was very busy as far as online bookings were showing, so I was only able to get a counter. However, I had a phonecall saying that they'd be able to move us to a table as there had been a cancellation. We were meeting at 6.30pm & could only have the table for 2 hours. My friends and I were greeted cordially and shown to a lovely table. There are approx 9 tables, for our whole stay a maximum of 4 were occupied. I asked politely if we could stay on (as there were still empty tables) but was told that we definitely couldn't stay on and that we should have ordered food as they "don't allow just drinks at the tables". I was made to feel like I'd done something wrong and I couldn't wait to leave. We did order some nibbles and a plate of food, all of which was fine & the waitresses were attentive and efficient. We had a back up booking for another place at 8.30pm a couple of doors down, at Elliots. They were ten times more accommodating and friendly, I'll definitely go there in future.
We all ordered pasta and it was inedible. There's al dente and then there's just not cooked. It was the latter. My two friends were too polite to say anything, but in fairness, the waitress took mine back and got it cooked a little more. She also took it off the bill. But then I noticed that five of the diners on the table next to us were complaining that the pasta wasn't cooked either. Being able to cook pasta properly is a culinary basic, so goodness knows who was working in the kitchen that day but they need to get another chef.
The pudding was good though.
The service and food is good.
Friends from abroad catch up donner
My wife and I eat here regularly, a little Saturday morning grocery shopping then into restraunt to eat. Always friendly staff and nice choices of tapas style food or larger portions of you don't want to share... Great wines and cocktails as well.
Arthur Hoppers was a great wine bar. The staff were really lovely. It was very noisy and we moved to the counter. Wine suggestions excellent. Food was good, but the concept of the small plates did not quite work.
The food was great. Sharing plates are such a good idea. The service was also great and our waiter could not have been more helpful and attentive. There was a nice atmosphere and the music was at just the right volume for conversation. I would definitely recommend.
This is my new go-to place. I've gone 3 times in the last month, and the food never disappoints and the service is always pleasant and welcoming. One concern I have is their supposed time allocation of 1.5 hours to a table. That has become standard for many restaurants, but it is hardly enough time for proper meals, particularly with friends over gourmet meals. I hope they don't enforce it (as I have never been told) as long as the table is ordering food and drinks properly.
All round excellence . Food quality is consistent and memorable each time !
Very last minute booking based on reading a review - very impressed - food good and service even better - really looked after without it being overbearing. Great selection of small plates and wines - lovely atmosphere
Good selection of small plates and great wine options.
The staff was very friendly. The menu is well balanced with small dishes; the carpaccio was excellent, the baby spinace salad and risotto were also delicious... Only our cocktail choise was "middle of the road". We enjoyed the atmosphere very much in a nice Borough market neighbourhoud. Definitely something to come back.
Excellent smart casual restaurant, not too many covers and excellent choice of small plates served at room temperature, which is just how they should be enjoyed. Lovely chocolate mousse too.
No idea why this is time outs no1 Italian restaurant. Don’t go there if you are going for this reason. Food is ok but nothing great. It’s a nice environment with friendly staff, shame about the food!
Our go to place to eat and drink good food and wine, front of house staff very friendly and informative.
Can't go wrong really.
I went to Arthur Hooper's with my family for a birthday dinner. We enjoyed amazing food, we particularly liked the cheese selection. We would recommend to anyone, everything from bread to olive oil was top quaility. The staff were great and we will be visiting again soon!
We spent a lovely afternoon at the Hayward Gallery and wandered along the Thames to Borough market. We were early for our 1900 hours sitting but were allowed access to our table to have pre-dinner drinks. The service was exceptional, without being over the top and intrusive. The reviews I'd read said the food was excellent which it was. We shared some starters and mains (pasta was a huge portion) and had some excellent cheese for dessert. The reviews had also said it was dark and to get a table near the window. It wasn't dark at all. A lovely evening. Thoroughly recommend.
Very helpful and friendly waiting staff ensured we enjoyed a delicious meal. Good value wine available.
Really good food at a lovely decorated restaurant. Great tasting plates just the right portion to enjoy. Our waiter (John) has probably the best customer service that we have experienced in London for a long while. The same goes to all the other staff in the restaurant. We felt welcomed and special from the moment we entered and to us leaving.
Pleasant wine bar near Borough Market, with good food intended for sharing. Service is pleasant. Price is high, but better value than many other places around Borough Market.
Came here with a friend that had been before and was wonderful. Food excellent and service equally great. Must book in advance
Great place for lunch right near London Bridge station and opposite Borough Market. Well priced ‘small plates’ on a short but appetising menu. Friendly service and good wine list.
