The Caesar salad was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The salmon on top was raw and tasteless.
I thinks it's got great atmosphere and service. I also love the ambience of the cocktail bar and having a drink before dinner in the elegant dining room. I think it is a classy and beautiful place. The service was very good too. My only criticism would be it's incredibly expensive and the food is pretty good but not incredible for the price. It's a great evening out - just know you are going to lighten your wallet:)
I liked the food and the atmosphere. Curiously there was a heavy base playing somewhere near the dining room which was a bit annoying. Our server was pleasant but somewhat obsequious. She would also disappear for long stretches.
I think they are still working out the kinks. But I will be back.
Our experience of Arthur’s was one of exceptional mediocrity in every regard although we were pleased that our table was ready immediately. All considered,We will never have a return visit!
We dined here two weeks in a row and the experience was worth raving about! The food was excellent and the service was polished, attentive and consistent. The second time we returned, we were greeted with servers who remembered not only our visit from the previous week but our wine choice and where we sat as well. Really and truly a great dining experience, in the classic and traditional sense. A new favourite place!
The service was terrible. The hostess was very unfriendly when I arrived 10 minutes early (in a snowstorm) and was told that the Dining room wasn’t ready. I asked if I could sit in the waiting area and she kind of shrugged and. Made me feel like an inconvenience.
We waited for a very long time for service as different servers wandered back and forth from our table. Long gaps in service having to flag staff down. Servers coming over before we ordered basically acting like do you want something? The place was empty too so it was a lack of attention not a result of a busy Sunday.
Food was just ok. Fourth visit. It will be a while before I return if ever.
Always a great experience at Arthur’s. Best vegan eggplant Parmesan
Food was excellent and the menu has many great choices. I had a delicious Caesars salad and pasta dish. Service is outstanding, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and unobtrusive. Reminded me of great restaurants I have visited in Manhattan and London. Cocktails are worth a visit to the comfortable bar even if you aren’t having a meal. Prices are high for the area but for similar quality downtown or in other cities, quite acceptable. You get what you pay for. Very impressed.
I didn't realize that the restaurant had a bar dining area and a formal dining area. If I had known when booking online I would have chosen the formal dining area. Otherwise, we still had a good dinner.
Our waiter was exceptional and the food was excellent.
We will come back soon.
Unbelievable dinner again at Arthur’s. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. And Jonathan - you remembered us from our last visit, went above and beyond to make our evening special. Thank you Jonathan!!
Food was horribly salty, tuna tar tar was absolutely horrible, the taste colour everything was just off. Ambiance was okay minus the fact you’re looking out to a McDonald’s. over priced
In spite of mixed reviews my wife and I went to Arthur’s and were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is lovely, the service was attentive, and most importantly the food while comparatively expensive, was excellent! The serving sizes are large and in the case of my wife’s eggplant, could have been shared. We will be back, for special occasions , Arthur’s is a nice addition to the Yonge and St Clair neighborhood.
Amazing place. Every dish we ordered was delicious. High end in terms of prices but the place does not disappoint. Cocktails are top notch as well.
Great service and a beautiful layout.
very disappointing food in such a great location. what a shame!
I want to love Arthur’s. The concept is wonderful and we had a great server but the food was lacklustre. Their presentation was Ok, but I shouldn’t need to season my food at a restaurant. Would only go back from the atmosphere and convenience.
Hands down one of the most disappointing and worst dining experiences in Toronto I’ve ever had.
Too many things went wrong to even list. I will also absolutely never step foot in that establishment for dinner ever again.
Our first time experience was outstanding. Our waiter, Roberts, was knowledgeable about food and drinks, always there when you needed him but kept a respectable distance when you didn't. The food was amazing and the ambience around us was delightful. Loved the night at Arthurs.
The food and the service were great. I will definitely be back for lunch. I wouldn’t pick it for special occasion tho, too much of a “boys club vibe”.
So close yet so far- We asked to sit at the bar and were seated in a booth next to the right side of the bar . Whoever designed the Bar deemed it necessary to have the worlds noisiest printer up top for some ridiculous reason so that very 2 seconds you would be interrupted by its loud operation, so much for creating a great ambience. We were politely relocated to another booth and then given a server who’s sole mission was to get home as fast as possible and made sure we knew it. He finally admitted to the reason for his behaviour and I let him know what I thought of that .Thankfully he disappeared and Another server intervened in a sincere effort to save the evening.
This is one of my favourite brunch menus/places in the city! Great food and service! Love the variety and New York style feel! The French toast is amazing! Same with any of the bagel towers ..... also love the club salad (comes with crispy chicken)
It was a birthday dinner and the team didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing as was the service (thank you Shauna). The decor was beautiful and enhanced the experience. We had the special of the short ribs and the branzino with Matzo ball chicken soup to start. Don’t be fooled by the plant based options that they offer- they taste better than the meat or dairy options. We will be back to try more of the menu.
First time experiencing Arthur’s
Still working out the bugs in my opinion
Very attentive staff and knowledgeable sommelier
Fish was light in substance
I always have an amazing meal at Arthur's!! Go at lunch and ask for the best server Z!
We had heard mixed reviews before going to Arthur’s but decided to try it anyways. Caesar salad was terrible. If you’re going to do something table-side, you should have it perfected. It was generous in size but over dressed and weirdly spicy. The steak tartare was quite good but far from outstanding. I had the pasta special, a linguine with a mushroom cream sauce. I had to return it because it was dry (no sauce) and just warm. My friend had the veal chop which was chewy and not served hot. We waited one hour between our appetizers and main course. I would not return.
I like Arthurs and their service. My suggestion is to add more Gluten Free options to their menu.
We had the clam appetizer which too salty we sent it back, ceasar salad was wonderful and the tuna tartare was ok. Our mains were the branzino which was great, the clam pasta was also delicious but the prime rib was really not so good and tough. The service was great. The dining room is really nice.
Great food and service.
Couldn’t have more mess ups if your tried. Brought out salads for myself and my customers. All needed more dressing and anchovies. Asked and asked an waited over 30 minutes. Also one clients entree came with the salads. Second round of drinks took 20 minutes. Entree was very limited in size.
Staff was very friendly, but seemed completely overwhelmed. Had an 8pm reservation, and we got there at 815 (our bad), and were told our table was just being cleaned. We said no problem and had a drink in the bar. About 35 minutes later we get our table after asking twice. We then sit down and wait 10 minutes without seeing a server. So we left. Again, I stress that the staff were all incredibly friendly and professional, there just clearly were not enough of them to work the number of guests.
Didn’t like my food but my service was perfect and the place is so nice that I almost forgot food wasn’t fantastic
The atmosphere was enjoyable, the decor was that of a 5 star restaurant, but family/casual brunch oriented. Service was impeccable, our waitress Shauna was enthusiastic and helped us decide on our meals. Our dishes came out at a reasonable time, and the plating was very aesthetically satisfying; definitely a place for Instagram foodies. Would 100% recommend on trying one of their appetizer towers. A wonderful brunch experience, would definitely return!
Many things went wrong. Liver was impossible to eat and 2 out of the 4 main courses had to be replaced because of that. Those 2 main courses came long after the other 2 people were finished. So everyone ate at different times. Most fine restaurants would not charge for those 2 delayed entrees. Kale salad has one piece of Kale in it. The Caesar’s salad was not made at the table since it was keyed in correctly. Pretty place. Would love to go back but my husband refuses because of the service and the food. He replaced his liver with a pasta which was quite spicy. Wasn’t described that way on the menu but at this point he did not want to say anything.
Expansive menu. Something for everyone. Great Plant Based options.
The place is a bit of a hidden gem. Clientele well heeled and a touch pretentious but the staff amazingly warm and thoughtful. Food is big but our waitress encouraged us to share. The roof top patio is definitely great on a warm summer evening, and if it gets too cold they provide blankets.
Looking out onto the McDonald's across the seat was special. Had the prime rib and it was tough. Would not go back
Terrific evening—enjoyed by all
Asked to sit upstairs on the patio. Very nice day. Attractive restaurant full of well-to-do people looking for an elegant place to hang out and share a weekend meal. Menu was small but diverse enough for most people to find something they could eat. Prices are on the high side even for an expensive brunch. On par with cafe bolud or la banane. I ordered the pastrami hash with eggs over easy, a coffee and my friend had a club salad and a coffee. Our bill before tip was $60. I did want to get a bagel which I hear are good and for $3.15 per bagel, I would expect. If I wanted cream cheese it would be $5. Well that was steep but no, it was an ADDITIONAL $5 just for the side of cream cheese ... plus the bagel! Absurd and the server even acknowledged this and apologized. She then said that if we couldn’t afford that, she could bring butter. Incredible.
The club salad was good, lots of lettuce, endive, chicken, tomatoes, lardons, etc. the pastrami hash was extremely oily and had about 3tablespoons of oil at the bottom of the dish.
The wait staff hacked through the meal, we left irritated and
Excellent crab cake. Not inexpensive but wonderful
I’ll be back!!
