Artisan Bar & Kitchen
Situated in the heart of Union Street in Ryde in the stunning site previously graced by Joe Daflo's.
Artisan is a relaxed but elegant dining and drinking space serving a wide range of craft and European beers alongside a unique selection of wines and full range of spirits.
Our fabulously decadent cocktail and gin lounge will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings upstairs where you'll find a selection of 100 gins with many tonics and botanicals.
Quality food is also central to Artisan. Sharing platters, small plates and authentic Italian dishes are created from the best produce the Isle of Wight has to offer.
Overall a very enjoyable evening. Very friendly staff, good service and a lively atmosphere, without drowning out all chance of conversation. The singer was excellent. The ham hock starter was tasty and enough for the two of us to share. The lamb shank was very tender and full of flavour. The only disappointment was the seafood pasta – very well realised, but tiny, even though it was meant to be a main course.
I wasn't impressed with the food, I had seafood pasta (gf option) but barely had any seafood in and it was mainly pasta with a tomato sauce. The staff were friendly but it was busy and only one lady doing drinks, taking food orders and serving the food, could do with more staff on a Saturday afternoon.
Cannot fault Artisan. Easy booking process, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff. Varied menu, good quality food and decent sized portions. Restaurant is unusual, airy and quirky. Great cocktail bar upstairs. Had a wonderful evening. Very impressed.
Lamb shank was dry and over cooked, rib eye steak was tough and had no rib eye!
Food not so good as the last time, which was early March, also live music not so good. He didn’t engage with the crowd as well!
I went here with my wife. I ordered a medium steak with a coke, I was given a hot chocolate and a steak dripping blood that was probably not even rare. We also had to ask the waiter for a knife and fork after the food was put on the table as none had been provided and none of the staff had noticed. I am not very fussy with these kind of things but the steak was barely cooked and not even close to medium, when I pointed it out to the waiter it was met with a shrug of the shoulders.
We had high hopes going in but our experience this night was terrible from start to end. The barely cooked steak cost £21, which is much pricier than some of the excellent restaurants nearby. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Great food great atmosphere loved cocktail too!!!! Thank you
Food was lovely! If I would say anything negative it would be that the sandwich / cake ratio on the afternoon tea could be better. Not enough savoury and too much cake. But everyone is different so..........
My mum had the pan fried sea bass and she said it was one of the best meals she has ever eaten!
Superb food, much better than I was hoping for, I will return
Average food. Gave a wooden coffee stirrer and a straw as a drink stirrer, we had to ask for cutlery and condiments. Staff were polite but let down by management. Food was bland and served on small plates meaning it was crammed. No web site and no menu on display led us to ask if they have opened too soon. Not great but not cheap either. A pity Ryde needs another decent restaurant.
