Beautiful decor with fabulous food and service!!!!
My wife and I enjoyed a spectacular Valentine’s Day fixed price luncheon menu. There were many choices available, in an elegant setting, with culinary creativity at its finest. Chicken liver mousse in an individual small glass jar; moist grilled red snapper on a bed of spinach and mixed vegetables, and a dessert of strawberry shortcake with sauce anglaise served on a plate whose rim was adorned with a beautiful script in chocolate sauce saying “I love you”! The experience was capped by a glass of delicious and appropriate Sancerre wine and a bill that was so modest it belied the sumptuousness of the whole dining experience.
A birthday celebration dinner, made more festive by an excellent dining experience. Food was exceptional, service was solicitous, and the pub setting was warm and friendly.
I love the valet service. Our table was ready. Our server was very friendly and engaging. She knew the menu well. Our appetizers and main courses were excellent. We greatly enjoyed the wines we selected. Artisan is a family favorite of ours and we recommend it to all of our friends.
Another fantastic meal at Artisan - a quiet celebration of my husband’s birthday sitting in favorite banquette corner! Diego took exceptional care of us with his evening suggestions! And that over the top chocolate dessert and chocolate isn’t even my favorite choice - it was truly extraordinary!
Hanger steak was way toooo chewy & the Monk Fish special was beyond bland. Told them about it & no one said anything.
consistently superior dining experience! food is top-notch and service always excellent.
The wait staff continues to disappoint. Sometimes excellent but often times a bit off. Food is normally good but on a Sunday night maybe not the best time to go. But I would say if the restaurant staff is not there to do a good job then maybe close early. Clearly wanted to leave and did not offer desert or coffee. Little too much freewheeling attitude in the bar area I would add. Someone needs to step up and manage the staff better.
The food is amazing. We had a birthday weekend of restaurant exploring and this was our last restaurant. The food was awesome and the service was great. It was surprising to see the place empty on a Sunday evening... we will certainly visit again!
Wonderful evening. Lovely, welcoming staff. Rei was a terrific waiter. Food was impeccable. Overall a marvelous experience.
A little too old of a crowd. Just wasn’t what we were expecting. The food wasn’t as great as I had heard but the lounge area seemed nice so maybe we’ll come back for that in the future.
Creative menu , well prepared , decent portions but not absurdly priced.
Sunday brunch was excellent with a wide selection of items on their Prefix menu and from the regular menu. The food was great and the lounge and dinning room are comfortable and quiet. Service was a bit slow and somewhat confused. We would recommend and we will be returning.
We went here on New Year’s Day for brunch. The service was poor. The orders were not entirely correct. The avocado toast still had little pieces of ice mixed in. All in all, this was a disappointing experience. We have been here many times before, including New Year’s Day, and we always enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, something has changed.
The food is fantastic. Good portions, delicious, unique menu. Once it became clear our table would not be drinking, our service quality absolutely plummeted. We received four different servers throughout the course of the meal, the maître d' ignored our table despite wandering the seating area, and various ordered items were forgotten. We were (with the restaurant aware) there for a birthday which was never mentioned.
I’ve heard wonderful things about artisan, it was my first time there and was not disappointed. The food and wine were delicious, and I highly recommend the pot roast
My wife and I brought another couple to dinner who had never been to Artisan. We have been many times before. Every aspect of the restaurant was exceptional, atmosphere, food, noise level except for our waiter. We were at the table for 10 minutes and never offered a cocktail when the other couple joined us they were offered water but he never offered to take a cocktail order. Dinner was very slow and dishes presented to the wrong person. It took an inordinate amount of time for our after-dinner drink order to be taken. The manager finally took our after-dinner drink order and Finally to get our check !!!!!!!
Beautiful restaurant, food was excellent.
The food is outstanding. The menu has enough variety to make each person happy.
Great food always!
The food was delicious. It was a birthday celebration and the desert was nicely plated with Birthday inscription and a perfect surprise.
Bonus - they had a well priced prix fix choice and it was perfect and reasonable.
My husband took me to Artisan for my birthday dinner and it was amazing!
lunch wasn't crowded, food was very good and I'd surely return
Our meals were delicious and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely return.
We eat at Artisan a few times a year. This time the food was incredibly salty, and the service was mediocre. It was an expensive meal for not great food or wine. However, usually the food and service is much better- so we will be returning and hoping for much better!
Grayson and staff were fabulous! We were seated promptly and enjoyed our romantic dinner with endive salad and scallops & roasted cod!
Great! Been going to Artisan since it opened. We love it. Service is beyond excellent. Food is amazing.
Artisan has been a favorite of mine for several years. When friends visit from out of town, it is one of my go-to restaurants in the area.
So, when a dear friend asked where I wanted yo celebrate my birthday, Artisan was an easy choice.
The food was delicious. However, even good food did not make up for the service.
When I made the reservation, I indicated that we were "celebrating a birthday."
So, I was taken aback when we were told that the restaurant had reserved a table not in the dining room, but in the bar/lounge, along a banquet row wall-- - one right next to the hostess stand and in the pathway from the front door, which was drafty (It is November after all!) There were no other diners in tbe area, as I recall, except for someone at the bar--
We declined, and we were shown to a more appropriate table in the dining room. Actually, we had a choice of a few tables among others having dinner- So, I see no reasonable explanation of the poor initial offer.
The dinner service was ok-- not bad, but impersonal and not overly attentive.
We declined dessert, opting to go elsewhere.
Interestingly, although it was clear from the reservation that we had a birthday, none of the staff even gave a simple, verbal birthday wish.
Although a $200 meal isn't extremely exorbitant, I would expect a higher level of service.
Despite the good entrees, the service left an unpleasant taste for the entire experience.
I am not sure what has happened to the service at Artisan, but I am sure of ine thing:
I am sorry to have suggested the restaurant to someone else. It was an embarrassment as a recommendation- - and a recommendation I won't make again.
IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER. BEEN COMING SINCE OPENED. STILL THE BEST /
Artisan is definitely the best location in the area for special occasion dining. The main room is elegant, noise levels acceptable, and food, although on the conservative side, well prepared and served.
Just the spot for anniversaries, major birthdays, special family gatherings and the like
Great food and a very caring, efficient staff we always enjoy dining at Artisan
The food was delicious and beautiful ambiance but the service was not great. We had to ask for our water to be filled and they were slow in clearing the table and bringing the check.
Artisan has a talent in the kitchen the food is fresh, imaginative. The cold food is cold and the hot food hot! The menu always has specials and the regular choices are delicious. The two soups the lobster bisque and chowder were amazing full of seafood and silky smooth. The lobster Waldorf was way too small for the price. The rack of lamb, lamb shank and, especially my red snapper were all excellent. The bar took ages with the drink and it was not crowded when we got there. Deserts were good but they should change up the sorbets and offer a special because if you go often as we do they are the same deserts.Overall a gem in Southport, we will be back
I love Artisan. Have made it my go -to place for lunches and dinners with friends. My main quibble with last week’s lunch was the omelet, way overdone and dry. I’m not sure why quiche, always in the menu, is never available.
This was our first dining experience at Artisan. The Host was friendly and attentive. The same can be said for the wait staff. The food was outstanding. We will definitely be going back.
I was at first disappointed that the website wasn’t updated to reflect that the late summer menu had changed. I had my heart set on an entree that was no longer on the menu. That said, the venison special entree was delicious and made up for that disappointment.
Hit it well on all aspects. Great experience.
Food was terrific. There was a very large party in the main dining room. They were extremely loud. Should have had a separate room.
