Batter-fried prawns tossed with curry leaves, ginger and onion
Classic chicken tikka in a tomato and cream gravy. Flavoured with dry fenugreek leaves
Food was absolutely sublime, especially the Amritsari fish. Manuel who served us was very prompt and accommodating. We will definitely be returning soon, there are many more items we wish to try on the menu!
The only downside is that the lighting is very dim, and it was difficult to read the menu as a result.
From start to finish we received exceptional service. The food was exquisite....we can’t wait to come back, thank you 😊
Having been recommended the restaurant by a friend who has waxed lyrical about the place, we had high hopes. In fact, the experience was very underwhelming. It is a very large restaurant and they were busy. Service involved grabbing a waiter that was passing you in the main. We asked about the feast but were told it was 'one piece of this each, one piece of that each etc', there was no selling of the dish. Underwhelmed we opted not to bother. The squid starter was good. I'm afraid the main courses all tasted generic. We tried each others dishes and they all tasted pretty much the same. We won't be returning ...unless my friend drags me!
Fantastic food, great service would highly recommend
The food was excellent and service attentive and friendly. Thank you
We had a table with a booth, Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful, Ambiance was great even in these difficult times, We had a fantastic meal and will be sure to return.
Very lovely ambience, and of course AMAZING food - with very reasonable portion sizes!
A fabulous meal, didn’t particularly like sitting at the front of the restaurant we felt like we were in the foyer!!
But it was a really lovely meal and night , thank you
Excellent from stat to finish - social distanced very well, didn’t in any way feel uncomfortable or rushed.
Great food and service as always.
Chicken had a bad flavour
A plate of Bombay mix with yoghurt on top is not worth £8..
Poorest waiter service I’ve ever received so disappointed
Good experience. They rushed us a bit.
I think the tables are big, you'll sit so apart, its difficult to chat within couples.
Bit disappointed that we had asked for a private booth as it was our wedding anniversary but the restaurant was unable to accommodate us as the only booth for couples was in use and the other booths were only available for groups of four.
We were eventually seated in the private glass room with a family party, but they were lovely people and it was a nice ambience in there.
We had the Samosas to start with Chicken Tikka curry and a Chicken Biryani as mains, all beautifully cooked and the service from the waiting staff was excellent.
Absolutely love going to Asha’s the food is amazing and would highly recommend it
Nice place, good atmosphere despite social-distancing.
We had set lunch.
Nice poppadoms but there was only yogurt mint sauce accompanied them.
The starter platters were fantastic, particularly the succulent huge King prawn. A few leaves of salad would have made it perfect.
Disappointing main courses though. Chickpeas curry was dull and the other dish, fish curry, had almost the same colour and taste as each other. My expectation of Stone Seabass in my curry was dismissed as a favourless fish, almost like the cheap Vietnamese Pangasius fish. The sides were good, the fragrance saffron rice and very light and fluffy naan bread.
Next visit, we will order from the À la carte menu.
The angle of sunlight from where I sat revealed lots of finger marks all around the neck of water carafe, needs attention!
It was okay experience- service was below average no one came to the front and food tasted somewhat M&S style lol got me but we are planning to give another try at Solihull branch so hopefully it will be better experience over there!
Great food and enjoyed it
5 stars all round
The food and the set menu was great, atmosphere and decor was amazing, hopefully will be back soon
Food always delicious however it seems this time our server might not have got the food out when serviced was called as the butter chicken was warm not piping hot like usual the chips were cold and the onion salad came out towards the end of my meal, the server was talking so quiet we could not hear him he could not understand any of my requests I had to repeat myself 10 times and he was so slow working his way around his section
Excellent food and service. £9.95 for a little dish of saag was a little excessive, but overall a lovely time was had. Would really recommend to anyone who likes tasty curries.
Amazing atmosphere will definitely go again sometime soon!!
By far the best Indian food we have ever had, excellent value and service. Will definitely be returning
Shahid patel the waiter was very friendly/helpful
Top quality food, one of best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten in
Brilliant, best food I’ve eaten in a long time 5/5
We're regulars at asha's at lunchtime, and have really missed it during lockdown. I'm delighted to say it's reopened as good as ever.
Fantastic food, servers couldn’t do enough whilst extremely busy. Will definitely be returning
We had a lovely family night out, fantastic service and high quality, tasty food. The best Indian restaurant by far.
Terrific as always. Would definitely visit again soon.
Favourite place for authentic Indian food in Birmingham
Been a while since our last visit but as ever excellent food and service.
Fantastic food and service. Best curry I’ve had. Would definitely recommend
Always consistent but menu never changes.
Service not quite as friendly as back in the day used to be better but still a flavoursome experience albeit the starter mixed platters are very overpriced compared to main courses
Great atmosphere and very welcoming of children. Celebrated a birthday party and the food was amazing.
Food delicious, service good as busy, overall good
Didn’t think much of the food, spices were not amazing and for that food is very overpriced
Food was amazing, service was excellent. I would definitely recommend
Excellent food, very good waiter. Overall just kidding that extra touch in hospitality from the Ivy. Overall a great meal.
Very disappointed on the lack of variety of food for those with allergies. Im allergic to both gluten and dairy, the waiter offered me one choice as a starter and two choices as main. In today’s society it was very surprising to have such a successful established restaurant offering very limited choice to those with allergies when they have such a big choice of delicious food on menu which could have easily been adapted.
Lovely food the best Indian restaurant in birmingham very pricey though
