My partner and I went for dinner Saturday night. It was very expensive, I ordered an apple slosh which was a non-alcoholic cocktail, and it was nearly £5 and it was essentially a glass of apple juice with a load of crushed ice and 2 raspberries in it. I had the butter chicken which the server asked me if I wanted it spicy and I told him I didn’t but it was VERY spicy that I couldn’t eat it. You could tell from the flavour it had been cooked with fresh ingredients but it was just overpowered by all the spice. My partner had one of the kebabs which I tried and they were lovely so would recommend them. The naan bread was burnt and thin in places so wasn’t particularly edible. And be careful with ordering poppadoms as they charge nearly £7 for 2 with the mint and mango sauces! They put mini poppadoms in too but I swear they’re the ones you get from a packet in Tesco.
The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant has been nicely done out and I probably would eat there again but only have the kebabs but if I wanted to just have a curry night I’d just stick to my local curry house.
Initial impression when we arrived was good. Pleasant introduction from waiter. However plates removed after starter, before I had finished eating which is considered rude in England although maybe acceptable elsewhere in the world. Indeed plates for main course put down whilst still eating. Second round of drinks was served and she was clearly unhappy in her job. Food was freshly cooked and tasted excellent. The overall impression is that overpriced despite food being excellent and would expect better service to justify high prices.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, I had lamb biryani and my husband had prawn ginger bhuna, both meals excellent, just felt that the cost was slightly high when you are in a shopping mall. Whilst the decor was marvellous you could tell that the shopping centre was just outside.
Food was the best indian food I've eaten could not fault it!
Great food . Great service & great atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone. The curry’s are not the cheapest around but well worth it.
One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been too. The food was excellent and the staff were extremely knowledgeable
Fantastic imaginative food. Excellent unobtrusive service. Lovely atmosphere.
Although the service, food and ambience were really excellent I feel it was overpriced and there wasn’t a lot of menu choice. Almost £11 for a cocktail is excessive when there are nearby restaurants charging between £7-£10. All in all £83 for two people having just a main course and 2 drinks each is excessive. They also charge you £1 for a charity on your bill without telling you what this is for (or if they do this wasn’t easily accessible information).
The team at Asha's made us so welcome but more importantly our waiters were very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting different types of food, they chose some dishes and wow, they were great.
Cant wait to go again soon
Very cordial welcome, and the service throughout our time in Asha's was prompt, efficient and friendly. We had a good bottle of wine, reasonably priced, and shared one appetizer and one main, both of which were excellent. We would highly recommend this spot for lovers of expertly executed Indian cuisine. The one drawback was the noise level, fairly high for a Tuesday evening when the restaurant was at best half full. We imagine it would be deafening on busy nights. That said, the ambiance is lovely and if you enjoy an energetic vibe, this will satisfy in every regard.
Great service as always and exceptional food...!!!!
Food was a bit too spiced for all of us. Service excellent. Expensive compared to Asian restaurants within Solihull area.
Compare to Birmingham location, the food was missing something. I have always raves about the consistency of the dishes at Asha’s Birmingham, disappointing Solihull did not hit the mark for me
Fantastic food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere.
Excellent service but very noisy. Food was good but not outstanding. I had to ask to get the web advertised 2 for 1 deal taken off the bill. There was some reluctance to do this.
Slightly disappointed in the flavours. Expected more depth of flavour. Menu in restaurant did not match what was on line and some dishes we were looking forward to weren't there.
Meal was for my mom’s birthday, they brought over some b’day cake with a candle! Was very thoughtful of them.
A lovely meal, great service but a little expensive, but would go back again.
First visit to Solihull Ashas and it was lovely. Great food, nice service and stylish decor.
Venue is beautiful and staff were attentive.
Food was a let down, very spicy and nothing special.
Over priced for what we got.
Best Indian meal I have ever had. Myself and my partner will definitely return. The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely perfect.
And the cocktails served were also great.
The food was incredible - good quality with excellent flavours. Everything was distinctly different in flavour. Even my kids (who are picky eaters) enjoyed their meals. Finally found an Indian restaurant in Solihull where the food doesn’t taste like the usual Indians restaurant and each dish doesn’t taste the same!
Nice modern decor, great selection of wines, friendly staff and good service. We had the Chaat starter to share and the lobster and a lamb dish for main which were both delicious we will definitely go back. Was also great to see proper Indian desserts on the menu which were also delicious.
It was ok not what you think you should get
The food was really fantastic but the service wasn’t what you would expect for the price you pay per meal. The front of house staff were friendly enough but we felt rushed to finish our food with the waiter hovering over us to give us our main course when we hadn’t finished our appetisers. It was a Sunday evening too, so it wasn’t like they were short for tables.
I would recommend you but I thought the food very expensive for a curry and whilst the food was lovely I dont feel cost appropriate and it would put me off coming again. I asked for a jug of water which was luke warm and would have at least expected ice in the water when paying this much for a curry. I cant drink alcohol or soft drinks for health reasons. Naan bread were the best I have tasted however.
Very good food. Good service.
Ambience good bit not as lively as Ashas Birmingham.
Fantastic service as usual, food was incredible. Lovely staff members and food came out quickly and beautiful. It was our anniversary and they even bought out a cake and a candle without us knowing they was going to do so. Really great
Lovely welcome from staff, especially Sachin, really looked after us and my allergy needs with a super treat at the end to celebrate our anniversary. Beautiful, lovingly made food in a beautiful atmosphere. Thank you.
Good food, however overtly overpriced with limited, not so varied menu. Service was faultless, very accommodating and polite, friendly staff. Great place to try out, as a one off, high end Indian dining experience.
First tome visit to Asha’s. Service very good and food good too. Definitely go back.
It is much more where to go out for a meal with a partner, as a group maybe not as much, the food was to a excellent standard but would have liked fresh poppadum's, they were more 'out the packet' or so seemed it. The cost of this is very expensive for an Indian I felt and I know our whole table did also.
It's good to get a non national chain restaurant in Touchwood.
Contemporary Indian food, plush place, excellent service. Think Indian Fumo.
Highly recommend, modern take on Indian food but the classics have not been forgotten. Try the King Prawn Bhuna with ginger, which was stunning. Thin naans, perfectly cooked rice. Nice wine and reasonable price too.
Nice touches with the linen tablecloths and napkins, heavy cutlery and thin stemmed wine glasses.
Spot on service, nice ambience (ask for a booth), place smacks of class. Worth a few extra ££’s compared to other Indians in Solihull.
Give it a try.
Exquisite place and fine dining. Extra you pay compensates for the superb quality of food and service.
Staff very attentive, excellent food. Surroundings outstanding thoroughly wonderful experience. Will definitely be visiting again in the very near future. It was my birthday and what a wonderful end to the day visiting Ashas restaurant. Thank you!
The food was very nice, but didn’t stand out as extra special, which is what I was expecting.Service a little slow. Restaurant lovely.
Myself & friends had a lovely evening. Staff were courteous & attentive & the food was delicious. It was my first visit & I was impressed with the warm welcome. I look forward to going again & will happily recommend Asha's to family & friends.
Great food, authentic tasty chicken ahwadi biryani
Great place, with great food!!! Prices nearer high end but quality more than makes up for that.
