The Ashoka Shak in Coatbridge is a fun and stylish Indian diner serving up and extensive menu of authentic Indian fare. Located inside the Showcase Leisure Park, the Ashoka Shak is popular with Lanarkshire curry lovers and is ideal for informal get-together with friends, family and colleagues. The dining room is decorated with tan leather and purple suede banquettes, mirrors and accents of citrus lemon, and the kitchen cooks up a variety of meals from spicy curries and sharing platters to fish and chips and steaks. We love the King Prawn Jalfrezi made with ginger, garlic, crunchy almonds, coconut cream and sultanas; the Goanese Salmon cooked in the tandoor with coconut and fresh green chillies; and the Chicken Tikka marinated in yoghurt and spices.

Booked here as it was close to the cinema. Food was ok but not as good as my local restaurant which is amazing.

Ashoka Shak, Linwood. We went for dinner to the Ashoka Shak, at Linwood. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful, but the food was awful. We ordered chicken tikka and it came so hot, it would have blown your head off. It was full of chilli and black pepper. The Waiter was very helpful and offered to change it to a Chicken Korma, which we accepted. The Korma wasn't much better - loaded with chilli & black pepper. We ate very litte of this and left early.
