Everything was fantastic! This was my first time here and I’ll definitely be back.
the food and service were fantastic. we cannot wait to go back.
I’ve been here before and had a better experience but this time wasn’t great. I ordered the lobster fra diavolo which if assembled properly would’ve been great. However, they put the steamed lobster on top of the pasta, which leaks all the lobster juices onto the pasta and then it’s takes like you’re eating lobster water. The server was not around and I had to go to the host to get a resolution. I then ordered the gnocchi which is delicious. Most other dishes ordered were good.
The food was incredible. We loved every dish we ordered and the espresso martinis were the best we’ve had!
This was our first time to Assaggio and it will not be our last. Service, food, ambiance - everything was fantastic. We had a wonderful evening and can't wait to go back.
Beautiful spot for a date night, or celebratory dinner. Can't wait to go back.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston. We always have a stellar evening when we go!
One of my favorite places in the north end!
Great food, great environment, great service. This was our first time there and we will definitely be back.
The food is delicious and we love the vibe of the top floor lounge. Highly recommend the meatballs, raviolis, or really anything! Have never had a bad meal here.
Very impressed with the service and their execution of the "new cleaning and social distancing " protocols. The staff all had properly fitting face masks that did not require them to be touching their faces to adjust. The food was very good. Osso Bucco was exceptional and the Veal Milanese was great.
Unbelievably great meal. top-notch service. We will be back!
We loved it! Definitely get the Carbonara... you won't be disappointed!
The food and service was outstanding at Assaggio. We would absolutely go back to eat again.
Food was good. Took a long time but it was cooked to order.
Was surprised that 2 entrees were served in a frying pan. Not an attractive presentation in my opinion.
Two of us ordered lasagna, one ordered veal Osso Bucco. One ordered gnocchi.
Food was great, but they charge $8 per bottle of still water, which we didn’t know. Ended up paying $96 for water between 8 people.
The food and the service was fantastic.
We love Assiago. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable.
First thing that anyone driving to the North End knows, is you need to figure out parking. In looking at OpenTable page for this place, said parking is provided by their sister restaurant a block away. However, when we got there, there is basically no valet parking - probably because most of the streets are taken up by restaurants and seating. The good part is, that when I came around the block on Prince St., there was an Assaggio server out front on the street - I asked about parking and he confirmed there wasn't any valet. Despite the fact there were cars coming behind me, he took out his phone and showed me a map of where the nearest parking was - which we easily found! He was very helpful..
When we got back to the restaurant, they asked our inside/outside seating preference, so we took outside. The maître D walked us to the front door - and basically pointed across the street to a table we should take - which was a bit odd, customary to walk folks to their seats, but ok..no biggie.
Our server was great and attentive. We started with cocktails which were both excellent - I had an Old Fashioned that was great. Our first dish was Calamari which was pretty average. We shared it but didn't finish it. I had a Lobster Ravioli special which was solid - good dish, but nothing I would rave about. My wife had the Fettuccini Pesto special - and that was excellent! Made we wish I had gotten that instead.. Very good. We skipped desert to hit up other specialty shops in North End.
Overall good - two people - just north of $160 with tip. Probably other places I would go in the North End first before returning, but I would go back.
Good for boston a little overpriced
Food is excellent as always, just a bit different eating outside!!! :)
Excellent menu and service as always
Assagio is one of our favorite restaurants in the North End, and it never disappoints.
Food was very good, service was pretty good, not knocking them too much for us sitting on the street because we were happy to just be able to sit down and have a meal too, but there were folks seated inside as well, and that would have been a heck of a lot nicer. So I still gave 3 stars when I probably would have given 2..maybe 1 just because of the constant cars and a few harleys driving by...so not ideal environment to be sitting and enjoying a moderately expensive (but still decent value) meal. If you can call and confirm inside seating, I'd definitely recommend it. If you can't, be prepared to be on the street -- which if it was a quiet time of the day (traffic-wise) would be pretty nice, and also be sure to dress for the weather, and all things considered it was a very good meal. Trying to be fair in these crazy times, but still need to give a useful review.
Veal Milanese was tasteless. I thought I had covid and lost my sense of taste. Was sick for 2 days after. Blahhh!
Delicious, service was the best I’ve ever had.
Delicious food and great service! I will be back.
Sat outside which was fine. Ordered the ahi tuna rare. It was overcooked and served in large chunks instead of nicely sliced thin. The vegetables that came with it were not a good accompaniment for the fish. Very disappointing experience for a very expensive meal.
Went there on a date. Was an amazing experience. Waitress was good, atmosphere was comfortable, food was great, best espresso martini I’ve had in my life
Good Dineout Boston Experience. Also, they did not rush us, which is rare ...
Everything was perfect! Wonderful service and food. Went for dine out Boston and will go back.
Delicious selection of choices on the Boston Restaurant Week menu. We both thoroughly enjoyed the 3 courses. The expresso martini is awesome! Excellent service!
One word: Amazing!! The food was absolutely delicious, our server was excellent, the atmosphere was great. I would definitely go back.
Assaggio is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston and we look forward to it every time we plan on going. We're never disappointed!
The service was wonderful, our meal was spaced out and we were not rushed at all. Drinks and entrees were delicious. Zucchini blossoms were amazing.
First time here but won’t be our last. Sat outside and the weather was perfect. The drinks were great. Sautéed clams, rack of lamb and angel hair with meatballs were all delicious. And our server took great care of us and never made us feel rushed. Highly recommend!
Took advantage of restaurant week special tonight $33. - Octopus/ burrata appetizer, main dish - perfectly grilled filet, mashed potato/ spinach side/ jus if needed followed by a chocolate torte dessert- superb! My husband went for not to be missed regular dish- grigliata ( plate of grilled fish - shrimp, salmon, swordfish, lobster, calamari) best in North End! Accompanied by espresso martini and Aperol Spritz!
Nothing short of Amazing : ) cant wait to go back soon.
Enjoyed prix fee Boston Restaurant Week dinner with my wife. I had the fried calamari/onion rings basket and my wife had the octopus/eggplant appetizers. Both were very good. The calamari basket was large. For the Main dish I had the homemade lasagna and my wife had the salmon. The lasagna was delicious but was a just a decent size. Same with the salmon good but a decent size. The dessert choices we had were earl grey panna cota which was very light and creative. The other was a chocolate tort with vanilla gelato. Both were excellent. Service was super. Drinks were typically expensive in Boston but no more so then any other North End restaurant. Overall a good value and a very pleasant evening.
Our server was outstanding! The food was beyond outstanding!
