My first time in the beautiful hidden gem in Victoria.

I don't usually don't make any reviews but as often people like to complaint and criticize, in my opinion, an amazing restaurant deserves a good review and compliments.

Came with my sister for Brunch before our train to Gatwick and what a nice way to start our holidays!

The service is great, Mariana (the terrace waitress) was spot on and we were very well received by the receptionist and a very stylist blond manager.

Food wise nothing to address. We had the eggs benedict and I continued with the chicken with cole slaw. Very refreshing and summery. My sister had the fish cake and she told me that it was very good.

We will definitely be back again after our holiday so we will be sure that we will be able to finish our holidays the way we started.

Thank you Aster!

Came for my birthday this Saturday.

It was a special afternoon accompanied by my other half and some bubbles.

The service was smooth, efficient and food was great!

They brought a cake with a candle in the end of the meal. It was a very nice touch.

What an amazing way to celebrate my birthday!

A visit at 4 oclock surely means tea time in the UK but clearly not at Aster. as we looked at the menu we rapidly heard that the lovely cakes that we had seen were off limits and there was only a cake of the day. This turned out to be a rather sad cold apple tart. To add insult to injury the tables allaround us were moved for the last 15 minutes of our meeting. The bottled water wsa on the table and opened before i could say tap water! What a shame after such a great visit last week.

Excellent meal on the special deal. As they were a bit slow having just changed the menu we were given a free starter which was good. Excellent service from very suave young men. Smorgasbord menu on the offer was excellent value

Everything was incredibly salty - even when it didn’t need to be - like the hummus. The Gavi was excellent.

What a lovely restaurant! We’ve tried there first time as friends told us about the nordic restaurant in Victoria. It was such a great to see smorgasbord being served. Smoked tomato soup was delishous. good solid choice of wines and cocktails. I would recommend to anyone who is around to try, for sure it doesn't dissapoint. Service is very pleasant, quick and our wairtess was very very lovely explanining all dishes to us. Will be back next time when in London.

Starters and mains are really good but the desserts were a little lack luster. The service was very friendly but a little slow and forgetful. Had to ask a few times for the bill and one of the side dishes came out halfway through our meal. Will try again because maybe the service issue was just bad luck.

Deeply average experience. We had the Smorgasbord deal of 3 cold plates and one "warm" for £21. Disconcertingly the prawns felt like they were on the warm side when served, the potato and mushroom hash was so salty that had we not already waited 35 minutes for this "warm" plate I would have been tempted to send it back. The pork belly slices on rye bread and smoked salmon were OK. The fish cake was similar - rather too heavy on potato taste and light on the fish taste.

The good news was that the wine was relatively reasonably priced in carafe form, the service was a little too enthusiastic about clearing the table once it was clear we were not ordering more food or wine ( although actually, had we been left alone a bit more we might have ordered more wine but my glass was whisked away).

Finally, they really have crammed the tables in and with the changes in floor levels not only were we uncomfortably close to our neighbours conversation but also their laps! Shame - it promised so much but failed to deliver. Still, in this area it will do well as there is little effective competition. 12.5% service charge.I will walk a bit further south into Pimlico where quality and price are better.

Aster is a lovely restaurant and has a very modern vibe. We went on a Saturday lunchtime and it was packed with large groups celebrating and for some of the time a live DJ. That wasn't all that suitable for our small group, however, we still enjoyed ourselves. The table we had was rather squashed in with hardly any room between our table and the bar stools. Service was OK but a little chaotic. I would go back but if I wanted a venue for a large group celebration.

Nice meal overall. Great setting and extremely comfy. However, the service was patchy - lovely hostess but rather unhappy and fraught server... then very friendly new server halfway through our meal. The building is fantastic and the decor is of a very high standard.

Loved it here, right by Victoria station so a good meeting place. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Loved the open airy space. DJ is a great touch but not too loud to be obtrusive. Fairly pricy was £40 a head but worth it for a treat

A curious experience. I’d had a very good breakfast here previously and was looking forward to our dinner. There was nobody to greet me when I arrived but my friends were already seated, so I sat down. After about 5 minutes of no service, I went to find someone to take my coat and get a drink. The service seemed to come in waves. There was either nobody or four waiters all round the table. They were all very friendly but not terribly efficient. Food was OK, nothing remarkable, although it looked interesting on the menu, it didn’t really deliver. It was fine, but only fine. The worst thing was the music. Loud, tedious, generic noise completely drowning out any reasonable conversation. We had to shout to be heard. I have absolutely no idea why this is considered necessary in a busy restaurant where people have clearly gathered to talk to one another. It’s a shame because Aster could be a nice place to eat, within walking distance of my flat, but I won’t go back until they moderate the noise.

I booked this for brunch with couple of people visiting. I made sure on the brunch menu that there was something for everyone to eat. However when we got there, there was only the limited set brunch menu option. Which was not mentioned anywhere on their website, nor Opentable, therefore I have given this place 3 stars due to their information not being up-to-date.

However the food was quite good, and they filled up the prosecco glass well with the bottomless option. The service was very good as well.

PS!I actually changed it to 4 stars as the feelings of disappointment are starting to get vague...

Business lunch - Food underwhelming and somewhat of a lack of appetising selections on the menu. Caesar salad really lacklustre. Setting is quite nice - bright, airy and sophisticated - though in the ground floor cafe and had a lovely corner table.

The fish sharing board was very good. The burger was on par with a Wetherspoon’s equivilant. Music way too loud. Tables crammed in at every possible place. Expensive for what it is. Service a bit clinical and erratically attentive. I instantly regretted I didn’t book for the restaurant, Aster. I’m definitely excited to eat there but would definitely not go back to the cafe.

The waitress was very accommodating and polite. She constantly refilled the water but not in an intrusive way and made sure we had all the drinks we needed.

Also, it was my sisters birthday and the hostess and other members of the team were very helpful with sorting the cake out.

I have been once before and the service was very good then, but the team exceeded my expectations once again.

Thank you very much!

Ben

Going to Aster Cafe on the weekend gives you very little choice with the set brunch menu which is disappointing. The staff seem disjointed and aren't able to work well as a team either. Our first course of brunch arrived well before we got our cocktails and when the second course came we had to send one dish back because it was so salty! Aster Cafe can execute an Eggs Benedict well but that's about it if you ask me. The interiors are pretty but the food doesn't live up to the price/expectation. I definitely wouldn't go back for the set brunch menu.

First visit to Aster Cafe and a good find in the otherwise "under construction" area around Victoria Station. Ambience is modern, funky and comfortable. Food was nice but small portions for the price which is our main issue with Aster. We had a dish advertised with a lingonberry sauce and ended up with all of about 6 berries, so asked for some more which was readily supplied but surprised us that the initial serving was token'sim. Waiting staff were polite but needed prompting to remember things we'd asked for.

Still my favourite restaurant in London! It's nearly a year since it opened and Aster has completely changed the dining scene in Victoria. There are only positive things to say about this wonderfully harmonious and hospitable establishment. The staff are friendly yet professional, the food is fresh and tasty and the environment is warm, welcoming and very relaxed. I have recommended Aster to almost everyone I know and have brought many friends here in the last eleven months. What more can I say other than - give it a try?
