Very nice to discover a place where you feel comfortable and looked after. Great cuisine!
Nice food. A little quiet for a Sat evening.
Celebrated Joe’s birthday & we had a good time. Was fab- great food and service. Thank you x
Nice decor but very short staffed the day I was there. When we did get service it was fine but the waiting was frustrating.
Pré-théâtre menu looked good but service was very slow which then meant I couldn’t have the 2 courses as we had to rush off.
I would say if you have a pre-theatre menu available you need to make sure you have staff to provide timely service. Our waitress was lovely but she and the kitchen was slow.
This restaurant is no longer Scandinavian fusion and the menu is very ordinary. It was always expensive but it used to represent good value. Unfortunately not any more. The service was very lax compared to previous visits.
Loved the ambience and food and so convenient for Hamilton which we were going to see . The only thing that let it down was the service and this was due to the lack of staff. The staff working were rushed off their feet and we were actually late arriving at the show .
front door hostess was unfriendly. she was looking at her iPad and not at us. she seemed stressed and distracted. when it was time to show us to our table, she pointed towards the back of the restaurant and said "there". We did not understand and so we sat at a small table by the stairs. after a few minutes, watching people walk up the stairs, we worked out that there was seating upstairs. I asked the hostess if I should go upstairs; she was very short in her reply. "yes" and waived towards the stairs. the service upstairs was much better. food was nice too. shame about the ground floor hostess. I will not go to this restaurant again.
We went for the Sunday Feast and really enjoyed it! Our server was amazing and always so attentive, checking if we've got enough water or need to change the bowl for seafood starters etc. We mainly went for the seafood starters as we're big fans of seafood. The scallops are quite small and sandy, but still has a nice flavour, while the oysters are pretty decent with vinegar and shallots. The charcuterie was also a nice variety along with quite a few different choices of bread. Perhaps a bit tricky if you're gluten intolerant but they do have vegetarian options without gluten.
The mains looked great, we had the lamp and steak, with the most amazing roast potatoes that were super crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, my absolute favourite side dish. Assorted roasted and boiled vegetables were also provided with our mains. The red wine jus was needed for the thin slices of steak as it was too dry for my liking, but still cooked to medium rare thankfully.
The desserts were less impressive, lots of mini pastries and a plate of assorted cheese but all very sweet.
Overall I would definitely come back as it's got an amazing decor and the meal was definitely worth the money!
Very pleasant venue near Victoria with a bright airy space and excellent food.
I would recommend this, but with reservations. I went first of all post=theatre, and must have had a cheaper menu, because when I went back the following week everything on the menu was much more expensive and there were no cheaper options, not even for vegetarian food. The starter (avocado and tuna) was outstanding, though, and the main course (octopus with chick peas), tender and good. Wines were in the usual price band for a restaurant of this kind, but slightly more choice of price band for the main courses would have been ideal.
The starter (seafood tartare) and the main (beef bourguignon) were outstanding. The cheesecake for dessert, however, was nothing special and a little too sweet. Service and ambiance were really nice; our waitress from Sardegna was very good at recommending the best dishes and the restaurant was elegant and quiet.
The only negative comment is the vulgar remarks that an Italian waiter by the bar made about my body to another waiter as I was walking to the restroom; unbeknown to him I know Italian but I didn't want to cause a scene. He should refrain commenting about clients when they are nearby.
The Ford is lovely but our mains were served between Luke warm and cold. I’m not sure if this was a timing issue with plates left sat on the pass? The service was good, and overall a lovely lunch
Great service and food. First time here and would recommend
Lovely waitress / Good food but lacking any real atmosphere.
As usual, excellent service! However the food kind of let us down this time.
Nice place. Can’t fault the food but I’m not sure what it’s identity is. It used to have a Scandinavian influence now not quite sure what. Nothing wrong I suppose but didn’t have the wow factor when as the most upscale restaurant in the Nova complex it really should
The service was slow, inattentive and nibbles came in dribs and drabs. Wrong wine.
This is a great location and I like the ambiance but the price was high for a middling experience. My third or fourth meal here but will think hard about whether I come back.
Lunch menu is really excellent, has something for everyone. Not my first visit, signalled disability in advance, ignored this time and we were sent to empty upstairs; plenty of tables downstairs. At first only offered a la Carte menu, had to ask three times for Lunch Menu. Staff seemed surprised we knew about it! Once that was sorted out, service was good and very attentive, food very good.
Food was OK, although the arancini nibbles are best avoided. Cocktails were good.
One of us was served a wrong starter, but it was soon replaced and the original starter was left for us as well.
Warning : Check your bill - we were originally charged for 2 coffees and a hazelnut praline that we didn't order.
I am a disabled regular customer. Their facilities are excellent, staff most helpful. Ambience a bit stiff but food good and reasonable value. Working Lunch menu recommended.
A good place to have a get together with a few friends before heading to the Theatre. Great Cocktails.
Visited with my Wife for my birthday dinner, on a Friday evening. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and has an upmarket feel. We both ate from the theatre menu, which was good value, though with limited options. Food was enjoyable, though not outstanding in any way. Service was pleasant and professional. Wine choices were good, with some inexpensive options, as well as the usual overpriced restaurant choices. All in all a pleasant evening, though somewhat lacking any wow factor. Thanks.
The setting of the restaurant is beautiful and combined with the location are settings for a brilliant experience. However the service could be improved either by getting more staff or ensuring they are more attentive. As with all d & do restaurants the food was divine.
Really enjoyed a business lunch here on my first visit. I asked for a quiet table and was given a corner table upstairs which is a lot quieter than the ground floor which is buzzy if that is what you are after.
Good food on the set menu and a nice bottle of Cote de Provence rose, and a lovely waitress.
Very convenient for Victoria Station and I shall most definitely return.
I went there for Pre theatre dinner. Buratta to start and Salmon main. They were fully aware that we had to leave at 7.15 or so but despite that the drinks didn’t arrive until after our starter, and then the mains came late meaning it felt a bit rushed. The food was good but not brilliant - and they felt a bit understaffed- everything was Ok but I’ve had better (and worse to be fair) Pre theatre experiences elsewhere.
First time to this restaurant. Went there because the Victoria Palace is right across the street. The food was good and the service was very good. We had the two course fixed menu and wine. The biggest draw back is the acoustics. It was significantly loud while we dined there. I think if I were going back to Victoria Palace Theatre I would try another restaurant due to just the noise.
We had the Evening Standard lunch menu. Everyone was very happy with the food. Service was excellent.
Visited this restaurant before. Previous experience as good as before. Service very friendly. Food was very good but a bit pricey. Will definitely be visiting again. IB
Felt very well looked after
Pre-theatre offer was very good value. Nicely cooked, tasty. But my wife went a la carte and went for the Sole (same price as the 2 course offer), which was the tiniest fish you could imagine. Less than half the size of a sea-bass I had as part of the deal. So the pre-theatre offer was good, the a la carte was poor.
Pretheatre menu good value, excellent presentation with good flavours.
Service a bit mixed, but it could be that one waiter that was not very attentive /careful. He didn't get back to me about my query regarding using a gift voucher, he cleared 3of 4 plates as he then realised one person was still eating their side dish. He asked if we wanted anything else whilst referring us to the drinks menu, but to be fair to him, he did then provide us with both the pretheatre menu and a la carte dessert when we asked to see the dessert menu. Other staff were a lot more switched on.
The tables were angled in a way to optimise space, but you couldn't help but feel a little cramp, especially when sitting near the stairs and constantly getting bumped into by guests and the occasional staff brushing past.
Still, overall, the food was excellent and service wasn't bad. My guests were very happy with the quality of food. I will probably return and bring other friends /family.
Adequate food but expensive for what you get. Nothing special.
We enjoyed lunch. The cheesecake was delicious and our chicken burgers were very good. It felt a bit odd being upstairs almost on our own but as we had business to discuss it actually worked out all right. We would return.
Good welcome, excellent food and attentive service- not much to find fault with - would book again
Weekend brunch..Lovely food, cocktails and ambience. Children were welcome too which was a bonus.
We had an esrly dinner here before Hamilton and we all ordered the burgers. Really messy. Full to the brim with all sorts of sauce cheese and gherkins and served on a bread board. Baps were not big enough for the contents. Also the beef waa too rare and inconsistent. Such a shame as i was treating my nieces for their birthdays. they were visiting from Scotland. Bit of disappointment. Despite 5.30pm appointment we were then rushing our mains so we made the show in time. Doubt i will return. Sorry.
Modern space, high quality food and great service. Convenient to Victoria Palace theater
The service was a little bit slow but the food was delicious and good value for money.
