Wonderful experience in a very pleasant environment. Well sized portions, not too big not too small. Nice staff. Good value for lunch, config duck was very tender and well seasoned.

Dinner before theatre (Hamilton). Arrived as planned at 6pm. Service was very slow. Had to ask to order food. Starters still not arrived by 6.30 and when I asked if it could hurry along one of the waiting staff was incredibly rude and told me I should have booked a table at 5pm!

Food was good (but it took FOREVER) cocktails and bar are really nice.

Saturday brunch. Great ambiance, great service, and certainly great value for money. We love the Nordic imprint of the restaurant. The herring, the beetroot gnocchi and the venison burger were delicious. All 4 desserts were good!

My friends and I dined here one Friday night. It was a very pleasant place and our waiter was very helpful. The food was a little over the top but nice enough to eat - the carrot cake dessert especially is fabulous. The manager however, was different. A friend of mine had the Ribeye steak (as did two other friends). It was a little fatty. She continued to eat and didn’t think much of it. When the manager came to take the plates she commented that the steak was a little fatty. She didn’t request money off or freebies she just wanted to let him know. His response shocked us all, “what do you want me to do about it?” With a tone that was rather condescending. When our waiter returned we informed him of what the manager had said and he was very apologetic. He really put us off the rest of the meal. The same manager came to take our dessert orders and although he tried to be jovial it was too late. Therefore, as a summery, the food was nice and the actual wait staff are fab. But if your are approached by the managers beware the tone.

Have been to Aster before and I have enjoyed it, this visit was on a Monday and the service was friendly but not as good as previous visits, the waiter was not aware of the current set menu, wine recommendation was off the mark and we had to try three different wines which is very unusual. Food overall was good although one of the four courses was average. I will come again but not for a while.

We looked for a restaurant close to the theatre and this came up, but it turned out to be a great choice. They offer a pre theatre menu for 23/26 GBP for 2/3 courses, two of us had the duck confit and two had the Norwegian fish pie, both choices were excellent. The service was also first class, friendly but not too familiar. We would definitely book this again if we are at another theatre close by.

Why did I give Aster a second chance? Because it offered post theatre/cinema set menu. Arrived at the booked time and kept waiting for table but very pleasantly served by maitre d’/reception guy.

At the table - despite booking the fixed price theatre menu we are presented with only the main menu and drinks menu! This always annoys me - either it indicates s lack of care and communication between booking and serving staff or, more cynically, an attempt by the restaurant to force you to use the other menu.

There is a plethora of staff but we had to wait and then signal two different people to order. Staff were nice and professional but the food was uninspiring and disappointing. The wine by the glass options are however very good.

This is certainly the best fine-dining, affordable dinner I have had in London.
Everything from amuse bouches to desserts is delicate and refined, well-balanced, and very tasty.
For starters, do not miss the scallops. For mains, everything was perfection. We ordered the lobster, the duck breast, and the fish. Desserts (chocolate tart, banana ice-cream with a twist, and praline) were brilliant. I like the decor very much.

I've been here a couple of times because it's location is so convenient, and the food is great! However, it is completely let down by the service. The waiters are really nice, but it is just so so slow. Last time I was there my main arrived before we got the bread for the table, and then they didn't highlight that the burger didn't come with any chips so only realised once I got my food, and by the time the chips arrived my food was cold.

They need to be more on it!

Everything here works. The food was tasty and just the right quantity (we each had the Pre show 3 course set meal plus 1 side). The music was pleasant yet I could comfortably hear my friends. The seats were comfortable, the lighting and decor nice, and the toilets clean. The staff were lovely and we all felt comfortable regardless of our differing fashion styles. Very enjoyable evening at a reasonable price for such a central location.

Service was slow to begin with but improved over the course of the meal. I was bought the wrong starter to the one I ordered but it was swiftly rectified. Set menu is good value although if you wanted a side dish of potatoes with it this costs £4.50. Food was very good

Absolutely loved my experience at Aster. Came for bottomless brunch and was so impressed. I've had plenty of Eggs Royale in my time but Aster's was by far the best. Good value, great location near Victoria station but not noisy or too busy. A gem!

We chose set menu, service was very good efficent and very helpful. My daughter had duck and ate fish pie, everything was very season. Nic touch, good value and awesome cocktails.

Aster has a relaxed atmosphere and the service and food have been excellent both times that I have lunched here. Whether you want a full lunch or just a coffee the staff are helpful, quick and friendly. Modern, but welcoming decor, plenty of space and not too noisy, so good for meeting friends as well as for business. The location is very convenient and easy to find - just across from Victoria Station

Main waitress was lovely (secondary waitress wasn't), overall though, let down by plates cold, two courses came at the same time and turned away only to return from being kept warm (i.e. not fresh and hot), 1 extra egg for £4!! What are they thinking??
I have eaten here a few times and historically it has always been very good

The menu has changed and the previous Scandi lunch menu was far more exciting than the main stream a la carte menu they now offer. Tried the Nordic salad which was loads of iceberg lettuce with dressing and some prawns and salmon. Can’t say it was impressive. The room is nice and the service is perfectly ok but it lacked something.

Food was lovely but the service was terrible. Our waiter didn’t know anything when we asked about the menu, we asked which gin he would recommend, he shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t know”, then he brought aquavit instead of gin. Lastly, the management wouldn’t honour the code we had from 1Rebel as they said we had to say when we booked. (1Rebel say you just have to mention it when there). So mixed reviews but probably will go back as the food was delicious.
