Our menu is a taste of modern France with a nod to the traditional. We blaze a trail to original and exciting creations while keeping the much-loved staples of French dining philosophy close to our heart. Namely, the best ingredients, the most delicious wine and thoughtful service.
On trendy Moxon Street sits Aubaine Marylebone. Flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows as you walk in, this relaxed yet contemporary restaurant boasts a large first-floor private dining room fit for 90 seated guests.
I would recommend the location, food and ambiance BUT last time I ate at Aubaine the service was appalling. They were not very busy yet we arrived and were not approached to see if we would like something to drink for at least 10 mins. We gave up and had to a call a waitress. Then food took 25 minutes to arrive, which is too long if one is on a 1 hr lunch break from work. After our main courses were cleared, the waitresses were chatting in a corner by the till and did not bother coming to ask if we would like coffee and/or pudding. Again, we had to hail someone to attend to our table. This really would put me off visiting again. Staff were just too disinterested.
Lovely food, beautifully presented. A very classy place to eat.
Service was not great at all - it took 30 minutes for our order to be taken, our starter plates were taken away with food still on them and it took another 20 minutes to get a servers attention to get our bill.
Good service & delicious food
We were greeted with a big smile and taken care of very well by Julia.
Food was excellent and great wine selection to compliment.
We will make a point of returning when next in the capital.
Overall, decent restaurant with ok food. However, in comparison to pricing the food was significantly below standards, with small portions, lack of taste and generally poor quality.
For example, creme brulee was straight out of fridge and had very mixed temperature between near-frozen and general cold.
Pricing is comparable to several highly rated restaurants, where you'd find much much better food.
After visiting, a number of friends confirmed a similar poor experience and 2x overpriced vs what you get. I'd avoid this place
Very disappointing service - It took them more than 1h to serve food. Burger for £20 wasn’t good value for money.
Incredibly over priced compared for what it was. Restaurant was empty and lacked atmosphere. Shame given its location
Quite a busy lunchtime service. Good food, but my only gripe is that my black cod, was only lukewarm - and my one thing when eating out is that if it’s meant to be hot please can it be properly hot. Maybe it had hung around slightly too long before being presented to our table. Cheery staff, good ambiance and I usually eat here when in the area.
Service and food were very disappointing. It took over an hour to deliver the food, which, for 4/5 meals, were actually served cold. It could have been an off day but that sadly didn’t help our visit.
Great service. Very friendly staff. The food was really really good. Very tasty.
A great evening out. thank you.
Enjoyable but could have been better. Took that “bit too long” for the food to come out. We could see our order for tea sitting on the bar for ages before being brought over.
Just little things - not important - but if they get them right then the whole experience becomes much nicer
don’t bother with the lobster benedict. overpriced and wasnt even that enjoyable considering how small the portion was and how little lobster you actually get
The epitome of discrete but friendly service. Thank you much.
This is a hot spot tucked away in Marylebone. Our waitress was welcoming, super helpful and attentive. Our meal was totally delicious and the whole experience was a 10!
Food was horrible. Avocado toast was not fresh it was an avocado spread which tasted horrible. Haloumi was undercooked
First visit to Aubaine as we were looking for a non-Italian restaurant in Marylebone. The restaurant was fairly quiet (which suited us) and the service very good. The Fillet steak was excellent (200g which is a sensible size) ie quality rather than quantity.
Lovely friendly service, efficient and nice atmosphere.
My only grumble was the front door, after people came in it never fully closed, so a bitter wind made our dining uncomfortable.
we kept getting up to close the door, the manager was aware of the difficulty, and did nothing to ameliorate it.
Service was very brusque; food was ok but not particularly well flavoured and chicken was on the verge of underdone. Shame as it’s s lovely location and good menu.
Food was nice. lovely restaurant but the whole experience was lacking.
Order took a long time
Very bad service waited for 20 mins for water
Setting and ambience was promising. Service adequate. The food was poor. My husband had gloopy mash potato and a poor meal. Starter prawns bland. Expensive at well over £100. We will not
be making a return visit
The restaurant was quiet on a Thursday night, but we had a good meal. I would recommend for a lovely date night!
Pleasing space, nice and light. Excellent menu for a lunchtime or a light dinner. Very tasty food. Helpful staff. No pressure to depart.
The service was really bad. Food was cold
Such lovely staff who took great care of us for our birthday meal! Very attentive and accommodating. The food was brilliant!
Birthday brunch for my wife. Full French brunch and two Wagyu burgers all arrived stone cold. No excuse for cold
Food anywhere. Will not return and will urge others to avoid
Food and service was great, restaurant quiet as it was a miserable wet night.
Very very poor. No atmosphere, few other diners - and we soon learned why. My starter was missing a key ingredient. My main very unappetising and I couldn’t eat most of it. Others in the party clearly felt the same. We ordered a second bottle of a wine only to be told there were no other cold bottles. A suggested alternative was very poor indeed. To cap it all the price for the meal was exorbitant for what we had. A huge disappointment and very embarrassing as I had chosen the restaurant on the basis of your recommendation. We will not make that mistake again.
Service was really poor tonight and at times verging on rude, very slow and not at all attentive. Some of the food was great but most was so-so. Such a shame about the slow service and long waits between all the plates coming to the table for all 3 courses. Have enjoyed dinner here before but am unlikely to come back...
I have been to Aubaine many times, usually lunchtime, and the food is always good. I went for dinner recently and was completely shocked by the overpriced wines. Unwittingly I ordered a glass of NZ Marlborough which something like £16 a glass. Fortunately I saw the price and cancelled that order. I certainly would think twice before having dinner there again and definitely would not order wine.
Met in Aubaine Marylebone for brunch on Saturday morning and was disappointed. I used to like this place and their other brunche but my most recent visit put me off from going back there at least for now. It was very noisy and as the tables are very close together you could overhear other people's conversations and vice versa. I order Eggs Royal - eggs were cold and the whole dish seemed very basic and small. Left me hungry which surprised me because I usually feel quite full and for a long time after having the same dish in other places. I followed my main with the cake - their new Strawberry & jelly tart which when it arrived looked significantly smaller than the one I was shown on the display dessert tray.
Aubaine Marylebone was a bit of a mixed bag. The starter of courgette crisps was really just big slices of courgette cooked in batter - we had expected very thin slices, lightly fried to a crisp. The main courses (pea risotto and lamb) were both tasty but not as hot as they should have been; pistachio and almond dessert was a little heavy, although with a good flavour. Service was just OK - friendly enough but not fast or efficient, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty on this Monday evening. I wouldn't refuse to go back if invited, but wouldn't rush back on my own account.
Nice setting and ambience however at the time we were there upstairs was venue for a children's party. Open stairs to the first floor made it very noisy and impacted the downstairs restaurant - we were fortunately able to move table with less impact but that was a shame otherwise the meal would have been more relaxing
Lovely restaurant and service here was great. One guest was gluten and dairy free and they couldn’t have been more accommodating, the staff were very knowledgable about the menu . The food tasted great and was good value for money. Would definitely recommend for a date night or pre theatre.
Ac was switched off
This time it was too noisy with a party going on upstairs
