A great dining experience on a quiet night (Good Friday in Dublin). Cracking mushroom risotto to start, good mains (chicken and cod) and lovely desserts. Lively staff, good focussed wine list and a lovely night.
I already sent an email yesterday on how terrible our experience was.
Very slow service, Massive mix up with mains - 3 mains served then after about 10 mins they were taken away and we waited another 30 mins for all 6 mains to arrive.
Very small wine list and 3 wines not available, ran out of sole, apple pie, Heineken on draft.
Felt sorry for the staff as most of this not their fault.
12.5% service charge added on - should have been at our discretion since there were so many problems during the evening. Very very disappointing and we were looking forward to seeing what Nick's new place would be like. Not a patch on Pichet. Sorry for the bad review but have to be honest and I really do hope you turn it around as I would hate to see this restaurant not work out.

The staff were very friendly and they recommended the tasting menu for us which was really gorgeous. But sometimes because of the ppl were full in restaurant, the service we asking for a very very long time that made us a little bit dissatisfaction. However, all in all I would like to recommend this to my friend.
We hadn't been to L'Avenue for a little while so it seemed the perfect location for Mothers Day lunch and super value too at €30 for 3 courses. It did not disappoint, lovely relaxed atmosphere, knowledgable friendly staff who looked after us expertly - we even had the pleasure of chatting to Nick during the afternoon.
This is a jewel of a restaurant- good food, lots of choice and now complete with Gin trolley! Great location and well worth a visit.

Had a top meal on Saturday night for the Dine in Dublin experience. Brought herself as she was complaining of cabin fever, and our food was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and served by the man himself was kewl. Will be back soon to try the other menus/wine. The staff were extremely pleasant and courteous.

I was one of a group of four celebrating a birthday. The food was excellent and the staff

The one disappointing factor was that the restaurant was empty. We were there at 1.30
for lunch and only two other people ate during the time we were there.
Went for Valentines. Was disappointed to be informed on arrival that the steak dish rib-eye had been replaced by a daube of braised beef.
Both my partner and I are keen steak fans and this was hugely disappointing. I understand the kitchen wanting not to cook steak to order on Valentine's night but this should have been advised clearly in advance. Braised daube of beef is simply not a good substitute offering.
What we did have instead was quite tasty - a chicken and a risotto dish - but not what we wanted on our valentines night.
Service was adequate though we had to ask for our bottle of wine 3 times meaning it didn't come to the table until after we had received our starters

we had a great 3 course dinner with outstanding Gin tonic, salmon, beef, wines, dessert. realy very tastfull and beutiful ambiance. Not a tourist trap like you see much in temple bar area.

had a great night - made feel very comfortable, not intrusive very attentive, excellent service, excellent food.
My only criticism is that three of our party had the scallop starter which had a 7euro supplement but we were not informed of this in advance. It was a minor oversight but otherwise all was great. Will definitely recommend. PatB

We visited Avenue on a busy Saturday night. I absolutely cannot fault the service, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to see Nick Munier have such a hands-on approach, and you could clearly see the lovely rapport they have with their patrons - it really gives a noticeable warmth to the overall atmosphere. The serving team were chatty and pleasant without being intrusive. The meal itself was very nice - my sister went for the more adventurous choices which she slightly regretted, and she did have some food envy when we served, but I think this was more down to personal taste on her part rather than the quality of the food. Full marks on presentation though - even when a dish was not to one of our tastes it still looked beautiful, and I felt the meal was priced fairly for the quality of the food and setting. In summary, a lovely night was had and I would go again.
Starters were quite disappointing, only 1 main course (chicken) really nice; very expensive side dishes (a handful of FROZEN (!!!) chips at €4.50 a bit of a joke); wine by the glass nice but could be a bit more generous. Good to see Nick Munier working in the restaurant and service was good but food a little uninspiring....Focaccia bread served with hard butter seems like a schoolboy mistake have to say, especially when it's done by Masterchef judge!Overall we wouldn't rush back.

Lovely restarant food tasty but portions very small not sure if this was because it was early bird menu. Actually the cheese board was so tasty we ordered a second one! Wine affordable. Staff extremely nice just need to hold back a little on toppini up our wine every few mins!! Overall lovely evening. Will return.

Disappointing unfortunately. Booked for a romantic birthday but found the restaurant lacking in atmosphere and food was good but not outstanding particularly for the price.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a lovely French welcome. When our knock at the door was answered we were told by a disgruntled frenchman that the restaurant was closed because they didn't have enough customers. After pointing out we had an OpenTable reservation we were told that the reservation had not come through. We asked for recommendations for a local restaurant of equal quality but according to our host, there are none in Dublin. We had a lovely meal at Fallon & Byrne. Go there instead.
The food was very good but the portions were frightfully small with the starter soup no more than 4 or 5 spoonfuls and two small portions of meat on the meat options which was good to taste but very small would not recommend unfortunately as a deal menu many ordinary a la carte would have been better
Avenue by Nick Meunier was really one of the best restaurants I ever went to. Allthough it was only one fixed menu, every single element on every plate was perfectly executed, a real treat!
The staff was simply lovely and one waiter even spoke Dutch.
We went on 31th of Dec. and just booked online, not really knowing Nick Meunier. Masterchef Ireland is not commonly known in Belgium so it was a big surprise to discover later, that Nick and his lovely lady had dined at the table right next to us and we had a lovely chat with them.
Upon our depature we received a goodie bag containing Nicks signed copy of Boiling Point as well as one of his paintings and a voucher for our next visit. It made our stay in Dublin one to never forget and to do again in the near future!
When in Dublin, make sure to visit Avenue. You will love it!

Went for dinner and had a fabulous meal. The service and setting was great. Will definitely visit the Avenue again when back in Dublin.
Food was very tasty but couldn't believe how small the portions were ... not good value for money! Left the restaurant hungry and considerably poorer.

Three of us on a Saturday evening for dinner. Service perfect. Food perfect. Ambience perfect. I am genuinely awkward to please and Avenue was perfect.
Amazing food and service. Couldn't fault it. The blood orange sorbet is out of this world. Oysters freshest as you can get it. Good size starter, main and dessert to end. Doesn't leave to tummy overloaded, so excellent for pre-night out dining.
We had a very enjoyable meal here. We'd eaten in Nick Munier's previous restaurant (Pichet) a few times and wanted to try the new place. We weren't disappointed, we were out for a date and happy enough to spoil ourselves so weren't too worried about the price etc. We had the soup and crab starters which were well executed and presented. I asked for the menu to try and ID one of the flavours (turned out it was truffle oil) in the soup. The crab and mussel salad was nice and fresh. For mains we had the duck and the bass. My duck was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly, with the fat cooked out, the accompanying flavours were perfect. The bass was tender and the delicate flavour not lost. We had a nice rose wine to accompany (can't remember the name) that worked well with both meals. Desserts were the pear parfait (which was) and the strawberry mille feuille. These were beautiful. We followed with a couple of cognacs and espressos. I'd recommend for sure, in fact, we bought some vouchers to use as presents.

Decided to visit on a whim while looking for a place to grab a bite with my girlfriend and I'm glad we did. Despite being young we were still warmly welcomed. Décor was modern, trendy and inviting. The food was exquisite with a balanced, creative use of flavour. My one complaint would be that the bread and butter were both cold and I would prefer them warmed but besides that we had a very enjoyable evening. Attentive staff and great food, would definitely recommend.
