What Insiders Are Saying
Aviary is one of London's best rooftop bars, with a huge terrace and excellent views of the City.
Such a lovely place with amazing staff, really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely return
Ordered bread and olives for before main, bread didnt turn up until mains came out, service was fairly poor, food wasnt hot. Manager was apologetic about it and cared but was too late by then as to affect it has on your evening
Lovely room,, lovely service, great views but it's a shame that the windows are half covered.
The buffet had a lot to offer but it remained a simple hotel breakfast. I would probably opt for A La Carte next time around.
Great ambiance with quality and affordable food. I will definitely come back
Overall, it was a good experience. The service was great, food was tasty (a bit under-seasoned though) and the view was stunning.
I think this place is a good place for chill vibes, there's a lovely roof Terrance. The food is ok not great and there needs to be a wider selection of choices. But the dessert was lovely! I will definitely be going again.
Aviary was the perfect place to eat. How the restaurant isn't Michelin Star I do not know! The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The service provided was excellent.
Fantastic venue and great outside bar with brilliant views of London. If there is 1 complaint they are slow on the drinks service when you are sitting in the restaurant.
Nice location and good food. Tables are close together and when busy (as it was) the noise level is quite high and there is a lack of privacy
Absolutely Amazing place! From start to finish. Food & drinks were exquisite and the view from the rooftop terrace was breathtaking! Overall atmosphere was awesome.
The overall experience was excellent and the waitress serving us was very polite and helpful, however on arrival, the tall lady with black hair who was meant to ‘welcome’ us was very rude and hostile which made me feel very uncomfortable at the first instance. Other than that, our dining experience was good as we didn’t have to speak to the hostile lady again.
Impressive food, staff service, scenic views, a good place to impress your partner.
Some men were wearing shorts, which I find not acceptable in a restaurant of this level but that was my only gripe.
My first experience at the Aviary, I really enjoyed the food and the ambience
The 3 bottles of wine we ordered off the menu were not available. The waitress would just speak like off a script and not listen to the orders or questions. The lack of attention by servers was actually quite embarrassing. It seemed the staff were not well trained in how to do their jobs.
I took my 2 boys at half term and we all loved the location and enjoyed the hotel experience. The loos were fabulous too! Great value for the under 10s.
I booked this table for my boss and although he said his guests had a lovely evening, he found it frustrating that it took over 20 minutes for them to be served with their first drink. I think that set him on the back foot for the rest of the evening. That said his guests had a lovely time and their feedback has been positive.
The location of this place is great and the views are beautiful. The staff were at times attentive and friendly, sadly the food is very, very average and not worth the price.
I was there for a birthday breakfast, we waited a while to be greeted but were soon shown to our table. You sadly can’t have hot food outside, but that may be a good thing as it was windy.
I ordered eggs royale the eggs was hard, the were very gracious about it and offered to change my eggs and didn’t charge me for the plate. The salmon was nice but the eggs and the hollandaise were average.
My friend ordered French toast, which was also average the place was very empty so the kitchen could of taken more care. Maybe the chef had a bad day but whoever cooked it lacked passion, and it played out in the food because it wasn’t tasty or enjoyable.
Afterwards we sat outside to take in some of the views of the city. The waiter outside never once came up to us to ask us if we wanted to more drinks.
Our bill was around £51 (includes two mimosas) the roof top is beautiful but the food is very very average.
Lovely view on a great relaxed terrace. Restaurant layout and ambience is great too. The food was equally as good - sometimes these high-rise restaurants are over-priced for an average meal but this was genuinely well executed.
Lovely venue and excellent service. A wonderful birthday breakfast.
The view is good, but the service is terrible. I made a reservation for a friend’s birthday and informed them that it was for a birthday on a Sunday at 10:15 AM. Not only did they not acknowledge it was for a birthday, they did not tell us beforehand that they don’t serve alcohol before 12 PM. We ordered coffees, and one of the three never came. And when we went to pay the bill, the coffee we never received was on the bill and they could not figure out how to split the tab even though every single restaurant in London does this. They were not apologetic or seemed to care about our unpleasant experience.
The food was reasonable but not excellent, especially not for the price. Moreover, the portions are very small. The rooftop bar already closed at 22:00.
Dined here for my wife's birthday treat. Food was spectacularly good. Try the chateaubriand! It's awesome! Good service too given that it was very busy! Overall one of the best dining experiences we've had. Top night out.
The food was delicious, the views are gorgeous, the service was great (not too attentive but attentive enough). Had a lovely evening.
The location is excellent with great views over London from the balcony; the restaurant itself is busy but not frenetic. Food was ok; we went with the fish dishes which were good but the veggies in our party ordered the couscous which was bland and tasteless. Our (excellent) waiter picked up on this and we had the manager over for a chat and they took the feedback well and took it off the bill and through in some free desserts. So full marks for customer service! Our waiters wine recommendation was excellent too.
We were there on a sunny day and drinks on the terrace were fab. A lovely place to sit. Service was good. Food was OK, and I would go again for the terrace but not the food.
Food amazing, but service really poor.. things like “mate or guys”.. We are customers.. sit and after 5 min a waiter told us we need to order because kitchen is gonna close in 5 min, “ come on guys we need to order fast cuz I got 5 min to send your order” so we didn’t have time to read properly the menu, after we needed to wave someone to order some water and drinks... Me as woman I don’t know how to take it but it’s not nice to serve water to the men at the table, put the napkin on their legs and put steak knife without asking and doing the same for the ladies, in the end was me and another lady who were having the steak and my husband need to serve me water cuz the waitress didn’t serve us ( to me and another lady). I really didn’t know how to take it , but I asked later if she please could bring me a steak knife. In the end the food was delicious , but obviously because the rush the forgot one side with my steak. The pour the wine and they took the bottle away we didn’t have in the table and anywhere near us.. so we need to wave again to be serve some wine. The place is really amazing and the terrace is the best part! I’m really sorry for my guest that the experience didn’t be how I expected , We feel rush and not really comfortable.
Poor service...very slow, music was too loud...over priced!
Absolutely delicious food and cocktails and 5* customer service! Fabulous evening
This is a great restaurant at the top of the Montcalm hotel. Although quite loud as the bar is in the same location and open to the public, it isn't too loud that its not enjoyable, providing a decent amount of atmosphere. The best thing this restaurant offers, apart from their amazing food, is the staff. I've worked at high end hotels before so service is a big deal for me, but the staff here were above par!! More than what you would expect from a 5 star. The French lady who I presume was front of house manager was absolutely great, making sure our needs were met without delay. I would like to thank her personally as she ran the floor like it was her own. All in all AMAZING.
The roasted Bream and G&T Old fashioned is all you need
Great views, all round great environment
Overall very good but they squeezed 5 people onto a table of 4 so was uncomfortable.
This restaurant was great! The view was stunning, and the food was delicious. I would recommend this to everyone.
Good atmosphere & service . Great place to be if the weather is nice. Would go again with friends & family.
Great view, but waited 1.5 hours for brunch that came out un-cooked (as did everyone in the restaurant at that time). Management said they had a new cook which was messing things up although I will never return. I would highly avoid.
the location and the drinks are good.
The food is mediocre
Lovely view, suitable for a romantic date. Food was good but cocktails were subpar.
We chose the restaurant for breakfast based on previous reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, consisting of one continental buffet, one breakfast buffet and the other from the a la cart menu. All food was presented well and tasted amazing! Service was excellent too.
We had a lovely evening my husband and I. Food was super delicious! Highly recommended
Food and service was excellent.
