Excellent food lovely waiter great space and great company

So great. So so great. The greatest. The greatest of the great.

We went for my friend's birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The beer selection was great, and the FOOD! OMG! The FOOD! So delicious!

So worth the trip!

Food was ok. Beer was good. Descriptions on the menu didn't match what came out. Example: The breakfast platter was supposed to have kale but came with some sort of cooked cabbage. Server couldn't answer our questions about the menu he had to ask the bartender.

Food was pretty expensive for what we received. The beef fat fries were amazing, but that was the only memorable thing about our meal.

We arrived and found out that our Open Table reservation did not exist because they purported that they do not take 'OpenTable' reservation. However, we did get seated pretty quickly, which made up for it.

The service was quite horrendous. Our server took too long for a very sparse restaurant (especially the indoor side). It took more than 15 minutes after ordering to even get beers on our table, let alone our meals.

The beer selection was pretty good for their own brewery. Overall, if I do go back, it's only to order their beers. I would not go back for food or atmosphere.

A lovely space, nice design, great neighbourhood. the food was AMAZING and allowed for snacking or meals, the place was child-friendly, and service was great.

Beautiful space, alarm went off while we were there and had to wait outside. That was handled fine and the weather was nice so not so bad. Overall, cute space! Good drink selection.

The beer is the best in the city and the food is so good and made from the rooftop garden. Ask the server for a tour of the garden. Highlight of the experience.

Great place for pre show drinks!

I had an incredible experience at Avling. The food is unreal, the service is fantastic, and their IPA is super tasty! I can't wait to go again, and try more of their menu/beers.

My friends who ordered steak said it was amazing. Great service: friendly and accommodating. Phone ahead if you need a high-top, or seating for more that 6 people (We will do this next time to spare staff the table-juggling). Lighting is too bright for my taste, but others may appreciate that.

Went for brunch before an afternoon show at Crows.
3 of us, each had something different, each had questions of the waiter, who was helpful and patient.
The food was delicious and the mimosas went down a treat!

I find that some restaurants have difficulty making a large space feel cozy but Avling did just that. It’s warm and inviting. Service was friendly and even though it was quite busy we didn’t feel rushed and they took the time to answer some questions we had about the place. The food was tasty, I had the burger and it did not disappoint. Beers are quite good, I had their Vienna lager. I would definitely go back and I have already recommended it to some friends.

This is a must try experience. The brunch was absolutely delicious! I recommend the burger :) The staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was curiously cozy and trendy. Loved the vibe. 10/10 would recommend to any and everyone! A true Toronto hidden gem!

We were in the east end with another couple for a theatre evening close by. I'd heard good things about Avling.

The service was friendly and informative, both about the food and the beer. We all shared the Rib Eye steak, and added two veggie sides to fill out the meal. It was all delicious, and turned out to be just the right amount of food.

We loved the light and airy room, even on a dark December evening. I would definitely return to try more dishes (and beers) on a bright summer day.

Nice food. Great drinks. They left us in peace to converse, and checked in on occasion.

Charcuterie board should have cheese and if doesn’t the serve should tell. For $28.00 I would expect cheese.

This is a really cool place, beer is excellent and food is delicious. The perfect venue to spend a few hours with friends and/or family. Best to book ahead.

We are not beer people, but The food was to die for.
4 of is shared a number of things, family style.. so we got to taste a lot!
I would never normally order sausages, but when you only eat half a sausage, why not?
These were the best sausages I ever tasted... and I’m from Ireland, so I know good sausages!!
We were fighting over the baked potatoes, they were so good. But the turbot was the ‘piece de resistance’. On a bed of white beans. ... yum memorable

Four male seniors dined and drank at Avling last week. It was easy to access in a wheelchair. It rolled up to a table by the windows and could have easily gone into the main floor washroom if necessary.

Everyone enjoyed the beer. Avling have a good selection of their own products on tap. We tried at least six different ones. I liked the port; and the 3.9% lager was refreshing. The food was excellent: two orders of fish and chips, one steak and one sausage plate. The triple cooked potatoes were so good we ordered more. But, sadly the pie for dessert was not up to that standard. We’d all go back.

Really enjoyed our evening here with visiting UK family. The food was fantastic, portion sizes were perfect. Our server, Tamara, was lovely and made our evening a very happy one.

Had a birthday meal.
The beer has a lot of potential, service is good, steak is professional made. Shared plates are properly portioned , but single orders are too small for it’s price.
An order of a green from their rooftop costs $13 after tax (I have never paid that price in any 5 stars hotel for a side size dish). This fact will make me not going back.
