About
AW Restaurant offers a progressive British cuisine along with a relaxed and professional service.
The beautiful Wine Room is a real focus in the dining room. It seats up to ten guests and we specialise in creating bespoke menus around expertly chosen wines.
The design is both stylish and elegant to reflect the philosophy of the restaurant.
Good food and great location unfortunately restaurant has security issue with personal data. Full information about dinner was passed to criminals who using that information tried to get credit card details for fraudulent activity
Booked the 5 course menu with drinks package and were not disappointed. Food was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent - we weren't rushed at all. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Very good lunch, perfect service and an outstanding rate price - quality!
Everyone tried their best to give us a great experience in a pleasant environment, the food however was just not as good as i had hoped for and expected from a fine dining restaurant. We booked the £47 five course tasting menu. The beef tartare with oyster sauce was ok, it tasted too meaty for my taste and i would have preferred a better balance of flavours rather than accentuating the raw beef taste. The fish dish was just too salty to enjoy and the chicken seemed undercooked to the point where i was worried whilst eating it that i was going to bite into a raw bit, the skin was soggy. We were brought a pre-dessert, dessert and petit fours, each in isolation would have been fine, but all too rich when eaten one after the other which accumulatively overpowered the balance of the meal. Disappointing, especially when compared with recent great experiences at Texture, Core and Marcus. All of which delivered on the food, which should be a minimum expectation when visiting a fine dining restaurant. The waiting staff and sommelier were all excellent, polite and attentive. With one glass of red and two negronis between us, the meal cost around £150 for two.
We went for Valentine’s Day and I have to say the food was amazing, by far the nicest I’ve ever tasted! The staff were all really nice and friendly (we can’t remember the name of our waiter as we were rather merry, but we named him Alphonse as we think he may have been Spanish) but he went above and beyond for us. Would highly recommend going and experiencing it.
Florin is an absolute gem! Transitioning from chef de rang to sommelier, he was very passionate about the wines & always look to assist his colleagues
The style and presentation of the food was wonderful. Ingredients never failed to compliment each other and always maintained a lovely balance that ensured that no single ingredient became over-dominant.
It was our second time to this restaurant. First time we were amazed by its quality and second time it was a confirmation.
Though we are not vegetarians, we went for the vegetarian menu and we were surprised by the incredible taste of each course.
Every staff person is very well trained and has a open and friendly attitude. Everybody is truthfully concerned by customers and this is a great feeling!
Being French gourmets and loving "etoilés" restaurants, we difinitely put Alyn Williams in our TOP 3!
Quality and Standards of food and service are exceptional and far exceeded any expectation i or my guests had. Great selection of wine by the glass and only suggestion would be the volume of wine served could be better in line with the Polo Bar. This establishment is a hidden gem !
The vegetarian tasting menu was spectacular. Interesting combinations that looked as good as they tasted. Highly recommended.
Very disappointed by the food. The service was inconsistent (different people for different courses). Overall wish we had gone elsewhere.
We had an amazing meal, everything from the service to the food was first class. We had the 3 course lunch menu. My only disappoint was the size of the venison main course. It was a tiny cutlet that cut into barely two tiny pieces. Whilst this was delicious we all felt it was very meagre. We have eaten here before and the meat main course was nowhere near so small. That said everything else was top class and we wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.
Excellent service and very good food! Well worth the price. Would visit again!
Wonderful Christmas Lunch. Food was fantastic and service equally as Good
Xmas lunch was presumably not as good as regular dining, with main course obviously in part bought in. Staff OK but dining room without character. Very expensive for the outcome quality.
We had our Christmas eve dinner at Alyn Williams and it was such a wonderful experience! I came in on a wheelchair and all the staffs were super nice and kind. Not to mention the food and special Christmas dinner set menu! Made our Christmas so special :)
Delicious long lunch to celebrate my birthday with girlfriends
Quite simply a lovely restaurant that delivers wonderful food served by friendly attentive and informative staff. Taking my parents out for their first Michelin star experience the team could not have made us feel more at home and at home. The food was great. Earlier in the year the tasting menu was one of the best meals my wife and I have had and our second meal lived up to the memory of the first - the arancini, venison croquet, halibut, confit of chicken leg, beetroot salad, rhubarb sorbet with tarragon and many more touches. We will remember the evening for a very long time.
We had been looking forward to lunch but it was only good, and sometimes excellent, in parts. We had not realised until the next day that Alyn Williams had left the hotel restaurant which still bears his name. Disappointing.
Opted for the surprise tasting lunch menu. Very good value and some excellent courses. One was over salted to my taste and the desert was disappointing. The venison main course was perfect however. Overall just a little below expectations but very good nonetheless.
From the amuse bouche onwards, every minute of this dining experience was phenomenal, from the exquisitely plated food, to the immaculate service. I would recommend Alyn Williams at the Westbury without reservation. It stands head and shoulders above many 3 Michelin star restaurants in London. Thank you to the team for a wonderful afternoon.
Great food, wonderful staff, very attentive, great atmosphere, everything was absolutely outstanding!
Perfect moment, had the bespoke menu at 65£ where each courses were very good. Also met the chef and did a quick tour of the kitchen.
Would have been appreciated to have a bit bigger glass of wine when paying wine by the glass
A lovely taster menu with what seemed to be a caviar theme. The food was well executed.
The staff were very attentive, possibly because it wasn't overly busy when we were there.
I chose the 5 course bespoke tasting menu which was incredibly good value at £65. We added wine pairings, thoughtfully and charmingly provided by a wonderful sommelier. We had no idea what we were going to get but were treated to a series of delicious courses. Quail with red cabbage and potato foam, halibut with Jerusalem artichokes and hazelnuts, a divine beetroot and apple salad, lamb rump and salted caramel tart.plus amuse Bouche, petit fours and pre desert. I would not hesitate to recommend it. A great night out, v relaxed and thoroughly delicious
The food here is very interesting in an uninteresting way. What does that mean? It's not easy to articulate, but so I shall.
On the face of it, all the dishes look very familiar, and the flavours used are all near and common, mostly British and European; there's no bold mixing of wasabi for example. That seems to be the style and concept of the chef Charlie Tyler and restaurant. Use great British ingredients, and bring out the flavours.
Underneath the face of it, I can appreciate the amount of care and attention to detail to let the flavours come to the fore, without an unintentional overpowering or masking. All the main ingredients keep their great flavour, with the rest of the ingredients on the dish helping to bring it out, instead of covering of it, or each other.
High quality food, very well presented and served making a great lunch with good friends.
Nice atmosphere and high food quality. Highly efficient and accommodative service for customers in hurry like me. Strongly recommended!
Birthday between friends.
Booked as a romantic 40th birthday meal for my husband. We had the tasting menu and paired wines. It was an amazing selection of inventive and unusual combinations of food. The waiting staff were attentive and informed. When our pudding wine was accidentally forgotten they provided a superior replacement which was much appreciated. While it wasn't cheap (we never expected it to be) it was a perfect night to celebrate a big birthday.
Absolutely spectacular evening, from the food to to the ambiance to the brilliant waitstaff—a five star establishment.
This was my first visit and I was blown away by the quality of the food , intimate feel of the restaurant and cheerful helpful and charming staff. The tasting menu was superb and every course was a delight . I am already working out how quickly I can go again .
This restaurant gets consistently good reviews, and i must say they deserve every one. both the food and service was outstanding, every little detail was perfection. even down to the waiters having proper conversations about both the sourcing and preparation of the food.
Excellent.
20th birthday family lunch. Fantastic lunch great food good wine with help from really knowledgeable sommelier from Venice . Service was good and considerate. Grandpa was rather late but staff accommodated so thank you.
Hi!
My sister bought me the gift voucher as a Christmas present. My wife and I went with my parents for a lunch booking.
What a fantastic welcome we received and attentive service! It was great.
We were shown to a wonderful corner table and the menu explained.
We decided on the various courses and were very accommodating when my Mother wished to have an alternative starter.
My Father and I throughly enjoyed our partridge main course. Great flavours!
Thanks to all the team again for a wonderful lunchtime experience.
Kind regards
J & family
The tasting menu is fantastic value for money and the food was amazing. The service was very good. My only issue, and I’m aware a lot of hotels/restaurants do this, is when you are offered cheeses staff don’t tell you it’s an additional charge and not part of the menu. This is unfair and not classy. You should inform people, discreetly, that there is an additional cost so that people make an informed choice. Amazing cocktails. Overall would recommend but please review how you offer additional elements.
Incredibly surprise tasting menu!! Every course tantalised the taste buds. The service was impeccable. Add this to your must go to list!!
Excellent 5 course de jeur menu. Excellent service and high quality produce. The venue is quiet and perfect for a business lunch, couples or family (provided kids are not too young).
This was a very nice experience. The service is absolutely first class set in a quiet restaurant with plenty of room.
I booked this restaurant as a birthday treat for my wife before we were going to a show in London. The food, service and surroundings were sublime and we even got a tour of the kitchen and a chat with the Head Chef, brilliant all round and highly recommended!
