The cosy restaurant is built around the traditions of the Ayllu community of the Inca Empire. The Ayllu was a group of families that lived together, worked the land together and shared their belongings and mealtimes, just like a large family. Much like the Incan civilisation, Ayllu is about the coming together of friends and families and taking time to share an experience of great food and innovative cocktails with loved ones.
Drawing on the inspiration of the Ayllu community, the menu consists of innovative small plates, designed for the whole table to share. Traditional Peruvian flavours are paired with Japanese influences, bringing fresh and zesty aromas to each dish.

Despite the fact that it wasn’t a full house the service was painfully slow .the mains took forever like 45 minutes or so to arrive .
The ambience isn’t quite great as well ,social distancing wasn’t really well placed . They had made substantial changes to the menu uploaded on open table . So we couldn’t really have what we went there to try .
The chicken was palatable hence two star for the food but The sushi wasn’t fresh and not well crafted . Apparently they don’t have a basic soya sauce and do only version with shellfish in it so any one with prawn allergy can’t have soya with the sushi .
Overall it was a disappointing experience .

My dining experience at Ayllu was one of the best I've had in a long time. The food was exceptional. The flavours and infusion between Japanese and Peruvian worked really well and everything we ordered was cooked amazingly! The Octopus a la plancha and rack of Lamb were so delicious and the sushi was some of the best I've ever had. This accompanied with the excellent service means I'll definitely be going back again!
It was an excellent birthday meal for my partner - one we will certainly remember.

Have walked past this place countless times and always thought it was just a pub as it’s combined with a bar called Smith’s. The Peruvian food was outstanding, some of the best ceviche we’ve had in London.

aaylu pictures are misleading the basement restaurant is closed it’s jidt smith bar and grill with a different menu. Also overbooked us and told us to sit outside in the cold.

Really tasty food. Very slow (but friendly) service. Only 2 members of staff for the whole restaurant. Taking orders, clearing and making the cocktails!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and amazing pisco sours! We had the Traditional Peruvian tasting menu for two, which was delicious. Also ordered a couple sushi plates as well, which ended up being the perfect amount of food for two. The Peruvian pulled chicken was by far my favorite, but all of the main dishes were absolutely delicious!

The downstairs area which is the more intimate space as pictured was closed so we had to sit with the crowd upstairs in Smith's Bar.
It was bustling with noise (as it's a bar), but I cannot fault the service we were given, every few moments we were checked on whether we needed anything or whether the food was good.
The great thing is that you can actually mix the menu with the standard offering from Smith's as well as the unique fusion of Ayllu.
The smoked octopus is a must have!
Would highly recommend and go again, but just be prepared to sit with the crowd that's just there for Smith's Bar.

Unsympathetic staff, specially the managers, who even salute us as they approached the table for the first time. The food was utterly poor and doesn’t worth the price.
We had an amazing evening, food was delicious and very unique. We loved the ceviche and grilled octopus! My friend had dietary restrictions and they very kindly prepared a dish meeting all of them just for her.

We started off arriving at the venue not even sure if we were at ‘ayllu’ as it was extremely unclear from the signposting. The cocktails tasted way too alcoholic, not a nice taste. I ordered the ayllu lamb chops but received the grilled ones instead. Very poor service and poor quality food and drink. Would not recommend.

As soon as we arrived we were told the restaurant hadn't actually re-opened yet and we'd be eating in Smiths. Although it wasn't a big problem because Smiths is so spacious so plenty of room, it isn't what i'd booked. The pics of the restaurant on the website look like a very different experience and atmosphere to Smiths. I think we should have been emailed upon making the booking to tell us the restaurant wasn't open yet so we could make a decision if we still wanted to come.
1st time eating here, food was very impressive. All dishes we ordered were very tasty. Especially the yellow fin. I think the steak is overpriced for amount of meat you get. In fact I think if I hadn't had the 25% off I would have thought it was a bit too expensive for what we had. Cocktails were nice and 2for1 offer is great. Service was good.
