A kebab worth sitting down for.
We’re talking big flavours, vibrant, natural, locally produced ingredients and succulent cuts of meat. Watch our team of creative chefs make fresh flatbreads, from scratch, in our open theatre-style kitchen. We cook all of our flatbreads on a robata grill, giving each kebab that lovely charcoal flavour.
We know what works when it comes to kebabs and so all you need to do is sit down, relax and enjoy.
BAB is open for comfortable, casual dining 7 days a week, 12pm-10pm.
There was a great atmosphere and the staff looked after us well. We shall definitely go back.
This was our third visit. Would not hesitate in recommending this place. But BOOK A TABLE. So many walk ins had to be turned away. Excellent food. Will try the beef cheeks next time.
Great food and good service. Would definitely recommend
Lovely find in the NQ, small but not too cramped. Really good service and good value for money. I opted for the Chicken which was actually thigh meat so a little fatty for me as i'm usually a non meat eater but my BF ordered the beef cheek and was very impressed! The greek fries were the BEST part and I would go back just for them. Despite my thigh meat, I'd still 100% recommend a visit.
Food was so good, recommend the greek fries to anyone! good array of beer too
Great food and atmosphere, although could've been tended to in regards of getting more drinks without having to ask. Only compaint on the food was the chips being too salty, otherwise spot on!
Will be back...
Very tasty Kebabs and something superior to the local takeaway variety.
Second time in BAB and excellent again. Can’t fault it. 👍😃
Came for a quick meal with my partner before heading to the arena - really tasty kebabs + great service
great food, great staff and a lovely atmosphere :)
Good food with friendly service
Had hoped for an elevated Byzantine experience, something to rival Bernejak in London. Wish them luck but the overall experience left us flat.
Our first time in Manchester and this place was recommended to us by a family friend. The food was unbelievable and The service fabulous too! We shared a starter and 2 mains with a few drinks each! Can’t recommend highly enough fantastic value for money!
Went on Friday 7:30, warm welcome & stlish, friendly very relaxed environment. Got served quickly but food took ages to come - all around were tables of people waiting for their food. It left me feeling like there was a staff shortage & a bit edgy. It was all a bit hectic but not in a good way. But I’d give them another go as it is a good concept & friendly people .... just missed the mark that night ... sorry guys
The starters of Honey Roast fog salad and the lamb bon bons were the highlights
Food was great, service was a little hit and miss. Our server was super friendly, but it was so busy he could have done with someone else serving too.
Great tasting food again will be returning again in the next few weeks
Heard a lot o good praise for Bab so was well looking forward to going.
However was left very disappoint. The kebab- what should be their USP fell far short of expectations. So bland, basic and just boring. Honestly would have been more impressed with a chicken shop/fast food kebab you'd get after a night out.
The Pork Souvlaki kebab was DELICIOUS! Would also highly recommend the greek fries and hummus!
It was really nice but it seemed a bit haphazard, not sure if it was because it was busy but the staff seemed quite rushed and made a few mistakes with our order. Nonetheless, the food was nice and we will be back.
Loved it here! We all tried a different kebab (I had the pork souvlaki which was slightly fatty but overall really good) and shared 2 Greek fries which were delish. The restaurant itself is cool (and dog friendly!) and the staff were amazing, really attentive, friendly and quick service. Definitely going back to try the meze dishes next time!
Need to up their chip game. Some feta on standard kebab shop chips shouldn't be a 5er. Luckily we visited with a 50% off kebabs... would have been disappointed paying 9.50 for maybe what I would consider medium kebab... Sauces where nice tho. Over all better chips and bit more food in the flatbread. maybe introduce a pitta option.
Bad service - waited 30 minutes for our food even if the place wasnt full.
Howver the portions were good and tasted good.
Attended the restaurant during a busy Saturday early evening having read reviews on other sites. It did not disappoint. Service was friendly and efficient and food was of an excellent standard, served at just the right pace for a group of 4 guys looking to enjoy a few drinks with the food. Only very minor gripe would be that the restaurant was quite cold although it may be that I just couldn’t warm up having come straight from the match and having got wet on route. Kebabs were excellent but I would stop short of saying the best i’ve had. Not to be critical but the meat to vegetables ratio was disproportionate i.e. a lot of vegetables and not that much meat. That would be my only complaint and very minor as was well cooked and presented. Greek fries also highly recommended.
It is really nice the food is very good and good value. It is located in a small street but it is totally worth going there!
Great food and friendly service the waitresses was really nice, funny and attentive. Great value for money especially as we got the January food deal 50% of food. Will be going back again for sure
Great kebab ....... !! Brilliant addition to NQ
Could be improved by selling some local draft beer ( Cloudwater/ Runaway/Shindigger etc) 👍🏼
Food good value although it was on the 50% deal but I thought the staff were excellent.
Amazing food, good service - but it was FREEZING in there! Had a draft coming from somewhere so couldn't get cosy and properly enjoy. Would be better if they did takeaway so we can enjoy GREAT kebabs from the sofa, in the warmth.
Great food and location
Bab - what a cool concept, love the menu, there's loads to pick from and it's all super clean, fresh and tasty.
Great birthday lunch. Lovely service and very tasty food.
Slower service, but very good when they were there! Food was delicious! Very good overall experience!
This was a new find.
The menu is short and simple but well executed.
The food is all about kebabs and mezze :)
All is made in house and would really recommend the pork souvlaki with greek fries!
Value for money is very good.
Staff helpful and attentive.
The only negative was the resturant was a little cold inside for this time of the year.
Would recommend and will go back.
Quirky but absolutely freezing! Looks pretty impossible to heat in winter. Staff rather zoned out. I had a good salad half price, but really that's about what I'd pay for it anyway. Liked the setting, liked the decor, liked the location. Food fine.
The starters were really nice, but the portions tiny. Three small 'Lamb Bon-Bons' whilst tasting great were not good value. The octopus/squid was similar. The bread for the Kebabs was excellent and the meat was good. They had no deserts available when we visited. The servers were good. We would have tipped but there was no availability to add it to the terminal at the end.
We arrived early and a good thing we did, the place was empty when we arrived for Friday lunch quickly filled up. Not many waiting staff so be prepared for little wait times for ordering and drinks. When the food comes its great. Think of it as a healthy kebab!
AMAZING kebabs, tasty fries and lovely wine. Perfect night but most definitely recommend! Wonderful addition to the MCR dining scene.
Delicious food. I had the haloumi. It comes on a big thin naan bread (not hanging like I thought!) Really great and had the Greek fries to share which were yum! Deffo will come back
This was my second visit to BAB and I’m already thinking when can I go back? We went on 50% discount offer but the food is so reasonably priced I would happily pay full price. Great addition to the Northern Quarter.
Great food, would highly recommend the chicken bab and the greek chips. Obviously a very different style but I think it beats Turkish Delight in chorlton.
Food took a little longer than we wanted, but we went at prime lunch time with the 50% off offer (January), so the wait was to be expected.
Only criticism would be the choice of draft beers, I'm not a massive fan of amstel or moretti. Would like to see something like shindigger IPA if possible.
