Our straightforward modern menu which may change a little each week as our Head Chef Loren is constantly looking to bring new and exciting dishes to our table, is uniquely designed around seasonal produce from carefully selected suppliers and artisan producers across Italy and the UK. Our wines and spirits are selected from small producers chosen either to enhance our dishes or to be appreciated independently. We have a bespoke range of cocktails too!
Great food. Nice for sharing small plates
Little local gem on the Roman Rd. Had both a cosy and buzzy atmosphere when we visited on a Friday night. Service was efficient and friendly on both occasions I’ve visited. Authentic flavoursome Italian food- with an emphasis on cicchetti (small tapas style dishes) on the menu. And to finish I had the tiramisu, which was one of the best I’ve tasted. Well worth a visit!
Great choice, when you want small plates. We ordered 5 between the two of us and they where all delicious.
Terrible service and very poor food. The staff had to be reminded twice to come and take orders during meal despite the fact they were dead. The sirloin steak was a frying steak at best. Very disappointed
Great dishes served quickly, delicious and great value
Love this place - great food, welcoming ambience, plus they have great offers on the quieter nights of the week.
This place is consistently excellent, such a gem. You can easily share many small plates and be satisfied. The wine is good at a great value.
Really nice restaurant with really good food. It was a very very good dinner that we had but the place was too noisy. In any case, we would repeat.
Great food, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for better evening out. We were very well looked after by Marco and the team from moment one. We will definitely be heading back!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff & amazing delicious food! Calamari were probably one of the best I had and I would recommend the truffle tortelloni. Will definitely return!
The food is delicious and the menu has a great mix. The service unfortunately was not great. We ordered small plates and pasta and it all arrived at once, there was little space on the table for anything else. The waitress didn't speak at all when food was put on the table. I would go back as the food was worth it but a shame that the service wasn't great.
Service was great. Nice wine options.
Food was fine but not impressed by dessert. Toilets were dirty.
delicious food, friendly staff, great ambience, what's not to love?
Lovely birthday lunch at the restaurant - will definitely be back for an evening dinner.
Food was really nice, little details were amazing. Balsamic vinegar for example was so tasty!
Really nice smooth Malbec and great cocktails too. Staff were also lovely and friendly.
Will be back for sure
As always Bacaro’s food never disappoints. New summer menu really tasty. We’ll keep on coming back!!
Only negative was that it was extremely hot in the heat wave and, as we were 5, we were seated deep in the restaurant. Otherwise, great staff and food.
food was OK, little touches like dirty glasses were disappointing
As usual Bacaro never dissapoints! Excellent ingredients quality and great friendly service makes the visit very worth. A neighbourhood gem!
What a great find! Made a last minute reservation on New Year's Eve day, ducked in from the rain, and had a very enjoyable meal. Great food, terrific and shareable apps, good wine selection, and perfect service. Sat in the window which was fun even though it doesn't boast an amazing view. This is the kind of place we'd frequent often if we lived nearby -- plan to visit again upon our return to the neighborhood, and can see why it gets good reviews already. Thanks Bacaro!
As usual, Bacaro never disappoints. The new winter menu is delicious and even if the service was new for me, it was impeccable, they make you feel at home. We will be back!
Decent food - i really enjoyed the seafood pasta.
However my mates believe their food tasted like it had been warmed up from a frozen state.
We also ordered lamb meatballs, and while steaming on the outside, they were cold in the centre.
Our entrees took a bit of time (3 pasta dishes) so the staff comped us a glass of olives.
Local place following the cicchetti trend. Ok.. nothing more really and wasn't too expensive
I wasn’t very impressed with Bacaro - mainly the service. The restaurant was empty and we asked to be moved to a table away from the draughty door but weren’t allowed! We had also gone for the bottomless Sunday lunch option (which turned out to be £29 rather than £25 advertised) but the service with refilling drinks was INCREDIBLY slow, despite there only being one other occupied table, and waiters seemed reluctant to refill at all so don’t feel this was very good value for money. Food was average - pasta portion was very small for a main course!
Great food, great atmosphere and tiramisu to die for :)
We visited this restaurant for a nice meal and night out in East London the decor and furnishings were very good the staff are very friendly and food amazing would certainly recommend whether you're having an evening meal or a brunch
Really enjoyed the food, especially the starters/small plates. A nice restaurant which is a cut above the others in the area.
We loved this place! So pleased we are now living close by. We will be returning very soon. Food was delicious and service was friendly and impeccable.
Another great meal at Bacaro. Took my father who was visiting London and he was delighted with it all. Food is very good value, menu is varied, obviously run by people who care about good food. Will be back!
Excellent, so long as you understand that the mains are very small portions - definitely quality not quantity - so you'll need to order a side as well, and you'll want a dessert or a starter or both if you're not going to go hungry. Good ambience and great buzz, although all those hard surfaces make it a hell of a noisy place once it starts filling up. Open Table's tickbox review form offers 'quiet conversation' as an option - not here folks, unless there's just the two of you and the speaker volume's on whisper... Message for Open Table - why on earth does one of your tickboxes ask if places are Paleo friendly? Are vegetarians and vegans and other non-mainstream eaters now outnumbered by wannabe cave people? Is Paleo such a thing now? Who knew?
Excellent evening, good food, good wine and great atmosphere.
Awesome as always!!
Really recommend the tallarini with seafood, delicious!
Great local, delicious food which is more varied than the usual Italian fare. All of our mains were exemplary. One word of advice, the portions were rather generous and we did struggle to finish them. The starters were recommended as 2-3 per person, we had 2 each and were full before the main had arrived.
Great local place. Super friendly helpful staff. Yummy food. Definitely recommend
Second time here and we were once again thrilled with the food and the service. An ever-changing menu keeps it exciting and we'll come again and again!
Good food, good quality, I went with my date and, having a booking for 21:45, I was called on the phone to please get there earlier as the kitchen would close soon (they're supposed to close at 23:00 according to Google), once there they kept prompting us to order asap, that was annoying.
My wife and I dined here on Saturday evening as it is local to where we live, we sat at a table near the fan which was good as it was a warm evening and quickly received the menus and a very helpful description of the suitable dairy free dishes for my self. We ordered 3 small cicchetti plates as well as bread and olives and when they arrived I thought that it would not be enough but in reality they were suffice, and very tasty too. Squid, Sausage and Artichoke a nice mix.For main a seafood dish for my wife and a steak for me which were both cooked well along with some sides of vegetables. Being dairy free I never really have dessert and on this occasion we were both too full to even look. Due to some medication I am taking i'm off alcohol at present so cannot comment on the wine list. All in all a nice meal and we shall return in the future
Great evening. Booked here through reading other diners' reviews and were not disappointed at all. Welcoming and professional staff for whom nothing was too much effort. Good range of food supported by staff comments that helped us in our choice of both food and wine. Lovely food in fun environment where we could enjoy the buzz of the restaurant but still be able to feel we could be there 'on our own'. We'll be back.
Fabulous! The restaurant was packed on a Friday night with both food and atmosphere justifying it. It deserves to attract people from across London, not just be a local gem, so hope it does so. Nduja gnocchi and squid ink tagliatelle were stand-out dishes for us.
Excellent food, i had the deep fried chicken pasta as a starter and this was very tasty followed by the seafood squid ink tagliatelle which again was delicious! The portions were a good size and the wine a good accompaniment. Four of us dinned and all enjoyed the food thoroughly which is always a good sign.
The only gripe i have is that there was powdered pepper provided for seasoning, i'm not sure I've ever seen this out side of canteens and this didn't fit well with the surroundings, aside from becoming a 'pepper snob' i will definitely be going back as i had a great evening!
