What a perfect little spot! We had a lovely view of the castle walking up to the restaurant and once inside it was lovely and cosy. Very Instagrammable! We had brunch for a friend's hen and they were so accommodating and lovely. Brilliant service and delicious cocktails. Would definitely go back!

Restaurant was very warm. One main course had to be sent back because it wasn’t hot. Not much choice for vegetarians.

This was absolutely perfect place for Easter Lunch, very child friendly. The food was delicious and the staff went over and above in their delivery of service. Highly recommend Badger and Co.
Loving the theme of Wind In The Willows 😊

Great place. Food was delicious, service was first-class. Great ambiance - apart from TV showing sports. Thankfully we were in the dining room but the screens are totally incongruous and detract massively from a really cool vibe.

Excellent lounge/restaurant which we’ve used on a number of previous occasions.
Nice lounge bar adjacent to restaurant.
Restaurant area is new and very comfortable.
Food, wine and service are excellent offering very good value.
Booked via IHG/Opentable and still awaiting the points to be allocated a week later!

The restaurant was very quiet and whilst our table was pleasantly situated at the window with comfortable chairs the meal was a bit of a let down. The lamb dish in particular was disappointing and having pointed this out we were offered a discount or complimentary teas and coffees. The staff were very pleasant but I would be reluctant to recommend it to anyone.

This was our first visit to Badger & Co. It was a bit busy (with it being a Saturday) and our table wasn't ready but we sat in the bar area with a drink until the table was available. There's a good choice of food and it's well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Atmosphere and service was very good, also good selection of drinks, however the food was not what I expected. Even though the quality was great, the portions were small, garnish/ accompliments very poor and for that I found that food prices were too high for what provided. Because of the very friendly and really accommodating staff as well as the variety of drinks I would definitely recommend for drinks and for a date.

The food was good and the prices weren't too high. The service could be improved as we had to get up from our table a number of times just to get the attention of the waiter/waitress round the corner at the till area. Cocktails were very nice.

We had a lovely lunch for Mothering Sunday. Had two children and great wee party bags and tasty food. Loved the decoration, relaxed atmosphere and food was very tasty, especially the apple tart pudding. Not the cheapest for lunch but worth it for the quality of the food and the lovely surroundings. The only thing we weren't so keen on were the pumpkin fritters we had as a nibble, otherwise food was excellent.

Really like this restaurant. Has great service and fabulous food. Atmosphere is good with a mix of clientele and unobtrusive music playing. We visited on a Sunday. Relatively busy considering the quietness of other establishments. I ordered Frito Misto but it didn't come with scallops which was the reason I had ordered. However it was very good and I really enjoyed it. We ordered steaks for the mains which were perfectly cooked with a great chargrill flavour. Sides were very nice too. Definitely will visit again as I enjoy the restaurant , food and the service.

We made a reservation and got the best seat in the house. The staff were funny and friendly, the food was even better than we expected, and it was a gorgeous place just off Princes st.

We will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone looking for a special experience.

They had a menu special 2 steaks & 2 sides for £25 and it was large portions and amazing flavors.

Me and my wife spent a really nice evening, really nice food and atmosphere!
A little feedback about the game pie, the previous menu description, the one mentioning the chance of finding traces of shots, was more appealing of the actual one, it sounded more organic and honestly also quite unique.

Oh dear. This restaurant will not survive in a competitive market like edinburgh if improvements are not made. I have never experienced such a bad attitude from a ‘manager’ ever. The decor is nice, the menu was ok. The food (roast chicken for me and fish and chips for my friend) was nice. The wine was nice and reasonably priced but the ambiance was lacking and the service was down right awful. The waitress didn’t seem interested and the ‘manager’ was literally just wandering about. Big heavy chairs were literally being dragged around when one table finished and they were getting it ready for the next poeple, we werent asked how our food was, did we want additional drinks.....nothing. And when i offered some feedback about our experience the manager was not interested, didn’t listen and then had the cheek to just say’well youre not listening to me’ and just got our bill. We would have had more wine and possibly a cocktail and sat for the rest of the afternoon if the experience had been different, but instead we paid the bill and walked across the road where we spent £50 in Copper Blossom instead, which as usual was fabulous. Poor show Badger and Co. I will never walk through the door again.

Enjoyed the cocktails. Two items had been left off the sharing platter, which we had to ask for. No side plates given for sharing platter. No apology either. Forgot to give cutlery for mains too. When steak came, the peppercorn sauce had been forgotten too. After asking twice for it, I gave up. Empty water jugs taken away but not replenished - had to ask again. Disappointing service, after hearing good things.

Unfortunately, having been recommended to us, the whole experience was not as we expected. It began with the senior staff member not knowing what gins he had at the bar, except the more obvious ones. The service was slow and inconsistent. An example of this was that having ordered a glass of white wine, we waited...........and it didn’t appear, despite other drinks being served. When asked, apology was given but then, 2 glasses of wine were brought to the table, the second brought by a second member of staff, 5 minutes after the first!! Some main course portions were large, where others were small. If you are hard of hearing, you might find it difficult to pick up on table conversation as it becomes very noisy. This isn’t peculiar to this restaurant alone, of course, but it was tricky for some at our table for seven. Overall, we had dined at better places.

Very central casual restaurant offering good food and terrific service. Food was delicious, although I would avoid the spelt topped fish pie in future (poor choice on my part). Other four main choices were excellent. Warm welcoming atmosphere in a Quality establishment. Recommended.
And an absolute steal when they have offers on.

Another trip to badger, could do with a refresh on some of the menu, food fine, staff lovely but in a competitive market needs to up its game a bit. Drinks v slow at outset but gathered pace once started dining.

Wouldn’t put me off a return but would like something different to try.
