First things first, the theme and layout are outstanding. From the artwork to the chandeliers to the leather chairs, just lovely. When being shown to my table we actually had to pause to politely allow a woman to finish taking her pictures of it. Service wise, superb. It was very busy and there was a group celebrating a ladies birthday but all the staff were attentive to everyone that I could see, and I noticed how they handled a mistake with an order on the table next to me superbly and from what I could tell the couple left very satisfied. Onto myself and not my people watching, I had the scallops, lamb and torte, and loved it all. My only tiny little downer was it was quite noisy, but with the afore mentioned birthday group and how busy it was that would be insanely nitpicky to mark it down. Can’t fault a thing.

Fabulous restaurant and food was divine. There was not enough staff on, but the ones there were brilliant and did their absolute best to keep up with demand!

We selected this venue due to the excellent Scottish menu on the website only to find that 85% of it was no longer available, very disappointing start to our evening. There was only a limited menu available, I settled for a very large steak pie, no accompanying veggie even although it was £14.00, the meat could have been cooked a tad longer the pastry non discript . The wine selection proved to be quite good. I won't be back for food.

Terrible lunch but dealt with professionally by manager. Everything that could go wrong, did, from bad food, poor service etc. Manager fessed up and dealt with so no complaints but the place has undoubtedly taken a turn for the worse on the food front. What was once a great experience is sadly now an non starter.

Was very good, food was ok. I got the avacado on toast.. it was a bit bland, there was no citrus and chive and felt like it had just been thrown together, atmosphere was good though.

The interior and atmosphere are amazing, and the staff attentive and polite. The food was a bit of a let down - I was expecting better quality and not something that partly tasted and looked like it had come out of a ready made, frozen meal. Not a bad taste, just a bit dull...

Sunday lunch with family at B and co. Booked through opentable but never received the 25% discount as promised. Shouldn’t have to ask, if booked through the website then should have been automatically deducted so feel a bit sad about that. Food wise everything good as ever, pies always great though think there was an issue with the fryer as chips and fish not as crispy as they should be or have been before. Roast dinner a bargain and great value for money but similar issues with roast potatoes. Would still return. Staff good and drinks fine.

Badger & Co seemed very promising from what others had written on here.

While the quality of service and atmosphere were nice, the food and value for money let this place down badly. My lamb (£18ish) came cold and unseasoned, and my other half's salad (around the £15 mark) was also very disappointing. If the food was £10 cheaper it would be fine, but at these price points this is simply sub-par. They also do a range of pies which look rather good, if you must go here I would try these and avoid the hazards on the rest of the menu.

I do not recommend Badger & Co as far as food is concerned.

Had lunch with friends a few weeks ago and food was excellent. Returned with other friends as we had enjoyed it so much. Food poor. Haddock croquettes were dry. Cullen skink had no white sauce in it, too dry unlike previous visit. On plus side game pie was enjoyed by one of our friends. Will not be back.

A group of friends and I booked a table here before for pre-fireworks dinner, mostly based on the location being near the west end of Princes St for castle views. But the food and service were excellent. We had an extra person and they were happy to accommodate. Drinks, apps and food came out in good time and everyone loved their meals. Cullen Skink pie and fish & chips were standouts. Great craft beer list and cozy /dark ambience inside. Our server was great. would recommend!

lovely lunch on the last day of the festival. no set menus during August (like most places) so had to go a la carte, but a great choice of dishes - one of us had the tuna and it was perfect, another had spicy prawn gadogado, delicious - I had the lamb and it was very very tasty, but im glad I ordered a side of chips as it only came with a bit of rocket so on its own it would have fallen short of a 'lunch' there should really be some veg or potato
The ambiance is excellent with luxurious decor and seating, and the staff lovely and helpful. we had a bottle of house white and this was very good value. would definitely visit again when in edinburgh

This venue was inviting and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. My wife really enjoyed her meal from beginning to end. I had a bad experience that was not addressed.
Unfortunately, I ordered the oven roasted cod which most restaurants find easy to get right. Not so Badger & Co. The cod was largely raw and uncooked and tasted awful - I thought perhaps it had been prepared by a sushi chef. When I mentioned this to the waiter, the response I got was 'I'll tell the chef'. No apology, no offer to send it back to the kitchen, no recompense. A total disaster for my main course in complete contrast to the experience of my wife. We will not be going back there. There's plenty of restaurants out there that can get this right and deal satisfactorily with such a disaster.
