The food was good and I loved the ambiance. We got the chicken and the pork chop. My husband loved the pork chop and we both enjoyed the mac and cheese. They also had some really good cocktails. The service was slow when we were there we had to get up and ask for more drinks as our server never returned to the table. I also heard other guests complaining that the server had not come back to check on them. Other than that it was a a great place to eat.

Unfortunately the service was very slow, food took over an hour to arrive and we had to keep asking for drinks top up etc. I had said on my notes it was my daughter’s 18th and yet no fuss was made except to allow us to bring our cake out. Just felt like we were more of an inconvenience than welcome guests.

Lesley, We’re sorry to hear you left feeling disappointed, especially on your daughter’s 18th — that’s not the experience we want for our guests. We always try to balance attentiveness with giving space, and as only 4 of 8 guests were drinking, we aimed not to be intrusive, though drinks were offered throughout. Food arrived 35 minutes after ordering during peak dinner service for a table of 8. While that’s not the speed we always aim for, we do feel it’s a reasonable wait for freshly prepared dishes. We brought out your cake and added candles to make a fuss — we're sorry if that didn’t come across as heartfelt. We understand that perception matters, and we’re truly sorry you felt more like an inconvenience than welcome guests. It certainly wasn’t our intention. Best, Team Badger

The new menu is made for sharing and that's what we did! Everything was fresh and delicious. Will be back to try other dishes and will be telling friends to visit.

The venue's interior design is lovely to look at, comfortable lighting and unique in a greenery and shabby chic way. Gilded frames 'portraits' of badgers and other animals. Our party of 4 adults had 2 higher chairs and 2 lower (armchairs) at the table. Ok for us but the low ones were not the easiest for eating from the table. Staff polite but we waited far too long between courses to be served, with unprofessional apologies of 'we've got a big party to deal with' - from 3 separate servers when we had to prompt them for our order. There was plenty staff on duty and we were in the main restaurant, so were not impressed to be ignored for a private party downstairs. Food was good, beautifully presented, and the kitchen happily complied with an ingredient intolerance issue. Toilets very clean. The quirky decor is fun and was the reason we booked, food's good too, but the service really let the place down. I doubt if we'll be back.

Lovely restaurant with great food. Waiter was great. It was lovely to get a seat outside for drinks after the meal. Even supplied cozy blankets . Would definitely go back. Wine by the glass pricey but I expect its the same in all city centre establishments. If there's a few ov you best to get a bottle

Very knowledgeable, accommodating, polite and pleasant service. Lovely atmosphere, fish and chips is superb. Wine selection is a bit limited but I enjoyed my pick. Highly recommend.
