The best steak and haggis pie meal I've ever had was hot tasty and filling, wife's plant based option looked and tasted superb. The staff were friendly and helpful atmosphere and surroundings very comfortable

My friend and I had Sunday lunch at Badger & Co last year during our weekend visit to Edinburgh. We loved it so much, we had to book again this year! The food is fabulous, the staff are lovely and the place has a great atmosphere too. Love the quirky theme. Will be back in 2024!

The onion tarte tatin was very good but came sitting on a sheet of greaseproof paper. However, we were not charged for it. The turkey paupiette was quite good but the roast potatoes and the pigs in blankets were very underdone, there were no parsnips and only three sprouts. The staff were quick to react and showed their concern at the shortcomings by giving us a discount on the bill.

We didn't eat but wouldn't let me not score. Lovely pub to sit in, very reasonable prices in the centre of Edinburgh. Beautifully decorated and cozy to sit in. Staff were very friendly.

The venue was lovely, very disappointed with the food, both meals were cold. We came specifically for the chicken pie which was unavailable and we were not told this until we placed the order. Both meals arrived Luke warm, when these were replaced it was the same meals we got back which I assumed had been microwaved. Not something I expected from this high class establishment. The cocktails and service were fantastic

Busy season has kicked off! The place was packed, the service was still on point, food was super tasty. Become my go-to for catching up with friends, great food and drinks, and not squeezed in—lots of menu choices. Staff are still friendly and chatty even when it's super busy. Great experience all round.

Service was average. Table not ready when we arrived at our booked time. Table was available, but not cleared and reset. On two occasions the waiter was rather rude/short when I asked for something (missing side dish and condiments). I put this down to him running around frantically as I suspect they were understaffed. The guy did a decent job, but felt the response was not justified. A fair bit noisier than I expected, which was fine. However, the language from the group behind me as I sat with 2 small children wasn’t ideal. Nothing the venue can do really but something to be aware of. Decent place with good food. However, plenty alternatives with just as good food, with cheaper prices and better service.

It’s been a while since we’d been out as a family for Sunday lunch and I’m so glad we chose Badger & Co. The sirloin roast was delicious, as were the veggies and Yorkshire pud. A good time was had by all, service was great and the ambience perfect. We’ll be back.

The food was amazing and the service was very friendly and flexible The bar and lounge was dog friendly but not the restaurant. If you bring a dog I recommend calling first as the lounge was fully booked so we ate at the bar with the dog.

It would be useful if it was pointed out to customers that a service charge is included in the bill and then they can decide whether they want to leave a further tip or not

Excellent food as always. We love this place and wish they had a branch in London. Haggis loaded fries was amazing (quite filling though), shared between three of us. The pies and lamb was also very good. They didn't have the amazing Caesar salad that we had years ago but they did have other new things on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit!

Really nice chilled experience with good food and great service. Wait team picked up on it being a birthday celebration which was lovely. Very nice vibe in the restaurant with good food delivered hot and on time. Great cocktails and wine selection. Really good, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Very attentive, chilled servers.

The Sunday Roast was disappointing. The vegetables were barely cooked through, the potatoes tasted boiled. I would prefer roast potatoes and the vegetarian gravy was salty water.

We brought our dog along for food and drinks, she was brought a bowl and some treats to keep her occupied. The meal and wine was great for the price. The staff were friendly and efficient and even took time to say hello to our dog.

Really enjoyed our visit. Very friendly, lovely ambiance. The food was great. I did find a few grizzly bits of chicken in my pie and I thought just under £18 was a tad expensive for what is essentially pie and mash but was happy to pay it because on the whole it was very good. My daughter had the field burger & fries which she really enjoyed. Had a couple of glasses of a very nice Picpoul de pinet which was very reasonably priced. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and there was a nice buzz to the restaurant. There are references and nods to Wind in the willows throughout and we loved these quirky touches. We would definitely visit again when in Edinburgh. Would recommend.

Staff great and could not do enough for my dog Finn Food wise the fish and chips were excellent one of the best bits of haddock ive ever had cooked to perfection in light batter My wifes lamb “ rump “ was actually 2 very small slices cooked well but for over £25 should have been more than a quarter of a rump so we felt a little ripped off i suggest looking at the portion size of this dish or at least managing the customers expectation of what they will received

Will you book specially because we had seen the restaurant the day before and it was for my daughter's birthday. The place we were staying at was awful and we were really looking forward to a special meal. When we arrived, we were told that at 8 pm on a Sunday all the things we were looking forward to ordering had run out. We nearly went somewhere else but decided to stay as the service were lovely and we had already ordered drinks. I had the lamb which was nearly £29. I had two pieces of lamb on the plate about the size of a chicken nugget, each and one of those pieces was half fat. We were just super disappointed with the whole thing.

The staff were lovely and happy to help, so the review isn't a reflection on them at all. Unfortunately we chose Badger & Co for the advertised Sunday roast. While the meat was good, the rest of the dish was pretty disappointing. The Yorkshire pudding was particularly bad - I've literally seen more height on a pancake! Overall an average meal and wouldn't head back.

Such a brilliant experience every time. This is upmarket, but affordable and the staff are friendly and kind. The menu is great, lots of interesting choices and decent options for vegans and vegetarians. The drinks menu is broad and has lots of cocktails, wines and spirits. The decor is lovely, lots of clever Wind in the Willows nods to look for.

At 1315 we were told the ‘soup wasn’t ready yet?’ Idle of lunch time? Then ‘run out’ of skimmed and semi skimmed milk for coffee? really? Service was slow as we had to cancel coffee in the end as was taking too long and all had trains to catch. Probably won’t be back.
