We had a wonderful evening for our friends birthday. The restaurant is beautiful & classy & the food was delicious. Wait staff were all king, attentive & smiley. Will definitely go again
Staff very obliging and friendly and lovely Xmas atmosphere
Great location to meet and enjoy a few hours, food was tasty portions were okay.
Very nice food served in a lovely atmosphere. Lots of Christmas lunches going on. We will go back.
Excellent service and also excellent food, love the decor very nice and cosy feeling. Cocktails not too bad either
Lovely food at an affordable price, however the house wine was £27 a bottle which is a bit steep. The only other issue was that the spot lightning was too dark. Everything else was perfect
The choice on the lunch menu didn't suit my tastes. Everything was quite heavy. With a very small appetite I'd have appreciated a choice that didn't involve bread and/or chips. A light bite choice with salad would be nice.
There was a strange ambient smell to the venue that wasn't entirely pleasant.
Service was good.
Nice meal, expensive but for Edinburgh City centre didn't expect cheaper.
Friendly staff and a great look about the place
Amazing food and good service. Already booked to go back.
Lovely room with a good atmosphere Food and drink was excellent and service friendly and efficient
This was my first time visiting and it didn’t disappoint. Food was lovely, although not sure one slice of bread can be called a sandwich, it was lovely though. I will be back
We had a wonderful time; staff were accommodating; food and wine delicious and great decor and ambiance. Highly recommend.
Food and service was great!
Great location and had a really nice feel inside. Loved the decor. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Service was very slow - around 40 minutes before our coffee arrived. Breakfast was cold and overcooked and scrambled eggs were watery.
Food delicious, service very very slow. Servers could pay attention to tables more as we sat there waiting ages even to be offered drinks. To many socialising rather than working
Beautiful place, lovely food & good service. Highly recommend!
Intimate surroundings, great food and great value. Ideal location for a birthday dinner.
We had a lovely meal and very pleasant staff and great service
Here as a family of six. Some had Sunday roast which is fabulous. Beef is the best I’ve had in a Sunday roast - not to be missed. Others had burger and steak sandwich and fish and chips. Everyone very happy. Service was great. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Will be back soon!
Slow service, nice but cold main food for some of our party.Chips which accomanied themwere all hot.All coffees were cold when they arrived but replaced with hot coffees which were deducted from our bill.
What a fabulous place!!! Amazing, fresh wholesome food, fantastic service and atmosphere and also the music was spot on! Will definitely be back and could t recommend anymore!!
Really interesting menu choices! I had sirloin in peppercorn and whisky sauce which was nice but maybe a bit OTT on the peppercorns.
My husband has North Sea fish and chips which are the best we have ever tasted!
Son had chicken goujons which were way above the usual standard for a kids menu.
Nice doorman and very friendly staff.
Absolutely love it here! Fantastic service from all the staff, and fab food and drinks!
We had lunch here and our first impressions were very good. The décor and ambience is very nice. We ordered wine which I felt at £28 was expensive for house wine. The wine was nice. Our food order consisted of Eggs Benedict with Haggis on a muffin and Steak pie topped with mash. My wife enjoyed the muffin but the Steak pie and mash lacked flavour and there was not enough mash. Overall we enjoyed our lunch but I would choose something different next time
Excellent experience - quality offering and service with a nice relaxed approach
WOW!!! Talk about feeling like a princess! We let them know it was our anniversary when we made reservations, they gave us a incredible window table and immediately brought us Prosecco. Our meals we excellent and we thought we couldn’t fit dessert. BUT they brought us a beautiful plate with 2 delicious brownies and “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate! Well, we suddenly found some room since it was so delicious. The staff and service were top notch and food was excellent with great value for the price. This will become a regular stop whenever we visit Edinburgh.
Lovely food in a great location with friendly staff.
Exterior looks lovely but very elegant interior. Must say staff lovely, attentive and portions were large. Strongly recommended
Our second time back while in Edinburgh. Service was great, food was delicious.
I came for the name (I have a thing about badgers) but was delighted to find a really cosy restaurant with a great menu, friendly service and reasonable prices. Only complaint was they overlooked the lamb sweetbreads.:: otherwise a lovely meal
Great place lovely food in comfortable setting with excellent service
Hake was a bit disappointing, sauce tasted burnt and small portion compared to fish and chips.
Starter of scallops was lovely and everyone else’s main looked very good.
Dessert menu had nothing appealing - an apple crumble or pie and something else chocolate would be an improvement.
Nice wine although no reasonably priced Chardonnay or Pinot was surprising.
Absolutely loved this place. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, our server was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was EVERYTHING. Dim lighting, great theme, candle lit table and unconventional seating areas gave the place so much character. The halloumi fries, espresso martini, golden cock pie, mashed potatoes, and tweed valley lamb with langoustine were all phenomenal choices. Will likely stop in one more time before our trip is over.
Food was lovely, fantastic service, great atmosphere, can’t fault anything at all.
Everything was great, service was really prompt but didn't get rushed and the food was fab .
In general the food was very nice and the atmosphere as well. However the fish (hake and langoustines) were dry and almost tasteless. The vegetarian dish, fish and chips and the steak were good though.
Fabulous restaurant, amazing from start to finish! A theme done right.
Lovely bar area with great bar staff.
Welcoming and friendly host, we were seated in the best seats in the house which was brilliant.
Food was outstanding, had seen great reviews about the food and they were absolutely right, Golden Cock Pie was delicious!
Obviously after such a great main, we chose to have desserts and they also didn't disappoint.
As the server station is not in the main dining room, if its quiet you may go a while without seeing staff, but they are clearly attentive as when needed, they seamlessly appeared to clear plate etc.
Also, they gave my pregnant fiancé a little something to bring home with us which was such a great touch, we will definitely be back, and not just to get more decaf coffee!
Great ambience, great food, great place.
Fabulous Sunday roast beef. Great service. Efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed a really pleasant meal at Badger and Co. The food was a really nice standard for the price point - I’d definitely recommend the venison. Only slight complaint (and I’m disappointed to read that other diners have experienced the same but clearly no improvements have been made) is that we had to chase the waiting staff for menus etc. I guess it is a tough balance - between giving diners enough time so they don’t feel like they are being chased off their table and leaving them so long that they feel forgotten about but we definitely felt as though we had to chase up the staff more than once over the course of the meal. All in all though, we would visit again and I have already recommended it to friends.
