Went here for a casual Sunday night dinner with my parents. It wasn’t very crowded so we were worried but the service was excellent, and we enjoyed the quieter ambiance though I imagine it can get louder on a more crowded night. Everything we ate was so delicious!!! We had burrata, and Brussels sprouts salad to start, and then for entrees we had pork, chicken, cauliflower, and snapper. We all loved it. Will definitely be going back sometime soon!

My husband and I were there for an early Thursday evening dinner - that may account for the very low noise level, it was not very crowded. I had a "side" of charred broccoli as my appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed it. My butternut squash salad with shredded pork carnitas made a delicious main course. My husband's appetizer of the shredded Brussels sprout salad was truly special. And he enjoyed his diver scallops main course. I have eaten lunch there many times before, and knew the food was good; this was my first dinner there, and Baldanza lived up to my high expectations for it.

We traveled from Oxford CT to meet up with cousins. It took a long time to get there. The reception was lovely as the bar is nearthe door and the barkeeper could not have been nicer. The service staff was ver attentive and eager to answer all the questions we had about the menu. As my cousin had brought wine we opted to drink that as well as a lovely bottle of Prosecco. The corkage fee is high at $25.00 but reasonable if you check the wine list. As for the meal, we had fried calamarie which was crispy and there were no legs. It was served with a light redsauce and a tasty white sauce. I hadthe lasagne bolgnese which was enough for a take away box. My husband had the squash raviolis which, for the price,nwas a bit skimpy. My cousins shared the wedge salad and said the dressing was outstanding. One had the scallop dinner which was also skimpy for the price, the other had the pork melanaise which she lijed but did not rave about as it was not prepared in a way she was accustomed. This is a $$$ or more place but then, it is New Canaan. Just sayin.

There were 6 of us for my husband’s birthday. The food was excellent. We shared several apps and each had an entree and then split desserts. Our favorite app was the tuna, but the calamari and short rib Mac& cheese were also good. We all had either the short rib burger, daily ravioli (butternut squash) or pork chop. For dessert, we ordered the cream brûlée and chocolate cake. Those who had the brûlée enjoyed it, but the chocolate cake was awes! The wait staff was attentive and it was a cozy atmosphere. We had a fantastic time will definitely come again.

Ordered meal. Staff swept around us for 10 minutes. After 20 minutes asked about meal. Waitress with unwashed hands brought out cold eggs and toast hard and cold. By the way. There was nobody else in baldanza. Now we know why.
Baldanza is a lovely little cafe in the middle of New Canaan. The food was wonderful--none of the four of us had any complaints about appetizers, dinner or dessert. The service was attentive but leisurely, which was a real pleasure. However, the cost was excessive. We ordered three appetizers to share, two desserts, two drinks each, and pasta main courses. The price was about $350 for four people. Seriously? I know it's New Canaan, but that's absurd. Be warned before you go.
Big improvement since they first moved to this new location. I will be back.

Weeknights are a bargain at Baldanza with good food and drink at low prices. But what made it great was being served by Vanessa, who is an excellent server and also doubles as a pastry chef. Try her muffins and scones - guaranteed to hit the spot!
Haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Had brunch with a friend. Great eggs Benedict. Great dinners. Beet salad a work of art, crispy Parmesan chicken my favorite, but everything I’ve tried is terrific.

The food was excellent. It was very busy when we arrived so we waited for drinks and server. The owner, Angela Baldanza noticed that we were in need of drinks and menus. She went out of her way to accommodate us and we are grateful. This is why we dine locally!
Business lunch...food was excellent (beet salad, burger/fries, chicken sandwich and homemade apple pie)...service had personality and was attentive...but not too...price was reasonable...Angela Baldanza stopped by for a chat to add to the experience...definitely going back for dinner soon.
This continues to be my favorite restaurant in New Canaan. Every time great food! Service is excellent, pleasant, patient and nice. Generous servings and menu changes provide more reasons to come back.

They really ruined Baldanza when they moved to the new location. Everything is hurried. Food was mediocre at best. Owner was working as a waitress at Sunday Brunch and looked like she is hating life. Not a great vibe. Not going back. I Miss the original Baldanza, and I’m sure the owners do too....
Wide variety of dishes for senior citizen and child. Great simple foods in creatively concocted dishes. Especially loved the beet salad, Parmesan crusted chicken and short rib burger

Menu is wonderful though we felt it was a bit more expensive than the competition. This is particularly true of the appetizers.
The setting at the new Baldanza is very pleasant. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The Chef, Tim, provided personal service and the food was wonderful. We had the ora king salmon and halibut ceviche with avacado, shallots and EVO, the buffalo burrata bruchetta w/rosemary crostinis, hand cut tuna tartare w/avacado fried leeks, grassfed organic all beef burger w/cheddar, gruyere and bacon jam (delicious!), and the trumpet pasta w/porcini, shitake, button and oyster mushrooms w/truffle butter sauce. We tried a lot! And it was all fantastic. Everything was done to perfection, it was a delightful experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. The location is very convenient, on the main street, with plenty of parking after 6PM for free.
