Nice location with good service and food. It is great not to be in a basement but to have a well lit, airey space to sit in.

The online booking hadn’t been sent on to the restaurant by Head Office and so we were relegated to 3 stools directly by the kitchen and left smelling like we had cooked all the lunch meals ourselves! Shame as it is normally very good....

All good with the restaurant - only problem was that they didn't have my reservation which was made on Opentable.

The stake was over cooked and chewy.
Bar didn't have cucumber for gin and tonic.
Watch out for extra charges on your bill. We were charged an extra £4.00 for peppercorn sauce that was already included in the price

I can't really fault too much to be honest - food was served promptly and was delicious enough. Sadly, the thing that brought down scores was the subtle indifference that I was shown when they couldn't find my name on the booking. I had booked a table for two for lunch at midday on a Wednesday via OpenTable incidentally...I walked in, the place was empty, the waitress thumbed through the reservations list to locate my name unsuccessfully....she then sought out the manager who was in a huddle having a team meeting and subsequently offered up "any of the high tables!!" I proceeded to show him my OpenTable booking confirmation and he promptly rolled his eyes...so this is probably more of a reflection on OT's booking process than the restaurants attitude? But then there was a glimmer...I was asked again if my name was 'George' to which I remarked YES...my guest and I were ushered to proper table!! Our food arrived, we ate and we left in under 60 mins...the restaurant was still empty....draw you own conclusions...Best regards, AN.

We booked a table for 16, and this may have been an issue. Communication with the restaurant was not straightforward, so whilst they initially told us that we didn't need to pre-order they subsequently asked us to - but too late. Consequently food was not very good and service was not up to scratch either. I'd drink there, but having had a similar experience the previous day with a table for 3, I wouldn't rush back to eat anything other than a sandwich or burger through necessity.

The overall experience was good, service was friendly and prompt, with the food coming out quickly. White wine was lovely and cold. I was disappointed to find on arrival the restaurant was closing at 15.00 for a private booking and as our table was for 13.00 this did not give us enough time for the afternoon we had planned in the restaurant. In the end we only had a main course before we had to leave and find another location to complete our afternoon get together. I strongly feel this should have been disclosed at the time of booking the table.

Where to have a nostalgic reunion lunch for four people who worked together in advertising in the late 70s and the 80s? The cabbie's daughter, now a naturalised Aussie, didn't want anything 'poncey'. I'd have opted for Shampers or Cork and Bottle in W1 - two wine bars which have retained what was good about 80s lunching - but the venue had to be near Liverpool Street. We stuck with a house white for bottle after bottle... My risotto was dry and rather free of flavour. But I really didn't care; too busy dragging up ancient gossip. When we finally left, the place had filled with bankers making many demands of the pleasant and tolerant staff - which might explain the chaotic response to the request for our bill. It was a pleasant shock. Value.

This is a busy light/high celing building which provides good value for business lunches. services is however hit and miss, sometimes you are left a long time for either your order to be taken or your drinks to be brought. The table next to us who ordered after us received their meals 10/15 mins before us, and we were only having something lite!

This is a pleasant, light-filled room in a convenient location. My booking had not got through to them. They said this happened often with Toptable. My friend ordered crabcakes and I ordered the cod, which I was told would take 15 mins. It did take at least 15 mins, but it was unclear when it came why that might be the case as it had just been grilled. Our meals were OK, service was pleasant, although a bit slow as the place filled up. This is a serviceable rather than interesting venue.
