A special attraction of the restaurant is the Naanery i.e. the bread bar offering a selection of artisanal breads baked in an unusual iron tandoor instead of the universally used clay tandoor.
The Restaurant’s wine cellar features a range of old and new world wines, that can be paired with the bread & chutney combination for an authentic Baluchi Rhapsody!

An exceptional and memorable evening dining in a beautifully adapted (from my old school's main hall) space. Exceptional food, with innovative and original dishes complementing more traditional fare. Overall five stars without hesitation.
Lovely venue and meal with high quality food.
Slightly limited menu choice but still would recommend
Awesome Indian food. Efficient staff & excellent staff.
I’d recommend baluchi for good Indian food and a beautiful venue, however the service was poor. We were rarely tended to, and always had to wave for a waiter’s attention. The first waitress took our starter order. 20 minutes later a second waiter came over to take our starter order - clearly a lack of communication.
Items that we ordered were not delivered - naan with our starters and lentils with our mains - yet baluchi still put the lentils on our bill at the end of the night! Unfortunately we were highly disappointed with the service for what was a birthday dinner.
The ambiance is great, although the overall noise level would be deemed as pretty quiet considering the size of the dining area. Increasing the volume of the music a few notches would not hurt.
The quality of the food was excellent throughout, although the sharing platter (Kaffir lime chicken tikka, lamb chops, fish tikka) consisting of one small piece of chicken, fish and one small lamb chop, is unfairly priced (£21) in my opinion. To price this as much as a main like the lamb shank (which we had also tried) is quite ridiculous. The tandoori lobster was excellent, as were the selection of naans and desserts we tried (Kulfi, Ginger and Mint cake). The wine list is also very good, and served appropriately by the attentive staff.
Service was disjointed, inefficient and ineffective. There were enough staff for the number of covers in the restaurant but it was clear they hadn't been effectively trained. Staff were slow to take orders, didn't check orders before bringing them out meaning parts of orders were missing and half the food was cold when the rest of it arrived. I was served tea in a lipstick stained cup and, when I asked for some condiments to accompany the food, instead of offering to bring it to the table I was pointed in the direction of the corner of the restaurant and told to help myself. Food was good but will not be going back owing to the poor level of service.
Food was good, portion size much better than I expected. However the rather moody waitress spoiled the moment. She could also not advise on the menu.
Food was just cooked, bland in flavour. For the price I expect to be blown away with taste, I was not.
On the plus side the old school hall was fantastic- shame the food couldn’t match the setting.
Great food, service and ambience!
Great food and service. Portions looked small but were actually quite filling.
Vegetarian food felt neglected in comparison to non-veg. Portion sizes were a fraction of the size with ingredients I could gather and use myself - but yet the same price. Lovely building and location.
Food was ok. Went for my mum's 75th Birthday but not that impressive. Order a cake with them which was compulsory as they dont allow outside food. We were ok with that but after ordering cake they forgot to put Birthday message on the cake. Usually when they bring the cake they sing Happy Birthday with us but they just came and presented cake to mum and left. Didn't even wish her or gave smile, which i find it very odd. This was spoiler.
The boss always loves to bring guests here for lunch. The service this time was a little sketchy, over attentive for a while and then they had to come back and check what we had ordered as nothing was written down, then we were left for a while with nobody taking our plates. The food as always was amazing though so will return.
a fantastic meal as always. the staff are polite and attentive and the food was delicious. this was an indulgence and cannot wait for more. look out for their beautiful cocktails and those gorgeous lobster and fish dishes on the menu!
Was my husband’s 40th and the ambience was lovely and the staff attentive and couldn’t do enough for us
Great service and experience but the food was awesome! I would recommend highly!
Food was excellent as ever, but the staff were not really on top of their game. We had to wait 25 minutes for a bottle of wine ordered when we first sat down which meant it arrived half way through the starters. Restaurant was fairly quiet so no excuse really but will give them the benefit of the doubt as normally service is excellent.
Very quiet, but not sure why. Great food and service. Not like the usual Indian food, but really good
Fabulous room and service. Guidance on the food was excellent and explained on delivery all very nice. Attentive but non-intrusive service from all staff.
Overall a lovely restaurant, beautiful setting in a hotel and the food was very enjoyable too. Was slightly irritated by the staff who were unclear and quite rude when I asked if something small could be brought out for my friend for her birthday so we could sing and celebrate for her. Her dessert was brought out in the end with a candle, despite not knowing whether it was coming or not due to the lack of clear communication.
Service could be faster! Food was fantastic as always!
Very nice restaurant
Beautiful place, excellent food, very nice wine list
Bathrooms were very clean and had heated toilet seats!
Excellent food, beautifully presented, in an unusual and beautiful setting. Not too busy on a Friday night so good for a family outing/date and would also be an excellent business venue. Food was not too spicy and delicious Indian menu.
Good food. Flavourful with loads of spice and colour. The food did not disappoint. My only complaint I can note was the service. For a restaurant that makes wonderful food, the service is disappointing and inconsistent. The waitress did not offer us the lunch menu as shown on open table. We had to specifically ask for it and she was still unaware of what the lunch menu was. Waiter did not explain the foods being served as what you normally expect from these restaurant... However another waiter who brought out the desert did managed to describe the last course to us. As we was leaving having already paid... The front desk lady looked confused as we was walking out. It appears that the bill had not been closed on the system eventhough we paid... She asked us to come back and confirm the payment... Clearly the waiter who took our bill was sloppy to update it on their main system. I won't say it was a bad experience as we really enjoyed the food and ambience of the place. But the service did put a negative on the whole experience.
The food had incredible flavours, the service was very professional. The restaurant is located in a gorgeous hotel. They have genuine TOTO Washlet Toilets! Worth the visit for this alone.
Overall a great experience had!
One of the dishes was too salty and on raising concern it was ignored and told this is how it is cooked. The salt content was probably twice the daily maximum allowance.
Indifferent service, bland flavourless food. Plus, starters and mains were served together although when we ordered we made clear we'd like the starters first. Everything got cold and it just made no sense to have everything at the same time. They have a tasting menu, so they should be familiar with the idea of serving courses not all at the same time? It was a disappointing experience.
Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff.
Food was lovely but very expensive - particularly the drinks.
However overall we had a wonderful dining experience
Great atmosphere, good service, good food and nice vibe
The room is beautiful and the food is good but there were very few people dining and the prices were really steep. I think that the excuse that they are top hotel prices is a daft one. I booked not knowing it was a hotel and it is competing with other restaurants that are not hotels. Not sure I'd rush back.
Must every body should visit you lovethe food ambiance .
Disappointing. Food less interesting than I’d hoped, and although the prices look good on the menu, the overall bill was higher than justified.
This restaurant served great food in a beautiful converted school. My only criticism was that the service could have been better. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so the staff could have been more attentive.
The food and the staff were excellent, and we will definitely be going back again. Our only minor quibble was the weird and loud background music; the staff were very helpful in finding us a table where it wasn’t quite as intrusive but were powerless to reduce the volume, and there were way too many loudspeakers. We fail to understand why music is necessary at all. We wanted to talk to each other, not listen to obscure jazz (although the actual genre was hard to pin down).
Not my first visit. Food wonderful. Waiter service still slow need to be more aware of the customers needs but I will be back.
Our favorite Indian restaurant and go-to place in all of London. Beautiful dining room, top quality service, and most importantly - the best food! Everything is delicious but my absolute favorites are the coconut-mango naan, palak paneer, and masala chai. They also have fantastic cocktails and a great wine selection. If you want the best Indian food and a lovely overall dining experience, this place is a must.
great food and excellent service, just the prawn was bland but overall it was good
loved our lunch. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Mushroom galauti kebab were outstanding.
Excellent food, but the drinks prices were beyond ridiculous. As was the addition of a 12.5% service charge.
