Very charming and intimate venue, beautiful cooper bar (great cocktails!) and a big olive tree in the main room.
The food was really good especially the duck and the lavender creme brûlée.
We had a bit of a miss understanding with our order and ended up having to wait for one of our main courses but the staff was excellent in solving the issue and we eventually enjoyed our dinner throughout the evening.
Good wine selection too.
Amazing pissaladiere as amuse bouche !!
Only downside : the main room and tables are a little too dark in my opinion!
The amount of times that the server pressured us for wine was at least 5 to 6. The food was subpar. Nothing mind blowing and covered in olive oil. Don’t order the fois gras - it was chewy.
One of my favorites in the area. The food is really good and service great. Very pleasant place with great decoration. A bit expensive but it comes with the quality of the food and the armosphere. Warmly recommended
The food is excellent and the staff are professional, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant has a lovely interior and comfortable ambiance. The ratatouille is excellent as was the grilled octopus. My only disappointment was that we went for the brunch but because it was Mother's Day they suspended that part of the menu. Otherwise, a truly lovely experience.
Not sure .
I had seared scallops with Jerusalem artichoke purée . The scallops were a bit crispy and I think there was sand in them, the waiter very sure about himself tried to convince me that it was the artichoke . But having tasted the purée and the scallops separately I know the scallops were definitely sandy.
Otherwise good food and good deserts
Great night with good food and superb service
I made a reservation via OpenTable, only to turn up at the restaurant (on time) and be told that the kitchen was now closed. When I pointed out that I did in fact have a reservation and they then confirmed that was the case, they were incredibly apologetic and bent over backwards to provide us with a full meal, even to the extent of offering us a free glass of wine. Other restaurants would have simply shrugged their shoulders. So full marks to Bandol. They dealt with the situation incredibly well and I will certainly be returning. (The manager admitted that they had simply forgotten to close off bookings after a certain time from OpenTable)
Great place, nice service and really good food. Atmosphere also great,
Excellent small French restaurant, had a very fine birthday dinner for my wife. Every course was delicious, good value for Chelsea as well.
Absolutely outstanding food and service! I went there for a birthday lunch with friends and we had a blast! Totally recommend it. Thank you Bandol🙏
We loved Bandol. It's not cheap, but the food is good and the service friendly. We'd definitely go back, and recommend you try it.
I used to be a very regular visitor to this location, when it was Glaisters, but had not been fro many years as I moved away. I was really looking forward to the re-visit as Sunday Lunch at Glaisters used to be such a fun event. The new decor is very different but pleasant. We opted for the £30 bottomless brunch and had extras. The food was enjoyable, but the really bad point was that there was no atmosphere in the place at all as the sum total of diners was six! And that was on a day Chelsea were playing at home! I expected it to be packed - as was the pub opposite!
I was really disappointed with the bottomless brunch I went on Saturday. I was expecting a DJ (as advertised here on open table), an unlimited sides. The sides were only french fries and a salad. The waitress that took care of us was confused, brought one of the order without the main ingredient, and started took forever to bring the first glass of the bottomless rose. In the end when I’ve asked for a topup (we had to ask all the time for topups) she said the bottomless was over as our reservation had closed 90 minutes, even though she only got us the first glass 20 min after we were seated.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Food was brilliant and service extremely attentive service from start to finish! One of the best dinners I’ve had in London!
When ever I have friends in town visiting, i always take them to Bandol for dinner or brunch because the food is delicious and I love the ambiance, and it has an extensive wine list. The waiters are attentive, and even cater to my special diet needs. Love the place!
Frequent visitor, first time we have been disappointed. The yellow tail sashimi was smothered in dressing and had to go back. The lobster linguine was short on lobster and what lobster there was was over cooked. Consequently the food didn’t justify the price. Might be nice to see a change in the menu too occasionally
One of the best atmospheres you can experience and food was fantastic. Not to mention the service but the number of staff could increase for more promptness
Lovely interior and food. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu
We had a lovely anniversary dinner off the dinner set menu. Great interior and friendly staff. Recommendes
Once again the food was amazing. Disappointed by the service … our waiter was a bit stressed and stressful
Very nice restaurant . We would go back aubergine dish was delicious
Amazing restaurant. Highly recommend!
Everything perfects the only problem was the table, that are too close to each other then you have to talk louder all the time to hear your partner.
Very loud and expensive.
Very well appointed place with lovely decor. Our booking was late Tuesday night so not much of a crowd. The staff very attentive especially the waiter however on ordering bread we were told ‘it doesn’t exist in England or whole loaf has to be served’ which we found a bit doubtful. We ordered the burratina starter which was average to say the least, the swordfish carpaccio didn’t taste fresh unfortunately with a very fishy taste. The duck confit was great however the lobster linguine had a coconut taste which wasn’t fresh either. We asked the waiter why it had that taste and if they used coconut milk to hear the response that ‘it’s the tomatoes that makes it sweet’ we didn’t believe a word.
Very good food ! We had a very good evening , thanks to them at Bandol restaurant !
Nice food and wine. Quite noisy for a romantic date and the waitress was porring our glasses every 10 minutes to make sure we will order a new one again... Too obvious
Good value for money but the service was a little bit disappointing.
We had a delicious meal at Bandol and really enjoyed the variety and excellence of the sharing plates. The service was very attentive.
A restaurant that always makes me regret that I haven't eaten there more often.
New year evening, good healthy food, not much of French, slightly over elaborate.
The New Years Eve tasting menu was fantastic, all of the food was outstanding apart from my fish being on the dry side, but my partners was excellent. The service felt slightly rushed at times, but it was very busy and doesn’t reflect every days service, which was still very good and friendly. Apart from this a near perfect dining experience and overall a great evening and would recommend anyone to stop by.
Popped into Bandol for New Year's Eve Pre-Fixe menu. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance in the resturant is cozy, romantic, and they tastefully decorated for both the holidays (gorgeous lights strung up) as well as for New Years Eve, adding a fun touch. Service was quick but not rushed. Would love to return for an a-la-carte meal - would strongly recommed.
Truly disappointing. Have been frequently eating out from 3 star Michelin restaurants to Street food ones. Would list this close to the bottom overall. At Bandol felt being ripped off. Overcooked and tasteless spaghetti with lobster, shrimp swimming in oil, no bread with butter at the start of the meal (very unusual in a French restaurant), a tunna tartare that was a carpaccio, a too salty rabbit and a caraffe of 1/2 a liter of wine. This for 124 gbp. At no point in time anything made this place special. Do not waste your money. There are more than 15,000 restaurants in London. Do not fall for this one
Dear Massi, We are truly sorry your experience in Bandol didn't live up to our standards. I wish you would have communicated your disappointment with one of our staff at some point during the meal so that things could have been amended. Bread is available, upon request, and tuna is served either as a sashimi or tartare. Rabbit is a gamey dish and therefore stronger in flavour. £124 for starters, mains and wine in Chelsea is very much in line with any similar establishment. Regards, Tommaso
Was searching for an elegant yet cosy spot for a Saturday date night and stumbled across this gem. Lovely ambiance, friendly service and overall great vibe. The menu has something for everyone and we both enjoyed our starters and mains (even if we were over zealous with our order). Definitely worth a visit.
I'd booked online quite a few weeks before. We were offered a table in the middle of the restaurant. It was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other. We asked to move and were told that we'd have to sit at the bar. There were a number of tables opposite the bar that were empty we asked to move to one of those but were told that they were all booked. Shortly afterwards a couple who hadn't booked walked in and were offered the choice of the tables, then another couple who were told on booking that they'd have to sit at the bar were also told that they could sit...... then.......
Food was hit and miss, service was shocking. Staff also kept dropping dishes and silverware or chucking them loudly into the washbin
Delicious food, good atmosphere, lovely and enchanting décor. We look forward to our next visit!
A restaurant with very nice atmosphere with decent food. The decor was quite nice with the fairy lights all around the restaurant. I assume it was because of Christmas but the giant olive tree in the middle of the restaurant made a nice impact of the overall decor or the place. The food and service was ok but I wasn't too impressed. It was above average and I kept thinking something was missing from the food and the service to make it an excellent experience. The food is a bit eclectic and not really French, Italian or British.
Dear Guest, We appreciate your feedback. Please note our cuisine is inspired by the flavours of the south of France and the French Riviera, hence the mediterranean feel to the dishes. Our service is detailed and attentive without being intrusive and makes for a relaxed environment, open to accept any type of clientele. We're sorry if you didn't us as sophisticated as expected. Happy Holidays, Tommaso
