Offering a pan-Indian menu with a wonderful selection of Indian street food chaats, “small plates”, “large plates” along with sides and biryanis, the emphasis is on a mix of well-made classics and signature dishes.
Typical chaats may include Samosa Chaat, with signature options to follow such as Rosemary Tulsi Murgh or Beetroot Galouti, whilst the more substantial dishes may feature the likes of Rarah Gosht Pie to a flavoursome Grandma’s Curry.
We also have a wonderful selection of breakfast dishes and accompanying drinks that are healthy and thirst-quenching to get your day off to a great start
Flavours are fresh, presentation eye-catching and cocktails that make you not want to leave the restaurant!
Restaurant was closed.... despite accepted booking. We ate at Côte next door instead, which was lovely.
Great find in Bath. Interesting, tasty food and great service.
We had a fantastic evening with lovely staff especially the bar staff and the food was delicious we couldn’t pick a favourite as everything was so tasty and presented beautifully.
Definitely recommend it 😀
Had heard great things about Bandook but asked the waiter for recommendations and everything was very underwhelming. We also had a trainee waiter who bless him, didn’t really know the ropes.
Great atmosphere with live music & the food is delicious - we went for the tapas option, highly recommend!
They seemed to have no recollection of my booking and as I joined our table after I had parked I was disappointed to be sat in a very noise through fare when I’d asked to be sat in a quieter section due to elderly parents ,
The food was excellent but the service was a little trying , I don’t need to be asked 8 times during a meal if everything is ok ! You’ll know if it’s not
First time visiting and I will be returning. The evening was exceptional. Great service, amazing venue and incredible food.
I just hope and prey that it's location doesn't work against it, a lot of stuff comes and goes in Milsom Place but I hope this place stays put!
Excellent. If you can't get to a Dishoom, this is the next best.
This is a welcome addition to Bath's dining scene . The food is very different , much of it fun to eat , and delicious. Don't think it's an average Indian Restaurant. Perfect for 2 or a group and it makes a really enjoyable evening out. The staff are great and obviously take pride in the food they're serving. I've been twice and know I'll become a regular.
A wonderful restaurant- loved the small plate selection we had . If your in Bath please go . Staff just lovely, setting excellent and food amazing
3 things to consider
1. The decor does nothing to add to the expected experience of Indian Street Food. It adds nothing, in fact it detracts from excellent food.
2. I think it’s hard for customers to understand what a small or large plate is... not easy to communicate.
3. Lose the irritating ‘buzzer’ that tells the service team that the food is ready. We were sat by the kitchen and it’s simply jarring.
4. We understand that Tapas comes at different times, for all the right reasons, but some ‘easy’ items arrived at an illogical time, namely, rice and breads. They either arrived too early for the dishes or too late. I ate my delicious curry before my Roti’s arrived and one of my colleagues’ rice was cold before their large plate arrived. I see those as an essential combination?
Always a special experience at Bandook. The selection of food and drink as well as the attentiveness of staff is always a real treat.
As regulars of the Mint Room we were keen to try this latest venture and we weren't disappointed. The same amazing service and adventurous flavours, it was every bit as delicious as we were hoping for. The buzzy atmosphere is great for a relaxed meal and the shareable plates let you explore a range tasty dishes. Will definitely be returning to discover the other things we didn't get to try last time.
Not only new and different but, I think, the best Indian meal you'll get in Bath. Fine dining quality and an excellent menu: you could choose anything and not go wrong. Distinctive flavours and every dish has its own character, and sharing, "tapas" style, is the way to go. Good service too. It deserves to do extremely well. Recommended.
Delicious and great tasting food. We’ve been there 4 times and it’s consistently great. Back again tonight!
We had previously been for lunch at Bandook and thought it was very good but last Saturday was a very different experience. The noise levels (we all thought the background music was too loud) made it difficult to hear what anyone was saying on our table (we were a mixture of ages). The food was greasy. The prawns were only just cooked. The chicken leg was also close to underdone with pink flesh showing. The collard greens were a few bits of soggy green vegetables which we thought was pitiful for the price paid. Service was ok although we all thought the staff who were stood by the entrance could have held the door open for our party as we were leaving. If you do not produce consistently good quality food time after time, people will not return.
Fourth visit. Great so far.
we booked a table and had to wait 45 mins longer.
once sat down the food to ages to come and came in dribs and drabs, we got the rice once we had finished our meal.
Not a good experience wont be going back
Nice venue and great idea about it being a tapas restaurant but I do believe that the “mains” should be served with the rice and bread! We got the rice and then 15min later the curry and then again 13min later the bread.... just a bit off! Totally get that the small plates can come when they are ready but...
Staff were lovely but depending on where you sit music is rather loud and according to staff you can’t turn it down-odd!
A welcomed newcomer to Bath! We loved the food and will definitely be back.
Best indian street food restaurant in Bath!
Lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Great food. Highly recommend
Had a chicken curry that suspiciously tasted very much like Heinz tomato soup. The biriani was also unusual without and vegetable sauce and quite bland. Naan breads were tiny
Service was slow but they were very busy
Contemporary surroundings. We were welcomed promptly and seated. Asked if we could move to a cooler spot, which was accommodated immediately, responsive and pleasant staff who understood the menu.
Menu more limited than your average Indian restaurant, but then, this wasn’t your average Indian.
We shared two starters and two mains. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Not too spicy, but very aromatic. Would thoroughly recommend.
First visit - food excellent and definitely will go again
I have visited India many many times and never found food so authentic outside the country. This restaurant was superb. The food quality and variety was top rate. Street food is amazing In India and Bandook brings it to us in Bath. Will I be going back?.. you bet.
Expensive restaurant serving interesting but not special food.
Great food really nice to experience Indian street food, The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are really really helpful in choosing
Excellent food and great service in lovely surroundings
Great food and nice staff. A completely different take on Indian food. very interesting dishes!
Our second visit to this new restaurant. The owners have made good use of the space, which is clean and smart with an open kitchen. They offer a good selection of small and larger plates with some interesting options. A decent wine list and very good service. Recommended.
Amazing food, the Bombay prawns were fantastic, will defy be going back 👍
Delicious food and good service at a decent price. The place was quite quiet so lacked a bit of ambience, but I'd definitely return to eat there again.
We went on a recommendation from a friend, and we were so glad we went. Really nice food, fresh and tasty, and excellent service. We will be back again soon.
Menu needs to be clear as to what the dish has by way of flavour and heat or explained more clearly by waiting staff. One chicken dish had small bones which was not intended, The prawn curry was just hot - flavour not identifiable and needed chutney and yogurt which was provided upon request. Kulfi dessert was wonderful.
Good service and excellent food all very reasonably priced.
Trendy and new for Bath. Very creative and fun idea.
