I use Bank regularly for business lunches, where it is important that the meal is completed within an hour (surely that will be a common requirement). Recently I have been having to chase down waiting staff to take away plates, order the next course, order the bill etc., and the meal tends to take over an hour now, which is putting me off coming back.

One of my favourite places for a catch up with friends .
Food excellent quality . We shared the Asian Plate as a starter. Gorgeous food , great selection but it is big for two as a starter !
Good choice of mains at various prices . Specials always good.
You don’t feel hurried in this venue ( unlike others ) , no chasing for the table back after 2 hours .
It’s a great location if you want to chat , you can hear each other speak (no loud music or excessive background noise ) . Tables not too close together .
Staff excellent , friendly and helpful but not over the top .
It is just a lovely place to relax and eat good food .
Highly recommended

We recommend the cocktails before dinner. The meal and surroundings looking out on to the courtyard were really good. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really looked after us without being pushy. We shall go back when next in London.

What a superb experience, and a beautiful location. Inconspicuous from the outside but once inside, a wonderful conservatory gives diners a view over the majestic courtyard which could be a world away from the hustle and bustle of the busy London streets. We were greeted, served and fully attended to amazingly, by all the staff and the food was exceptional, with a menu that has something to suit all. Beautiful decor, with plush leather dining chairs in Tiffany blue and white linen table cloths, gives a feeling that the bill is going to be much more expensive than it is. One of our party commented that this was the best Christmas dinner (apart from his wife's ;-) ) that he had ever had, and the turkey slice he was presented with was certainly huge by usual standards. As I said in the title of this review, if you haven't been already, you're missing out, and I can't believe it wasn't even busy. I'm loathed to leave this review as I really want to keep this little gem for myself but I need to give this wonderful restaurant and staff the credit that is due. If you want to impress but still keep an eye on the purse/ wallet, this place is definitely for you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very disappointing service. Was charged for wine we had not had, this was put right, but there was no apology. Tried to order off the special menu (which we had been given) but was given food from the a la carte menu which meant it came without the vegetables. Dessert we ordered was not available but was not told this until 10 minutes had passed.
I have used this restaurant a lot for business lunches, but it will probably be a long time before I return if ever.

We went here for my husband's birthday dinner while visiting from the U.S.
What went right:
Quiet, pretty ambiance.
Nice bartender and drinks with: small bits of popcorn, olives [2] and 1 cracker with pate (?)
What went wrong: Business clientele/dinner place.
Waiter was inattentive; restaurant wasn't busy . A table 10 people came in while we were eating and his attention was focused there.
I ordered a ribeye steak. It was to come with choice of sauce or butter. I forgot to say which when I ordered, so when he brought my salad, I asked for one of the butters. He looked befuddled. "Oh, yes. Okay," he finally says.
He has yet to bring my husband's beer; but it was impossible to catch his eye, so it took a while.
Mains come -
I taste steak - it was VERY salty! I give my husband a taste and he says it's salty but not terrible. I don't think I have EVER sent back a dish, but this one was going back; I would not eat this piece of meat.
*We cannot get the waiters attention; he is busy with the big table. We can't even signal anyone else. Finally, we get another waiter to get our waiter. I explain that the steak is far too salty. He is willing to get me another piece of meat or something else. I know that I am not going to try again, so I ordered fish. {My husband had fish and it was tasty.} The waiter asks my husband if he'd like his dinner [which he's over 1/2 done with] to be kept warm. He agrees.
*While we wait the maitre'd (?) comes over and apologizes. My fish comes out; my husband gets a entire new piece of fish. THAT was nice touch.
*By the time we finished mains, we just wanted to leave. The waiter brings the bill and pushes us to sign up for some kind of rewards program, he must have gotten some kind of profit from that.
*We get the bill and see that 12.5% gratuity was automatically charged.!! We were not happy about that; menu says " There is a discretionary 12.5% service charge" I don't see how that would be discretionary if it is already added to bill.

Very poor service. There seemed to be only one waiter for the whole room. We were attended by a host but then he never followed through. We had to walk out to ask to have our check processed. And they were not helpful with charging it to our room with the hotel. I don't think we were treated very well at all.

Very nice location, excellent service, only thing to complain: asked for rump medium and it was well done, had to take the salmon salad for take away and dis not have all the ingredients ( only salmon and two asparagus,no salad no quinoa...). But the food in general was really tasty estaecially the burger.

Good food spoilt by poor service. Ordered tap water - it arrived lukewarm with no ice. Ordered more tap water - it arrived with ice this time (because specifically requested) but clearly in luke warm water and was not allowed to stand. Result more luke warm water. Ordered pre-dinner drinks - arrived with an excess of ice which disguised small measures. Ordered starters - no bread served with them until ordered separately. Arrived after starters had been eaten. Wine was being poured every time a guest took a sip - intrusive and clearly intended to try and get a further wine order rather than being helpful. The restaurant was only half full. No excuse for all of this. Spent £400 on 6 covers. Won't be coming back.

Food and service were excellent, and there is a lovely open feeling in the conservatory area with a good view of the gardens and fountain. Definitely a wow factor. Think about a side order with your main meal as you may need it and the staff don't always prompt you.

This was a timing disaster. We had chosen this restaurant as we had a 2.00 pm ticket for Buckingham Palace. We arrived at 12.30 and were served very quickly with drinks and menu. We were advised of the specials and chose the sea bass for two people. The waiter did not speak very good English and his description of the dish was unclear. He did NOT tell us it would take 40 minutes even when we told him we had to be at the Palace for 2.00 pm. Consequently when the meal had not arrived after forty minutes we realised we would not really have time to eat it and decided we would have to leave. The maitre d persuaded us to stay and eat the meal which arrived an hour after we ordered it so we had to eat very little very quickly. They did admit the mistake and charged us nothing and paid for a taxi for us. So good on them for that and for that reason I would go back and give them another chance,

With glass on three sides, this restaurant has amazing views of St James' Square - looking directly onto its amazing buildings. The service and setting was very smart and professional; the food was very good. However some of the furniture needed replacing and even though we were all wearing jackets it was extremely cold which spoilt it for us. We did ask to turn off the air con which they did but it didn't really help. We ate quite quickly as the food also went cold and therefore it was more of a rush than pleasurable. Such a shame in such a lovely place.

I booked this as an early supper (17:30) for my girlfriend and I, prior to seeing the musical "Wicked". This restaurant is inside the Taj Hotel - luckily I'd done my research and didn't have any issues locating it. We were the only diners at that time slot, therefore I'd highly recommend this time slot/venue if privacy/noise is a concern. For me, the ambience was too quiet. I'd have preferred a little more ambient noise, maybe some music.

This standout feature of this restaurant were the team. The door staff, receptionist at the hotel Taj, the Maître D, the waiting staff were all exemplary. They were polite, friendly, efficient and humorous. I've been to Michelin starred restaurants that didn't have this level of service...

We opted for the Chateaubriand to share (medium rare - naturally), and a bright bottle of South African red. The steak was a little well done for my tastes, but it was lovely. If you are a stickler for the perfect steak and must have it medium rare, specify that you want it a little bloody....

They do seem to have a well thought out wine list. The wine was very good and complimented the steak very well.

The meal was prepared quickly and we were able to eat, drink and leave in just over an hour. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for a quick business lunch. It's nice, well lit, private and quick!

We would go back again, but nothing really stood out as more than "nice". Still, it is a restaurant worth trying - so please do!
