Excellent restaurant. Service was crisp. Crab and artichoke dip was vg. Crab bisque vg. Cioppino was excellent as were crab cakes.
Very nice place, good food, good service but be ready to pay for both
Noticeably short on staff but our server was very good.
Excellent...as always! One of my very favorites!
Great service, presentation, and ambiance but the food varied between mediocre to good; disappointing for a high-end, expensive restaurant like Banks.
I was very disappointed with the oyster stew I was expecting a rich creamy broth but I found it to be very watered down and not much flavor
Food was excellent and the service was great! We did sit outside and had a great view on the water. Would come back again for sure.
Tyler was our server - he was efficient, friendly without being overwhelming. He made suggestions and offered time for us to make our choices. Excellent server!
What a great place. We had a question on the ahi tuna on the raw bar section. Our waiter was amazing. Gave details. Down to earth waitor. Just awesome service all around
Great food, including fantastic raw oysters, from a smallish menu. Love the open-air setting on the riverfront. Service was friendly but not especially attentive. Water glasses weren't refilled and we had to ask for bread.
Great view of water
Clams casino great
The talked into the “in the nude” was not a good idea. - will do it myself next time
The big eye tuna was very bland
Shaved Brussels sprouts salad was delish
Deserts were great
We’ve often go on there and always have pleasant time. We ate outside on a beautiful day good my wife son and daughter-in-law.
A bit pricey but worth every penny.
We visited the Wilmington Riverwalk on a recent get away from Pittsburgh. We enjoyed our dinner at Banks Seafood. Our table was ready when we arrived. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We sat on the patio with great views of the river. I had crab cake and my wife had scallops. Both were delicious! We would dine at Banks again.
Our dinner was delicious. I had the lobster, clams, shrimp, and mussels in tomato broth--superb! Service was slow. Our server had tables inside and outside and had a distance between tables to cover. I know that restaurants are challenged with not having enough staff. Banks is the best seafood restaurant in Delaware!
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Banks. Went there for a late lunch with my 23 year old daughter. The Maryland crab soup ($12) was OK, not particularly good. They charged $4 a shrimp for an appetizer, describing them as Jumbo shrimp. The shrimp were not especially large - way overpriced! The top 2/3rds of the grilled salmon was cooked fine but the bottom was uncooked. When I mentioned this to the waitress she completely blew me off and said that that's just how they make it. I know the difference between slightly undercooked salmon (which can be juicy, fine) and uncooked salmon which is inedible. I had so been looking forward to eating at Banks. It's a very pretty restaurant. But will not be going back.
Our service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Kudos to the chef and staff. We had a wonderful date night!!
We had a nice leisurely meal at the covered outdoor patio.
Cold well shucked oysters, good cocktails, very good lobster roll and very good trout for a nice lunch. Ended with excellent gelato. Service was very good.
Food was very tasty but a bit pricey. Staff seemed indifferent to customers. Easy parking and nice stroll along the river.
Great waitress, good food, glad to see they were busy
Excellent service and food and drinks were great.
This was a birthday dinner for my girlfriend and I. We were seated promptly on arrival. Restaurant was perhaps half full. Kitchen and serving crew clearly under-staffed. Our server was not very courteous; not openly hostile but sarcastic and indifferent. No small plates provided with large platter of (expensive) oysters. Young busboy slammed dishes around making for a decidedly unrelaxed atmosphere. Party seated in adjoining booth included a young child that insisted on watching cartoons on one of the adult's iPhone throughout the entire meal (why would you bring a child here? - they don't even offer a children's menu). Very inconsiderate and annoying. Food was excellent however. Total bill was two hundred for 2 with drinks and shared app but no wine and no dessert. There are better options in Wilmington (Tonic, for one). Unlikely to go back.
We always enjoy Banks. The food is always great. The service is usually excellent - sometimes outstanding - like this time.
Always a wonderful experience. The food is always fresh and beautifully presented.
The food was fresh and perfectly seasoned and prepared.
Amazing, happy I asked a friend for reconnections. Definitely coming back.
Looking forward to dining again…
Best restaurant in town
Very nice restaurant. The food and service were excellent. My friend and I agreed that we would go back and I’d have no problem recommending it to friends. Just an all around great place to dine!
If I can leave a review in two words “not enough.” All filler, no meat. Spent $100 and left hungry. Ridiculously overpriced.
Food and service were very good. As with all restaurants post Covid, staff shortages but overall very good.
Food was excellent. Menu was different from other restaurants in the area, and everything tasted fresh. Desserts were to die for. Very nice waterfront setting. We will definitely return.
I chose this Restaurant to celebrate my Hubby's Birthday because I have always been impressed with the Chef 's Culinary talents! It was a good experience..but I did expect a bit better! We dined outside & my initial impression was one of surprise as the Furniture appeared worn & lackluster! Wrought iron with no padding can be uncomfortable for some patrons! My husband ordered the Whole Branzino...but usually it is Filleted TABLESIDE so that one doesn't have to pick through bones!🤬 The Cornbread Crusted Rainbow Trout was EXCELLENT! A GREAT CHOICE!
Excellent, friendly service.Good seafood for the price. Will definetely go back
Service wasn’t great. Finished plates left on table. Server in corner texting on phone.
My friend and i are foodies from Philadelphia. We absolutely fell in love with Banks. We actually found it while getting lost looking for a different restaurant and we are so glad we did. The food have been fantastically consistent every time we visit. On one visit we were unable to get a seat so we ate at another restaurant but still ordered food to go from Banks to take home and let me tell you the food never made it back to Philly. This is our go to place for great food and warm atmosphere. The only bad thing i would say is i wish the beer menu was better. They need beer choices in their IPA's selection. Unfortunately we end up getting beer from iron hill when we're done with our meal but that is definitely a minor thing and that definitely wont deter us from coming back. I absolutely fell in love with their clam casinos and fried oysters. Absolutely delicious.
We always love Banks, seating outside was nice. Food ok this time
Lunch with friends, seated outside; view of water and a nice breeze. Great cocktails and tasty satisfying apps and mains. Pleasant waitstaff.
Sat outside…nice ambiance. Some slight discomfort due to heat radiating from the roof covering in outdoor area. Food was good, service was good…all in all a nice lunch dining experience!
