Excellent quality food and service. This has got to be the best Chinese Restaurant in Essex. Its not cheap and you will need deep pockets and that's why we only go occasionally.

Would definitely recommend, the food is excellent. For any one who enjoys Chinese food, especially the Dim Sums this is the place to go!

Food was served hot and fresh, very tasty, we had a set menu which was not rushed. Enough time between courses to enjoy fully. Seems like the food is high quality. Staff are friendly polite and very efficient. May be more expensive than other restaurants but it is definitely worth the money.

We felt safe due the tables were spaced at least 2 metres a part . We could dine and enjoyed our meal . Good experience.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Authentic Chinese dishes cooked perfectly. Classic dim sum style, everything was delicious and we will certainly be going back to try more of the menu!

The staff were also wonderful. Really welcoming and charming. Can’t recommend enough.

Food was excellent as usual but felt very hurried and hassled by the staff. To a certain extent this is understandable with the COVID restrictions but they were definitely very over the top compared to other restaurants which are much more relaxing .

After being locked down for so long this was just what we needed. Superb food, superb service and superb evening.

As ever enjoyed a very pleasant Lunch - the one problem is how to avoid eating too much delicious food !

We think this is the best Chinese restaurant in Essex! We love both Yum cha for Saturday lunch, or a la carte for dinner. The service is always pleasant and efficient and in our opinion, the food is surprisingly good value. We have taken friends and family and visiting Australians to eat there and we’ve never had any complaints.

The food is very good but it was not very hot. Why can you not supply hot plates like many chinese restaurants. You are our favourite restaurant so please don't spoil it by serving lukewarm food.

This is a consistently good Chinese restaurant with a versatile menu and excellent service. I have been visiting Banquet for a number of years and have always had an excellent expu.

Lovely set menu with very generous portions and delicious duck

I felt that the staff were quite rude here, we felt as if we were being rushed through the process. The starter platter arrived before we received our drinks. The staff just seemed to be rushing to get us out. I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a premier Chinese restaurant- the prices were certainly premier but the experience, sadly less so.
We found the food distinctly ordinary, the shredded duck was cold and not shredded on the table in front of us which, to me suggests it was mass produced and possibly not fresh.
We both had a nice evening but I wish I had spent the £100 for the meal for two at a truly first rate venue. Won’t be rushing back here, I think I’d rather spend far less at an all you can eat style Chinese buffet for a similar standard of food

We loved the food and the service was good. It would have been nice to have some background music. Cocktail was a little disappointing.

The Banquet was its usual exceptionally high standard. This was achieved alongside exceptional Covid 19 processes to ensure all customers and staff were safe. Thank you.

Great food! Good service apart from the hostess who asked what drinks we wanted when I barely put my coat on the chair, hardly had time to settle in first.

The food is good however mosf of them are salty, it could be better if its in moderate.

Service great, no ambience as such bright lights etc. Portion sizes of the set menu compared to other tables who ordered off the standard menu is significantly smaller! £90 for 2 set meals and 3 drinks and 1 soft drink seemed extortionate considering portion sizes

We greatly enjoyed a relaxed Dim Sum lunch on Saturday Up to usual high standard

Good food and friendly service. Unfortunately, we booked for early evening and there were too many young children, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault.
Smoked chicken starter was strangely sweet, but dim sum platter was good.
Singapore rice noodle and sautéd chilli prawns were excellent. Salt & Pepper green beans and crispy chilli beef were nice.
Overall, still good.

Very well looked after food was delicious, service was great. It was just a shame to see it so empty it’s usually full and buzzing
