Banyan On The Thames
Our stunning riverside location along with the choices of a varied menu of selected Euro-Indo- South East Asian flavours bring Banyan to the forefront. From the English charm of the Banyan Fish and Chips, other delights are the exceptional 200 gm English Steak, Mongolian Lamb or Honey Glazed Sea Bream.
In the summer months enjoying your meal al fresco adds another gentle element of gracefulness to your day. It is a romantic setting, as well as a great family place where children can watch helicopter landings as they eat from their own tastefully developed children’s menu.

The worst experience, i have never experienced such arrogant and unprofessional staff, no smile no welcome, they left us standing there while ignoring us, the food it self is not bad, nothing fancy but good quality, the staff though are terribly rude!!
Fab meal. Really attentive service, ordered steak which was cooked perfectly, will be definitely going back to try the rest of the menu!
Overall it wasnt bad, but there was a limit on the sandwiches. 1 for each person which in thought was a little stingy.. and one cake each .. having to pay for the robes to rent that were not full length either wasnt good, should have been included. The spa area was nice but ould have been bigger as there was quite a few ppl there .
Great place for One2One as of romance. Private and exclusive & impressive
Great lunch spot!
Navsteva spa byla super, jen skoda ze pri prichodu vyply hudbu a bylo slyset jak lidi cvici v posilovne. Bylo by vhodne kdyby nabizeli vodu pri vstupu.
excellent service , food and ambience. ten out of ten
Just the best lunch spot!
If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. My experience here ruined what was a 40th birthday gift to my best friend. I booked afternoon tea and specifically asked for a pescatarian and vegan options.I called the restaurant in advance to find out if this would be possible and told that this would be fine.
When we're arrived we were told to pick from the menu in lieu of the vegan sandwiches. The limited menu that had no vegan options. We were told that they could adapt the biriani... Which was declined was we'd come for afternoon tea. We settled on a veggie burger sandwich and chips (both tasted mediocre) and were assured that there would be vegan options in the cakes.
When the sandwiches, scones, cakes are brought out, we asked which were vegan and the waiter said he'd have to check with the chef. He came back to confirm that none of the scones or cakes were vegan. So there were no vegan options at all. Who would want a sandwich and chips when they have gone out for afternoon tea?!?
I booked the booking well in advance and even called the restaurant the day before to double check. They single handed turned a birthday celebration to a horrible experience!
Great food! Lovely staff
It felt a bit rushed and we went for afternoon tea, once seated we got our food immediately and then the waiter/waitress didn’t come over again at all not even to give us the bill. Very bad service and the afternoon tea was very small.
Good food great atmosphere. Best sight but parking is limited
I booked this restaurant about 6 weeks ago, knowing that we would be in Battersea for the weekend and looking for somewhere romantic to eat on the Friday night. The moment we arrived I could sense we had made a mistake. A very rowdy group of drunk people were at the bar - shouting, swearing and disturbing the ambiance of the restaurant. The bar man served them another drink despite the fact they'd clearly had enough.
We were seated; I told the waitress twice that we'd made an online reservation but on neither occasion did she take my name to confirm our arrival. After about 10 minutes waiting, I made eye contact with the waitress and she said she'd be over shortly to take our order. Another 10 minutes passed and we still hadn't even placed an order for a drink. The other diners seated near us were also looking across at the rowdy drunk party at the bar, as were we. My husband and I said to each other that this was no longer worth the wait and we walked out. The waitress was so busy sorting out her till/computer that she didn't even look up to see us leave.
We ended up eating at the restaurant next door in the Battersea Crowne Plaza - a much more organised and pleasant experience.
Don't bother booking here - we had good money to spend but the staff here seemingly didn't acknowledge this. Very disappointing, particularly as we regularly come to London for weekend breaks.
I have also written this review on Trip Advisor to warn as many people as possible.
We had an afternoon tea voucher bought as a Christmas present, when we booked the table we input the voucher code but we couldn't print the voucher off, however, we took the confirmation email from Wowcher and showed it on our arrival and everything was fine. We arrived early but it was not a problem and a table was available. The afternoon tea was lovely and the service was really good. Would recommend.
Staff were helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere and location were great even on a stormy day, will be back in the sunshine! Food was good, te cakes quite small but very sweet so was plenty with the delicious sandwiches and scones.
I wouldn't recommend tea but I would recommend Lunch or dinner.
Had the most wonderful time on my birthday. Everything was lovely. Thank you
So I booked tea with spa day for my friend and I. On arrival to the hotel it was a bit confusing as we could not find anyone to help or direct us. I was able to park in a small space which was at the side of the entrance. Eventually went into the office where I was told where to go. Was kind of expecting a member of staff to at least escort. Anyway found the spa and was greeted by a pleasant gentleman explaining where things were etc. Spa area was quite small but quiet. Steam room was not working which was disappointing, then after 10 minutes in the sauna, that also stopped working. After 45 minutes decided to change and sit in the relaxation room until it was time for tea. Having to go back outside to another building to find the restaurant, still no one to show us we were pointed to a table where we could take our pick. Now, for such a prestigious hotel and all the reviews I have read I would expect to be shown to my seat. So after sitting there for almost 10 minutes a waiter just turns up with 2 glasses of Prosecco which was quite nice and 2 glasses of water. Then again no engaging with customers or anything. Then another waiter turned up with our sandwiches etc, now this is where I was feeling quite annoyed as we were. To asked if we had any dietary requirements (I’m a pescatarian). The scones were lovely I have to admit, sandwiches were fresh and bread really soft. Did not rate the tiny cakes that had been provided, we had to cut in half to share as they were so random. shortly afterwards the waiter came and asked tea or coffee and again when they delivered it to me I had to ask if they had any soya or almond milk. Please don’t just assume we all drink cows milk!! The waiter did not even apologise just took the pot. After we had finished the waiter came over to ask for my voucher code and off he went. They didn’t even clear the table while we sat and had a chat. I was quite miffed by this stage as my friend and I do teas quite often and could. To help bu
Visited with friends as part of a spa/afternoon tea combo. Spa was disappointing, but afternoon tea was marginally better. Handful of other guests using the restaurant but no-one at reception to greet us. We had a lovely view of the Thames. Food was average but nicely presented. Warm scones were the highlight, we had to guess the sandwich fillings tho and didn't eat the cake things as no allergy advice provided nor were we asked - looked like nut shaving on some of the cakes. No hot beverages offered Enjoyed the company of my friends but Banyan experience was lacking in customer service.
I would recommend the Restaurant and food, but definately would not recommend spa much much too small, steam room not working, cowarded to small to the amount of people booked.
The groupon deal was great, however the service was slow and we had to flag down the waiter several times for water and tea.
The afternoon tea was nice but the only thing the waiter said to us was, “tea or coffee”. Checked my voucher and handed it back. No eye contact, no chat, not much of a service at all
What a great night!
The food was delicious, the view was delightful and service was impeccable.
To top it off, I got engaged!
It's a venue and a night I'll never forget!
Lovely afternoon tea and river view. service and food was great .
The afternoon Tea was terrible , bad sandwiches all very cold smoked salmon was low quality , and the chicken paste was terrible all white low quality bread there was nobody in there the atmosphere was dead and the chairs and tables outside were dirty and the ash trays full , the staff tried but not a good experience
Totally enjoyed the relaxation of the spa area.. was an added bonus when I found put it 2as in the the afternoon tea for 2 would recommend this little hideaway all day long.. luvky experience for me and my 72 mum x
We had access to the spa prior; the showers were dirty and the whirlpool did not work. There was no water available by the sauna or steam room.
The afternoon tea experience was nice. Great staff team (bar tenders and waiters).
We got the spa and afternoon voucher from a friend. Honestly, we should have forgotten this vouncher. Its just wasted our time to go there. Afternoon tea wasnt that good and spa was really ridiculous, super small and crowded. We havent tried there food but the afternoon tea was joke.
The customer service was outstanding. I was treated with great respect and care. I have been to the restaurant before and found the staff to be curt. However on Sunday I thought that the staff were fabulous. Well done and please continue with that level of care for the customers.
Ordered a champagne afternoon tea and got badly made sandwiches with chilli sauce, no offer of tea we had to ask, not attentive service and Prosecco instead. I don’t think the advertising of a champagne afternoon tea was fair, no issue with Prosecco but you are charging for something else
We booked with my friend by Groupon and was the best choice ever .
In our booking was included an afternoon tea with champagne and a spa entrance inside the Hotel . The spa is little but was not busy then was the perfect Saturday afternoon .
I will raccomande this place . I will come back for sure
This restaurant is an enigma to for me, because the food was outstanding. It was plentiful, tasty and Moorish. However apart from 3 other diners, the place was empty, so I have to wonder why? Yes it was a rainy day, and it was a Thursday, but the food alone, should of been enough reason to come out on such a day. We had meat platter and scallops for starters, both were HUGH and we could of shared, very tasty. Then we had Mongolian lamb with Jasmine rice, I had the rib eye steak. WOW. After that we shared a cheese platter.
Good value for money and attentive service.
We had the afternoon tea and the bread for the sandwiches tasted a little stale unfortunately.
Nice venue but afternoon tea was very basic. Would not go again.
The staff were not very friendly, the service was poor and we were rushed out as they were setting up for a party that evening.
Had the most expensive steak dish with a side mixed vegetable dish. Very nicely cooked and well presented.
It was a lovely experience just sitting outside by the Thames having afternoon tea.
Lovely hotel .afternoon bit poor few dried sandwiches scones and little cakes.never recieved pot of tea at start had to ask twice for it.
Was disappointed especially when it was a 50th birthday present.
The environment was pleasant and the food - when it finally arrived - was good. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The restaurant was at 30% capacity at best, and there seemed to be an adequate number of staff members available, but it took over 15 minutes for our initial order to be taken, and well over an hour for our food to arrive. We were on the verge of leaving and going elsewhere when the food came. Sad to say, the order was incomplete.
Throughout the meal, no-one came to our table to ask us if the meal was okay, and if we needed anything. At the end of the meal we signalled for the cheque; true to form, it took an age for someone to attend to us. When the bill arrived, they'd charged us for chunky chips that never made it to the table.
Regrettably, I don't think we'll be returning.
Good value. View of the thanes. Excellent food
