We enjoyed the set lunch menu although there was egg in 2 of the 3 dishes, egg yolk in the sauce for chicken chop and then in the rice bowl. It feels like the baos have gotten smaller although still delicious. I have been a regular at the original location and this is my 3rd visit to this branch. The noise level sitting upstairs is very high, ask to sit downstairs to watch the food prep and for less din.
Always a pleasure dining at BAO Fitz, fantastic food and great service
My boyfriend said that the menu offering has stepped up tremendously since the last time we came almost 18 months ago. I absolutely loved it. Hopefully I will come to eat more often now I know the food has surpassed expectations since the last time I came.
Great service - tiny portions and the seats on the bar are extremely uncomfortable after a awhile!
Good food but the service was a bit slow at times, but very friendly.
The bun is slightly salty but it was fine ! Will come back for more
Dinner with friends visiting from abroad, first time for all of us having baos and Taiwanese food. Amazing experience and the food was mind blowing
Can’t recommend the black cod Bao or chicken with soy egg enough - great food and a fun place.
Simply delicious! awesome and personalized service by knowledgeable staff. will be back again and again!
The food was amazing! The bone marrow rice and the peanut milk blew us away. Will definitely be coming back. A little pricey but not weird for Central London. Next time I will be coming in with a small fortune!
Food was as good as I had hoped (and hopes were high!) and the staff were fantastic in helping us to manage with a sleeping baby as well. Delicious, fast, and great service.
We were greeted by a lovely waiter who did his best to accommodate for us. He didn’t however tell us the Classic had pork in it which he recommended and my girlfriend does not eat pork. Whether this is obvious or not, neither of us have ever eaten Bao so we weren’t to know any better.
I personally felt like we were a hindrance after notifying the waiters we didn’t want a pork dish. When my girlfriend asked for a different dish, seconds later she changed her mind but the waitress who took the order replied “oh I’m sorry I’ve already sent the ticket” and I had to politely ask her to go tell the chef to not cook the new dish.
I work in hospitality myself, and the service and ambience of the restaurant isn’t at all what I feel makes people feel comfortable. I understand we came in at lunch when business meals take place and some customers just want to be given food and left alone, but a smiley can-do attitude wouldn’t hurt and it’s important not to assume every customer is the same.
Service was quick and food was lovely, but due to the quality of service and ambience I won’t be going back.
I was taking my girlfriend out for her birthday before she leaves to go to New York.
Bao is fabulous. Every dish was sensational and creative. The deign of the restaurant, which is small, is equally creative.
Quaint place with great food. Lunch special is a good deal too!
Servings were small, food was alright
Outstanding food with helpful and king staff. A must if you like bao buns. Would eat there every week if i could.
Their Soho branch is much better. At this one, we were ignored. After a long wait of no service we had to actually ask to get a menu and given an empty tea pot with no tea in it. The choices were lacking in comparison to Soho and everything was fried and greasy. Wouldn't visit this one again and makes me doubt whether the original is worth a repeat now. I adored my experience at Soho last summer.
Always great food. So delicious, creative and well executed. I just keep coming back for more.
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Would be very happy to recommend to friends.
Amazing food, super friendly staff, subtle and calm ambience. Portion sizes could be slightly bigger though, for what you're paying.
Small and casual bar side lunch. Friendly service and fabulous food, especially the beef short rib bao. Sweet potato sour also amazing!
