Stunning well prepared, cooked and presented food. Authentic Portuguese flavours. The team was friendly, but my highlights go to the chef. Impeccable service and incredibly well seasoned and cook to the exact point. Recommend without hesitating
Food, Customer service, Atmosphere.
Everything was truly fantastic.
We had bar seats so we had the opportunity to watch everything being made before our eyes. Delicious. The food was so tasty that we forgot to take pictures..... 🤣🤣🤣
Delicious, authentic Portuguese tapas with efficient and friendly service. Great atmosphere too. Could not recommend more highly.
Thank you Bar Douro!
I liked the menu. Food was reasonable. Value was okay. Service was really good. We had a fun night.
Overall a bit disappointing, especially for the prices.
We were really disappointed to be pressured to be giving our table back. The host told us that we were warned by phone on the day of the reservation (we weren't). And she also started the 2 hour time on the table when just 2 (of our party of 4) arrived early and asked if we could come in for a drink. We weren't warned of this consequence of having an early drink - if we'd known we just would've gone nearby elsewhere. Not recommended overall.
Fantastic food, wine and service. Will definitely come back again!
Lovely setting and experience. Nice mix of different tastes.
Lovely restaurant, great food and a good ambience
Really amazing food, lovely service!!
Nice intimate place for a couple or two or three friends! They have some tables outside with heat lamps so the weather allowing it’s a nice option! The plates are to share tapas style and excite your taste buds!If you are starving and looking for a substantial meal this is not the place for you!Great wine selection and very friendly staff who know their wine and food menu!Try the green wine made from typical Portuguese grapes!Unusually tasty.
Overall a great experience. Attentive staff, great food and wine. Would recommend and return!
The food is delicious in pleasant secluded location
Being a Portuguese national, the food was ok. Some dishes with good flavours, some others not quite as they should have been but not entirely bad. Overall it was a good experience.
Probably the most authentic Portuguese tapas in the U.K.
Wine options were good, and delicious. The only issue was that we felt very pushed to order quickly, despite having the table for 2 hours. We were told countless times the table wasn’t available after 8pm, and we should order food because it could take 45mins to arrive. After ordering all our food arrived within 10 minutes!!
Would come again but probably just for wine!
Thank you for amazing experience at your restaurant! Food was great, lovely customer service.
Exceptional service and authentic, delicious food which makes me want to go back asap! There is a comprehensive wine list.
Fab food and great service. Waiter gave us some good recommendations on food and wine.
Excellent all round, fantastic food and service. Great wine and port.
What a great place, absolutely loved it, we all did. Absolutely recommended. Go with confidence. Service, food and wine all supberb.
Great staff, great atmosphere and nice restaurant, food was unexciting but not bad!
Very pricy. Not many options on the menu. Octopus with sweet potato was not available for order at 9pm. However, the customer service was good.
Really relaxed and beautiful atmosphere, excellent service and a lot of fun.
Amazing food (many vegetarian options), friendly and professional staff in a classy setting.
Great spot. Very helpful staff, excellent food and atmosphere. I would advise booking to ensure a good seat. Extensive wine list, not necessarily the cheapest but worth every penny if you like wine.
This is the second time I've visited Bar Douro so knew what to expect. The waiter was really attentive, everything is spotlessly clean and they even gave us a choice of seating which was lovely. The wine and the food were delicious. Well cooked came in time and was very filling. I can't remember the name of the dish but my favourite was the steak - scrumptious and the dessert I had was the chocolate mouse which was like a runny mouse with a giant chocolate cornflake in it. Deeeeelish. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
The food was fantastic and the waiting staff attentive. Would highly recommend to friends and strangers. There was more than enough for 3 people. Good value and very tasty.
We had a very convivial evening - 4 of us. We sat on the terrace. Service was absolutely great - someone there when you wanted but not when you didn’t! The food was delicious!! Will definitely go back.
The food was excellent and it was the second time I had been there with the first being over two years ago
Delicious garlic prawns and beetroot salad! All very tasty in fact. Have been here three times now and am always very happy!
Came here for my birthday with my Portuguese girlfriend.
Dishes were fine, nothing particularly special for London. In fact we felt it lacked the 'Portuguese touch'.
The differences start with the tiny plates, lack of staples like clams / pork, to the flavour of the food... As well the usual Portuguese hospitality is missing... It was some of the tiniest octopus i ever seen 😅
The meal felt like a watered down and underwhelming Barrafina.
Also, even though I specified it was my birthday, there was no special mention nor any care given... I may as well should have gone somewhere else.. Extremely average meal for London, I would have been happier at Nandos to be honest.
The garlic prawns were sublime!! Not so impressed with the poussin (not very flavorful) and croquettes (too acidic)
Bacalhau ao bras and pataniscas de bacalhau were delicious. Highly recommended. Pork ribs very taste. Good quality.
Great food, great experience, will definitely be coming back!
Awesome food. Fair price
Amazing food, amazing wine, bit cramped inside and one of our dishes didn’t come for so long which was the only downfall
Food was good, but arrived plate by plate instead of all at once, and there was around a 20 minute gap between each dish.
Delicious! Yummy Portuguese food presented tapas style, with some modern twists of reinvention. I’m still thinking of that cinnamon ice-cream! What a lovely surprise and twist to a staple of Portuguese food/dessert: custard tart with cinnamon. Amazing!
Relaxed atmosphere with very good service. The food was in a tapas style but all of the Portuguese favourites were on the menu - sardines, Piti Piti chicken & bacalhau. The quality of the food was very good & the wine list was extensive.
All-in-all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
