Unique and modern take on some classic Portuguese dishes. Had a great meal and will return when next in London.
Convert to white port and tonic!
Lovely food, and a menu a little bit different with interesting ingredients and combinations. A small venue so there wasn’t that much space but that was fine for our group.
attentive service, very Portuguese, and tapas so much more delicious and unusual; than Spanish. Don't miss the Bacalau which is worth the trip in itself...
Great food and great service! The best restaurant I’ve been in 2019!
Just outstanding - simple, authentic and Portuguese.... Love it!
Second visit was as great as the first. Lovely helpful waiter both times - we will be back!
Excellent food, great venue and good service. Also good value for money!
Loved my dinner AGAIN!! The menu changes frequently but the service stays as good as ever.
The food and wine was absolutely delicious, the staff were knowledgeable and attentive and the ambience was lively. We had a lovely evening!
Wonderful food, cook and staff gave good information about origins of food.
Perfect experience. First timers for Portuguese food. Waitress and cook helped us through menu. Wine great and affordable. Had 5-6 selections. All dishes were wonderful and different. Would highly recommend. Want to go to Portugal now 😀
Really great evening at Bar Douro. Food, wine selection, staff and atmosphere was amazing. Will be back!
Granted it was only my second time there by so far it’s Hands down Best Portuguese restaurant in London.
Really good food, pricing normal for London. Service could be better.
Very delicious food and good environment
We came for my birthday and it was perfect, will definitely be back!
Need more tables outside. Food and service was great
Very good value set lunch but food bland. Croquetes de Alheira (Smoked Portuguese sausage) was indeed smokey but not meaty enough and lacked something to give it a bit of a lift, it sat on a dollop of acidic sauce/mayo. Bacalhau à Brás (salt cod hash) was all hash and no cod. Unattractive presentation, lots of little potato sticks bound into an oval shaped mound, a few half olives here and there and an almost invisible amount of cod. This was particularly bland.
Delightful interior, excellent Churchill white port and tonic. Waitress didn't smile once.
The staff was polite, professional and the food divine
Great! Really really great.
It's a small place so booking in advance is recommended. We tried several dishes of their menu and everything was nicely cooked and presented. The wine selection is also very good. I highly recommend it.
This was our fourth time here. The food was, as ever, excellent. As was the service and the wine. We could see the food cooked in front of us which was great!
This was my second visit to Bar Douro and it won’t be my last. The food was outstanding from the bread to all the fish dishes and the chorizo. The service was friendly and warm and genuine recommendations and swaps were suggested. The house wine was great too. All round great value.
Five star service. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very welcoming. No doubt we found a bit of Portugal in the middle of London.
Great food and service. Having booked for four people, five of us turned up and they were very accommodating. The food is great and authentic, the wine list very well selected and the service incredible food and cheerful! Thank you very much for a great evening
I would eat here every day if I could think up the occasion.
Just great. Food was amazing. Great people working here. We loved this place & will be back soon.
A very pleasant surprise. A beautiful space located under a railway arch but with a sunny area out front & a stylish counter style wine bar inside. Food was excellent, beautifully presented & every dish was delicious. Shrimps, octopus, croquetes, cod fritters, grilled chicory plus desserts! Good value, very good house wines available in half litre carafes plus delicious Portugese gin cocktails. Food was fabulous & the staff were so charming & helpful explaining dishes. I recommended Bar Douro to 2 groups of friends whilst eating here. Will return for sure.
Really excellent food, particularly for the price. We've eaten at a lot of similar places in the area and further up closer to borough, but this really stands out.
Very impressive and great to watch and talk to the Chefs.
Had a fab birthday lunch at Bar Douro. The service was excellent and the £35 a head menu was delicious.
Great Portuguese food and great choice of wine! The only downside was that service was a little slow at the end of our meal, but they were closing so it could have been that.
I would definitely go back and would commend anyone to go!
Great food, very kind and pleasant chef, nice place. Really worth to come back
Lovely place, amazing Portuguese food. Just one thing to point, the service was a bit slow due to the servers being running from one side to the other, but once they were there they were very nice and always anticipating any issues that we might have. Polish lady, can't remember her name sorry, as amazing hospitality skills, it's this kind of people that makes us return to a place and enjoy no matter what. Great project
Spent our first anniversary here after getting married in Portugal, brought back all the memories we had from the year before! The chefs created great food and had lots of great things to say while we dined at the counter! Front of house couldn’t do anymore so generous in knowledge, passion and making our night special!
Thank you and we will be back
Very good service and food, only thing Portuguese food is known for its simplicity and the food here was a little over complicated and surprisingly no sardines or braised pork with clams... it was a tad pricy but would go again
Outstanding. Very welcoming team. Fantastic food and one of the best bottles of wine we have drunk in a restaurant for years.
The food was absolutely amazing and we all hoped we could come again. Probably better suited to groups of two or three - as a five the curved bar set up wasn't very sociable as you could only really talk to whoever was directly next to you, and sharing the food was a bit awkward
