We had a booking and despite it being not busy at all we’re seated in the covered part which is nothing sort of a furnace on a hot day - and we were also placed beside the only couple there - with the tables literally inches apart- no social distancing whatsoever. Asked to be moved outside which was vaguely more pleasant. No effort however to make this glorified allyway pretty. Riviera looked much more appealing - which was good since their music was all we were able to hear from bar story. Mediocre drinks - which had no descriptions on the app- hence you don’t know what you are ordering. Gulped down our drink to hotfoot it to a better location and establishment. Soz - needs to do better.

Really cool venue inside the railway tunnel however service wasn’t great as it was super difficult to order drinks or find someone to take your order. The wifi also went down so orders couldn’t be taken

I wish I liked Bar Story but every time I go it reminds me I really don’t. The drinks menu has a whole list of wines they don’t actually sell. We waited 20mins to get someone to take our drinks order. The beer tasted a bit off & like the beer pipes hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. I was excited for dinner for 100 pizza as i regularly get this from their telegraph hill spot but they’d sold out of the special and the pizzas were a bit cold and really undercooked when they arrived. I want to love bar story but... I just can’t when it’s like that.

The IPA was off (flat, tasteless), service was incredibly slow with drinks taking nearly half an hour to arrive, staff were nice enough but repeatedly failed to come back to the table and take orders, women's loo floor flooded by 6pm. Pizza was good enough though.

Dinner for 100 pizza at Bar Story is amazing and well worth the visit, especially for wild Wednesday when they’re only £5 each! However, drinks service is woefully slow, even late when it’s not busy it was still taking 15-20 mins just to get a couple of pints and Diet Coke.

The cocktails were really great, however it took us an hour to get our drinks and it took us almost two hours to put in an order for food. The drinks waitress was really great and attentive (we ended up ordering 3 times with her before our first drink arrived!). They need to speed up service and merge their drinks and food ordering.

We came to Bar Story on a Tuesday eve for a couple of drinks, the service was extremely slow despite the venue being not even 1/4 full. Staff also seemed pretty unbothered about all the tables waiting for drinks. The food looked pretty good though and arrived for others promptly.

I usually really like this place, but this was not a great experience. Service was slow with a 20 minute wait for drinks, despite it not being particularly busy. There weren’t staff around to ask for drinks, as they all stayed inside, so on a couple of occasions one of us had to go inside to get someone’s attention. It’s a really cute place with a nice vibe, but this particular visit was a bit of a disaster

-Took 15 minutes to seat us for our booking as people were sat at our table -Table was not cleaned (come on - we are in a pandemic!) -We waited a further 45 minutes until someone took our drinks order - We (4 people) were sat at a 6 person table and they sat 2 strangers at our table. Not socially distanced -Place was crammed in - again, not socially distanced -Staff were rude and unfriendly (although I hardly blame them seeing as they were clearly understaffed for the amount of people packed into the bar) -One staff member said we could stay at our table for another hour since there was no booking following us, so we ordered another round of drinks. Once they arrived, another staff member told us we had to leave since we'd been there for 2 hours. -Toilets were filthy. Half our group opted to just wait until we got home... Overall, this experience was not good at all. We won't be rushing back any time soon. The only saving grace was the pizza which was affordable and came out quickly - and the guy who took the pizza orders was really friendly.

The pizza was really tasty but the service was poor. We waited for 45 minutes for our order to be taken as we kept being told by the staff that came by that they only took drinks orders or collected empties. Quite w frustrating experience overall.

- extremely poor service. Rude waiters and we never actually got a drinks menu. The house white is absolute garbage. - no hand sanitizer, but empty pumps which everyone ends up touching. - very tightly packed seating, not acceptable even pre pandemic. Borders on criminal. - the pizza is actually decent, but that’s not Bar Story. And the service from the pizza guys is brilliant.

Best pizzas and great cocktails. But takes ages to be served, because of Covid they haven’t got a good system in place. Would be better if you could order on an app like most places do. Staff are so lovely though.

Great Pizza's from Dinner For One Hundred and nicely priced at £5 (Wednesdays only) however the drinks took quite a while to come out. Understand that they're busy but maybe need some more staff. Staff were super nice and helpful though :)

i’ve never reviewed anywhere badly before but i felt compelled to. the service was terrible, i understand things are different now with socially distanced ordering and customers need to be more patient as bars adjust. it was more the attitude of the staff that made me feel very unwelcome. the amount of bar staff standing around doing nothing was ridiculous. for a bank holiday sunday, the bar was very quiet. our server seemed coked up and genuinely annoyed every time we asked to order a drink with her. the pizza was very liquidy but i didn’t expect much for £6 anyway. i get they might be going for a bit of a care free vibe with the aesthetic of the venue but at least hire decent staff that want to be there.

I had a good time overall. Beer was good, ambiance was good. The only negative aspect of my experience was the table location - it was a bit awkward as I always had to either stand up or scoot in to allow people to pass by.

Lovely pizza and most staff were friendly but took 20 mins to be seated even though had a booking and with a 2 hour limit on the table (understand want to share to pub love during this time) but only had time for 2 drinks as service was so slow. If going to be strict with times need to be hot on service.

We went last Saturday (first weekend re-opening after lockdown) and it was busy, which we expected, and I am sure Bar Story expected that too. We had a booking and it took them 20 minutes to seat us. The booking management was poor, there were several queues, no info, nobody greeted us, etc. When we finally got to the table we felt a bit uncomfortable about how close the tables were and we were impressed by how understaffed they were. There were only 3 waiters for about 25 tables. 10-15 minutes to get our order taken and we get told that there is a 20-25 min wait to get the drinks suggesting we doubled our order. We decided to leave.

Good vibe and buzz, delicious pizzas, nice staff, but the ordering system could be improved. You scan a code to see the menu, but have to flag down staff to order, which wasn’t easy given how busy it was. It took a full hour for our drinks to arrive, which isn’t ideal when you can only book a table for two hours.
