' BAR VERDE
It was nice.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The staff is fantastic btw. Excellent vegan Mexican food. The flan was outstanding! We will be coming back soon.
Absolutely horrible service. My friend and I went for dog restaurant week, so we were seated outdoors. We got bottomless mimosas. The waitress, though she went in and out multiple times, continuously forgot to serve us a refill of the mimosas even with reminders, so we ended up only having 2 within the time limit. Our food was fine. A bit overpriced as nachos should not be $18, however they were delicious. When we were brought the check, the dog restaurant week deal said we’d get 15% off of our bill however that was not honored. After we gave her 2 credit cards, she put both sides of the check on one card! Seriously? To fix this situation she took another 20 minutes. This was such a poor experience. The food is great, but not worth going back to because of this poor service.
Food was nice and service was good. Need to improve the air conditioning
Super fantastic food and ambiance! It’s generally on the louder side and more energetic so I recommend to go with a group! The tacos are superb
One of my favorite Vegan and Mexican bar/restaurant!
Bar verde was amazing. My partner isn’t even plant based and he was over the moon over the food. Our new date night fav
Terrific food and even better service. I came with my parents and family on a Thursday evening. We loved it - great selection and very attentive service. The food presentation was really something else and the habanero sauce made a big difference. Would definitely come back!
The food is simply amazing. I am a vegetarian but my husband is not. We both enjoyed our meal. Everything that we ordered was very good especially the mushroom empanadas. Highly recommend dining at the restaurant
I’m so happy I picked this place to celebrate my 40th. Everything we ordered was so good! I’m still thinking about the butternut squash queso on the nachos.
Awesome place, amazing food and great service! Will definitely be going back again.
This was our second visit to Bar Verde, and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. We are all (in general) animal protein eaters, but the vegan Mexican cuisine here is so good that it almost made vegans out of us. We particularly liked the hearts-of-palm ceviche and the mushroom quesadilla.
We were meeting a vegan family member for dinner. I discovered Bar Verde from Eater on the internet. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of foods offered, all vegan. They also have tasty cocktails, wines, and a large selection of beer. All of the food was hearty and didn't miss the animal products at all. I had the mushroom and onion quesadilla that had cashew cheese. It was delicious and filling. We had the guacamole and salsa starters. The dips were wonderful, especially the one made with pepeta (wish they would bottle it!) The chips were too think for my liking but that's a small criticism. All in all, we all enjoyed our dinner; both vegans and omnivores!
This was our first time at Bar Verde, and we loved it--and we are not generally fans of vegan cuisine. The heart-of-palm ceviche was truly excellent, as were the jackfruit tacos.
Waited 20 minutes for our table and when they finally seated us they put us at the bar where we could barely hear each other talk
Amazing food! The farro chorizo tacos were perfect and the churros were to die for.
I’ve been to Bar Verde twice already and could not recommend it enough for a date or a night out with a small group of friends. Service, drinks, food, and ambiance were amazing. Obviously owing to its fantastic dining experience, the place was packed in tight and it was pretty loud. If you’re hoping for a more intimate, quiet night, perhaps avoid going at times bound to be busy. Taco portions are on the smaller side, so if you’re jonesing for a delicious taco, share an app with your eating companion- those portions are quite large. Half an app with the 2 tacos and a Paloma (or one of their other amazing cocktails) make for an excellent and exciting dinner.
Fantastic food and drinks, not just good for vegan, good period. Highly recommended as is the related pizza joint, Double Zero.
Service was excellent, food was very good, couldn’t believe it was vegan. The manager was very kind and our server was so nice. Walking in the prices were kind of expensive but the food was worth the price. My favorite dishes were the nachos and the Brunch Burrito.
Meszcal drinks were on point. Nachos and the jackfruit taco we’re absolutely amazing. Arturo was fabulous as usual! Thanks for another beautiful experience! 💚🌱
Food was delicious!!! Tastes good and good for you! Was a little pricy but would def go again.
Over priced drinks, their prices are the same as Michelin Star restaurants .
This is the Mexican food I’ve been missing since I went vegan. Everything tasted exactly how I remember it should. I went there for brunch. The enchiladas and guacamole were especially good. The restaurant is a great place for patio dining. The servers were attentive, but didn’t hover. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend.
Didn't realize it's all vegan until we got there.. But fun and interesting takes on traditional Mexican food, with great margaritas
Great plant based food. Pineapple mezcal margaritas were good.
PETA’s sexiest vegan approved
One of the best vegan meals I've ever had! The food was so delicious, I think I could bring my meat-eating friends here and convert them to a plant-based diet.
Excellent vegan food. Staff very helpful. Ingredients carefully explained.
Way too hot and loud- had a reservation and has to wait 10 minutes- hostess tried to seat us in the back where it was way too hot even though they had multiple open tables at the front and had to ask to be reseated. The crowd was really loud and seating was way to close. Spent my meal in silence because I couldn’t even think the people near me were all shouting to talk. I’m a vegan and love Mexican food and live in the area but will never return!
Friendly enthusiastic staff. Great Mexican themed plant based food. Very tasty. Good wine list. We loved it
Super great vegan restaurant with a more than decent wine selection and a nice vibe. Perfect for a group dinner with friends!
By far one of my favorite vegan spots to take non vegan people! So fancy and beautiful presentation. Wait staff are always in a good mood. However it’s very expensive and they charge extra for flavored margaritas so I was a little resentful of my bill, not enough to stop me from going back. Highly recommend the verde guacamole!
Food and drinks were very good, though service wasn’t. We were stuck at a tiny table by the bar where waiters kept knocking into us. Plus it took 45 mins to get the check.
AMAZING food but pretty awful service.
One of the best vegan Mexican restaurants that I've been to in all of NYC. Really good Mexican food is hard to find, but vegan Mexican food??? Wow, these guys know what they're doing. This is the 4th time that I have eaten here and every time, I'm not disappointed. I also LOVE the music too, they play old school salsa music which is so nostalgic :) Would be great if they could open an area for dancing in the future :)
Delicious food, great atmosphere, solid drinks - 10/10 would recommend
Great food, gets kinda loud. The food was all yummy except the tacos are small. I got the mushroom tempura taco and it was teeny and $16. The nachos were great.
Beyond delicious! Can't wait to return and indulge!
Delicious food. Pretty good service. Knowledgeable waiters with useful advice on recommendations. Not just "this is popular" which I find annoying. Actually described flavors and ingredients and compared and contrasted dishes. Hearts of palm ceviche and mushroom tacos were amazing.
Cons: My margarita was a tad too sweet, tables are packed in like sardines and much too loud for conversation.
Would only go back early or when not too busy.
The food and service were outstanding, and I would definitely go there again - just never ever again on a weekend night. Two large parties (and a bunch of college students at the bar) meant that the volume of the place was deafening. It felt like being at a frat party, which is NOT chic...
