We love Bardea! Excellent flavor and texture combinations in the great selection of small plates and shareable meals. It's great to choose from some of our favorites, and try new offerings, like the burrata this time - wow!
We appreciate the consistently warm and friendly nature of the owners and staff. We hope to enjoy many more delicious meals at Bardea in the future!
Bardea never disappoints! Lovely cocktails and friendly, but not overly intrusive, service.
The food was so delicious. We’re already planning our next visit.
Great food and service. Loud but tolerable.
Loved the whole experience- excellent food and drinks. Can’t wait to come back!
Good food and drinks are to be found at this downtown Wilmington staple. Good outdoor seating as well as inside at their fashionable bar, or tables. Delicious small plate Grilled Octopus, as well as other small plates, and large plates for sharing .
Bruce was fantastic
Beautiful ambience drinks were amazing! Foods A1
Great Place for a date. Be prepared to arrive little early for parking purposes !
Overall definitely getting worth it.
Food and service was fantastic!
Food was incredible. We ordered dishes for table to share. Ricotta gnocchi was light as air, grilled romaine incredible, steak, shrimp everything delicious. Tables spaced apart so felt very private and reduced noise levels. Service was perfect, not intrusive but always there when needed. Highly recommend!
Restaurant was kept super clean and sanitized. Everyone was at a safe distance. This was a wonderful experience!
Amazing food - perfect date night. The gnocchi was so great we ordered it twice!
We were so happy to venture out after quarantine ended and celebrate our anniversary. The cocktails were wonderful, small plates were honestly not so small and unique, great flavors. Pasta was delicious. The restaurant design and ambiance were really terrific.
Everything was OUTSTANDING!
The food is delicious and unique. I will tell all my friends about it
Awesome restaurant. Amazing food, great service..
70th birthday girl dined during 30% COVID restrictions. The food was simply wonderful, the staff most gracious, the cleanliness most reassuring. My birthday surprise dessert and snapshot photo were great fun. The only issue was the noise level, which was high, and I wonder if the 30% occupancy limit made the dining room more of a hallow chamber. It was a lovely way to end a special day, all together.
So awesome that our favorite place is open again for business where we can actually dine in. The setup is fabulous and social distancing is not a problem at all. Chef has some great new additions to the menu so we tried a whole new selection. The grilled Romaine was out-of-this-world! And the burrata was just as good.
Great outdoor dining with their famous roasted chicken and goddess fries!
Excellent overall experience.
My husband and I drove for NJ to be able to enjoy a dinning our experience since Covid has left all restaurants closed. We had a wonderful experience. Not only were the food and drinks wonderful but the attention to detail with cleanliness was noted. Wonderful experience
We had great service, great food, great cocktails. Only complaint was that we were seated at a high top in the bar area and the chairs were very uncomfortable. Couldn't change seating due to COVID restrictions/requirements (would mess up their future reservations), but I will request to be seated in the dining next time. Overall a really great experience.
Incredible! Best food in the region by far.
Had a great night!
Re-opening night and we loved the new additions on menu that came from the take out menu
The burratta “a taglio” was a standout in an overall great meal.
Last hurrah to support a favorite before an anticipated mandatory shut down. Looking to forward to going back as soon as everything settles down. It will be a helluva party. Stay sanitized. Drop an extra $20 in the tip jar when you pick up takeout. The staffs of our favorites need our help.
Always incredible. Food is excellent, imaginative, fresh, creative!! Should be on the Best of lists!!!!
Loved the food!
Great cocktails, awesome food, wonderful service. Chef / owner came out to speak with us, and sent us a desert on the house. Really wonderful place - nothing like it anywhere near Wilmington. Still can’t believe that this place is in Wilmington.
Fantastic evening for a group dinner. A menu of primarily "small plates" can be a bit intimidating but our server guided us through our order and made excellent recommendations. Each plate was paced well. Nothing disappointed.
Bardea fancies itself a fine dining restaurant, having won a James Beard award, but I found it to be overpriced and inauthentic. Our server was very enthusiastic about the “new Italian cuisine” Bardea serves, and he proceeded to tell us about all of the exotic “fusion” ingredients now served in the majority of Italian restaurants. His mistake was that a couple in our group was from Italy, and the waiter’s claims were plainly untrue. We placed our orders, told that our small plates were meant to be shard family style and everything would arrive as it was finished in the kitchen.
I ordered the scallop ceviche and the squid ink pasta. The ceviche was over-salted and the pasta was lukewarm and had a one-note flavor. The problem with this dining model is that sharing the small plates is difficult in a group larger than a pair due to the small portion size. The timing of the meal was also problematic, as some members of our party finished their meal a full 20 minutes before other received their second course. When we asked the waiter if we could have a bit more of the sauce he had just poured on a plate, the answer was a firm “No”. He did eventually circle back and add the condiment to the dish, but in what fine dining restaurant does a server ever tell a customer “no” to a simple request such as ours?
The server, in his long-winded explanation of how the restaurant works, explained that Bardea had become known for its “Feed the Table” menu option, consisting of various sous vide meats finished in humidity controlled ovens. A half chicken was $32. I have eaten Thomas Keller’s mother’s recipe for roast chicken in his restaurant, and I can tell you, I was not charged as much.
Bardea is an over-complicated and underwhelming dining experience.
Fancy place for Wilmington, but very overpriced for the quality of food and way too loud and noisy to enjoy a quality dinner.
Outstanding food and service!!!!
Great ambiance. Drinks were awesome. Food was hit or miss but presented well
Excellent service, phenomenal food! Love this place!
Every thing was perfect! I enjoyed the food and company, everyone was great. I will definitely be back again. 😊😊
Great food and service. Thank you for making our friends birthday so special! Only complaint was that the restaurant was very, very loud. Perhaps fewer tables or something. Otherwise fabulous and fun!
