Good food, and really helpful adapting menu dishes for dietary requirements. Great and friendly service
Great food and service. The atmosphere is always perfect and they serve Spanish tapas better than many served in Spain itself.
This was the second time we have visited Barrica. The first time everything was really good, the squid, the meatballs, the ox cheek. The second time food was average. The food came cold and smaller portions than the first time. Not sure if we will visit again because we were disappointed.
Food was excellent, service was slow, but the ambience felt authentic.
Great service, great food. We had a person who needed to avoid dairy and they were very attentive and helpful finding out what was suitable on the menu or not. I would recommend.
Atmosphere was very nice, perfect for a casual Saturday as the place is quite vibrant. Food was good but service could have been much better (felt rushed plus servings did not follow any order)
Visited Barrica a number of times over the years. It has been outstanding every time. Friendly and genuine service, authentic food cooked and presented beautifully. The wine list is carefully curated; the sherry selection (critical for any Tapas restaurant worth it’s rosemary-salted-almonds) is, while not exhaustive, a great showcase of Spain’s finest fortified wine.
I met a friend after work for food and drinks. We had booked in advance. The serving staff were really friendly & helpful, but not quick. This meant our meal took longer than expected. It took ages for them to take our desert order and then ages to deliver. When they were about to deliver, they asked us to vacate our table and sit at the bar (!), so we had to lug all our bags and gear to a small cramped bar area to finish our meal. I was not impressed. It was a poor end to what had been a nice meal. The prices were a little steep for the amount of food too. Won't be returning for the above reasons.
A great place - brilliant tapas and lovely service
Great food and ambiance - friendly crowd
Food came strangely enough 2mins after we ordered and even before any wine or water was brought to the table. All 6 tapas were brought out at once, meaning half of them got cold quickly. Was used to better service in the past
Very pleasant visit for a business meal. Some tried and tested options on the menu as well as some that were a little more interesting. Was recommended the Cod which was indeed very good, our other favourite being the octopus. Overall good quality tapas and some nice wines.
Great little spot for some lovely tapas and fantastic wines
The Tapas dishes were quite small, much smaller than other Tapas restaurants my group has been too, so I wouldn't say it's the best value for money. Also the drinks were quite expensive. 1 Glass of red wine was over £8.
Barrica is always such a pleasure to visit! The staff are so amazing and the food is gorgeous!
Service a bit sketchy - female staff lovely, guy behind the bar in a tshirt very unfriendly and unhelpful. Food really delicious, with the exception of the mackerel dish. Chorizo and sweet potato and lamb dishes both outstanding. Yummy bread. Decent wine list. Would happily dine again.
Very good selection of tapas with great authentic taste. The wine list is very comprehensive and the staff is helpful to find a nice Spanish wine than meets your taste. Given the outstanding quality of the food, the prices are fine for London standards. Definitely recommend it for anyone loving tapas.
Quality Spanish Tapas. Beautiful hams and cheeses. Particularly good if you are a fan of Sherry
Really nice tapas, excellent service and great wine. All in all a very nice lunch - a bit dark inside but all good.
Barrica is such a superb restaurant. Always great food with great service.
Went for lunch and were very hungry. The food was what we expected tasty and filing. The rib eye steak and the lamp were so good we asked for a second round. Great friendly stuff and atmosphere. Will be going again and again
My favourite tapas in London. Authentic food, attentive staff and nice ambiance. Recommended again and again (been about 8 times)
Went here for a late lunch , not busy but not dead. The food we ordered was delicious ( 4 dishes between two ) and was sensibly priced. Good wine selection. The only downside was the difficulty in having a conversation as other customers loud voices echoed. Soft furnishings might help.
Good food and service but a little pricey.
Loved this place! Went by myself while my friend was working. Sat at the back bar and felt very comfortable there. Server was knowledgeable about wine and recommended a glass I loved. Had octopus dish and also crab salad; especially loved the octopus. Delicious - a great experience and I'd definitely recommend.
Barrica always delivers. They are as far away from a chain as one could get - they are a family restaurant with first class ingredients, cooking and wine and service
Great food. Great service. Not terribly relaxing in there as the whole evening my friends and I had to shout. Too too loud in there. Eat and dash!
Such a good Spanish restaurant in the heart of London. Food is authentic Spanish and always spot on. Such friendly staff too. If you love Spanish food then you will love Barrica.
Got here early for dinner with friends. We had booked a head but forgot to specifically request a table & chairs (which is important as most of the restaurant is high tables and tiny bar stools ) but the lady serving us was able to accommodate us after all. Food was good, especially the pulpo a la galega and the pimentos padron. The all Spanish wine list was extensive and staff was happy to advise and let us try different things, which we thought as wonderful. Great food, great drink, good service – but I still wouldn’t rush back simply because it was so incredibly noisy. I could hear other diners better than my friends and a four way conversation was out of the question. A real shame as it has everything else you’d want for a great night out.
Barrica never disappoints! Awesome service, delicious food and great wines!
Quality food in a wine bar setting. All very tasty with lovely bottle of wine
First time here and we really liked it. The service was friendly and efficient. The table was a good size. The lunch menu was great and my sherry, elderflower and mint cocktail was terrific. Food was fresh and very tasty. So all very good ...BUT it was really noisey. The place was full and there were a lot of people having a lot of laughs and loud conversations. For two quieter people trying to catch up on news, it was a bit tricky to hear ourselves at times. But a minor issue for what was a great visit. Many thanks
Had a lovely meal with a friend. Food was lovely with classic dishes as well as some a little different. Service was impeccable
Just excellent. Lunchtime birthday treat. Not too busy, really good service. Food top notch.
Excellent meal. Great location and top quality tapas (not too oily). Fab flavours.
The food is fantastic! Possibly one of the best Spanish/tapas meals I've ever had. A big statement I know. The specials were to die for. Firstly we had fish stock broth with squid, cod and prawns, the sauce was rich and flavoursome, perfect for dipping bread in. The Iberian beef with Caramalised onions was tender, juicy and packed with flavour - a real winner on our table. Another highlight were the pork croquettes, light, crispy and cheesy. The extensive wine list is also something to marvel, the waiter knew his wine and recommended accordingly to our tables taste and mood. The only criticism is that we waited a while to give our order, although the restaurant was fairly busy and only 1 guy was waiting tables. The food come very quickly as soon as it's ready which was perfect. If you are in Fitzrovia and love tapas, you must try this place.
Went on a first date. Great place perfect to talk and have small bites. Food was sooo good, only i didnt like the lamb but that could just be me. Ambience great, dimly lot. Service great, waiters are attentative. I will definately come back again!
I was unimpressed with the food here. They may have been authentically Spanish, but they were not the tapas I was used to. When I order patatas bravas I am used to small potato pieces, cooked to a crispy golden brown with a spicy aioli sauce on top, not spicy catsup and aioli. The other dish had chorizo and sweet potatoes. I eat chorizo frequently and this was a less than satisfying chorizo. The service was good, and it was near my destination, but given the glut of restaurants available in London, I would choose a different place to eat if I had it to do over again.
Always a warm welcome, fantastic tapas prepared with care and mixture of flavours. This is no ordinary tapas venue. Staff are lovely and give great advice on matching wine to your meal and personal palate.
Very good tapas. One of the best tasting restaurants i've been too in a long time and the service was great.
