I was very much looking forward to Sunday lunch here based on a couple of recommendations. However the choice of roasts was in my view limited. My husband ordered the lamb shoulder which arrived with the texture of pulled pork. The sauce was so salty that he could not finish the lamb which is unheard of from him. I ordered the plaice from the main menu which was cooked very well and enjoyed the aubergine accompaniment but this would not be to everyone’s taste. We mentioned the saltiness of the lamb to two staff but did not feel that our comments were particularly taken on board. Not sure that we will return as we were not as impressed by the food as we were hoping to be. Service is lovely apart from quite a long delay in checking if we wanted any dessert/coffee.

A beautiful evening at a fabulous restaurant. Bavette deliver contemporary delicious French food in a modern setting. The Comte croquettes and crème brûlée were a particular highlight.

We’ve been meaning to eat here for a while, since some friends recommended it. We had a wonderful evening. The owner was incredibly attentive and passionate about his food. The menu was small but still plenty of options. Everything was seasonal and cooked to perfection. Every part of the meal was perfect. Sensible portion sizes so we weren’t over faced. For the quality of the food and service the price was very fair, what I was expecting. Overall, fantastic experience, can’t wait to go again.
