The food in this restaurant equals that of a top London restaurant It is of course at this stage relatively new, but if they keep the standards as they are now, I’m sure they’ll do extremely well

We had a beautiful meal at Bavette last night and a lovely experience. It was our first visit and it really did live up to all the very positive reviews we had read and those of friends that had already visited. It is a high quality eatery but not at all pretentious and very comfortable and with a good atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Our food was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed every morsel and thought that whilst on the pricier side it was good value for money. For those that remember the original Outside Inn this is a worthy reincarnation. I would recommend Bavette. We booked our next visit before we left and are looking forward to that.

This was the best restaurant experience I’ve had. Restaurant was small but full (hate an empty restaurant; very suspicious). Atmosphere was relaxed. Service was attentive, friendly but discreet. Food was just superb. Recommended wine was perfect. Such a lovely evening. Please stay in Horsforth!

Lovely spot, nice ambiance, wine and food great! Weren’t rushed out on the first sitting so got to relax. Made a delish dirty martini! So happy to have a top resto near home and lovely to bring my rents here when I was visiting them from Canada! Will be even better when it’s a really well oiled machine. Will deffo return and tell all my friends to try!!

This is what food heaven much feel like. This was my 2nd visit to Bavette and my husband’s first so I was really excited for him to have the same experience I’d had before. However, it was even better than my 1st experience. We were the first people in the restaurant at 1200 for our Sunday lunch. You wouldn’t believe it though as the atmosphere was buzzing as the staff worked away chatting to each other and making a fuss of us. The restaurant was full within 45 minutes so make sure you book well in advance to get the time you’d prefer. The staff are so friendly and attentive and not at all overbearing. Their wine knowledge is exceptional and it’s great to hear someone speaking so passionately about wine. We ordered the Sunday roast cote de boeuf (and a couple of extras) as it sounded amazing on the menu. Boy was that the best decision of the day. The beef was outstanding and there was more than enough for 2 people. So much so, we asked to bring the leftover meat home which made delicious sandwiches later. The accompaniments were incredible. I love braised red cabbage and it was some of the best I’ve ever had and complimented the beef so well. The dauphinoise potatoes were delicious along with the Yorkshire puddings and green beans. We’d been a bit greedy and ordered extra roast potatoes, but they were so worth it and the empty plates spoke volumes. The quiet star of the show was the gravy. You could taste the love that had gone into making the gravy and we were so glad we’d ordered an extra jug 😉 All in all, we both agreed that this was the best Sunday lunch we’ve had for years and we can’t wait for our next visit.
