Bayards Cove Inn
Both the food and service were excellent. Standards have definitely improved in the last few months. Added back onto our list of favourite places to eat in Dartmouth.
Fabulous food and superb wine . The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Very good food and very friendly staff, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere we will definitely return
First class food, service, ambience, all round excellent.
We had an excellent evening at Bayards Cove Inn, it is set in a beautiful location. The food was exceptional and the staff were very courteous and professional, it was my husband's birthday and the host Tom presented him with a cake when we left which I thought was charming. When we visit Dartmouth again we will deffinateley be going back to Bayards!
Excellent food, well presented. Good value too. Wine list could have more options.
Waitress seemed a little overwhelmed when asking for little changes on the menu (dauphinoise rather than boiled potatoes), it is okay to say ‘Let me just check’, we would not have minded.
We did find the part of the restaurant we were seated in, a little dark, needed torch app on phones to help read the menu, then again it is 14th century building.
I would happily visit Bayards again, and recommend it to friends.
Fantastic food and service. Kids menu was good and they were great with kids too!
Smallish cosy restaurant in medieval building close to the quayside from which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to the New World via Plymouth. Nice atmosphere and service friendly and very helpful. Our starters included fried squid and baked Camembert. Both good Then two of us had chicken and three grilled plaice. My plaice was over cooked (a bit crumbly) but I let it go as I didn’t want to spoil the happy family occasion. I’ve subsequently been told - I don’t know whether it’s true - that the assistant chef cooks on Mondays, so perhaps it’s best to go on another day of the week.
Particularly pleased by the wine. Two bottles, one of Sauvignon, one of Merlot. Distinctly better quality for the price than in other similar Dartmouth restaurants.
Overall an enjoyable occasion only slightly marred by the experience with the fish.
The restaurant was recommended t us by friends who are regular visitors to Dartmouth, on their advise we booked ahead. The service was swift ad the food was very good. Would recommend.
Fantastic meal and lovely people
We visited for a family meal. The staff were really helpful organising food for our son who has multiple food intolerances. Really great food, lovely staff.
Outstanding food and atmosphere. The best place in Dartmouth
All round excellent hotel and eatery. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful evening at Bayards Cove Inn. It is a wonderful old building that I remember from when I was a child and it was an antiques shop, the current owners have managed to retain the charm of the building and that adds to the dining experience, together with lovely subdued lighting. The service was informal, professional and friendly and the food was really delicious and beautifully presented.
It's our 4th holiday visit in 2 years, it's our go to place when in Dartmouth.
Everything was perfect...nice place for many options. Come back soon...from Germany
Lovely warm welcome, great food and excellent service. My daughter said her mussels were the best she had eaten in a long while.
Fabulous in every respect.... food, service and atmosphere all very good.
Top quality food & drink.
Can’t fault this place.
Shall be coming back
We had a fabulous meal with exceptional service at Bayards Cove Inn! It was our Ruby Anniversary, and the staff made us feel so special, welcoming us with a glass of pink "fizz" on our arrival! Such a special meal in a special place! Thank you so so much!
Excellent service and food will definitely be returning.
Lovely pub and amazing food and service. Would happily eat here every night. And the lemon drizzle cake was to die for!
Super evening. Staff very attentive. Slight problem with 1 meal. Very quickly resolved. All other food delicious.
I can really recommend Bayards Cove Inn .
We had dinner and breakfast there - the food quality was amazing and the staff very friendly!
Lovely place. Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and the food was excellent.
We were there on 13 June - the crew of servers were very helpful and cheerful, the food was great and the Tarka larger was well received! Also loved the gin fizz cocktail.
Really great food - restaurant standards rather than a pub. Excellent fish freshly caught each day
My husband had been to Bayards Cove before and had commented about how great the veggie selection was and reasonably priced so not quite sure why the options have dropped and prices have jumped up for what is essentially pub fare rather than restaurant level. Starters were large but pricey and £13 for a veggie burger.. bit steep. Something is not quite right ... atmosphere and staff lovely. For tourists that may only come once ... but for locals that want to come again and again something has to change, I think.
Lovely restaurant . Had a delicious meal that was beautifully presented and excellent value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much have booked again to go before we return home.
Lovely venue, reasonable food and excellent service with friendly staff
Great ambience, great service, great food, great vibes and good value.
Would be hard pressed to find a better meal in Dartmouth. Highly recommended.
The feel of the place is immediately welcoming with a nice buzz without being noisy. The staff were very friendly and interested in us as customers but not at all nosy.
The food was excellent, particularly the crab starter and the lamb koftas.
The prices are middling, not cheap but not silly either.
Overall a really nice experience and we will definitely go back
Always excellent with friendly helpful staff.
A really nice place to dine and slightly old-fashioned, which I like and prefer.
As always, had a fabulous meal at Bayards Cove Inn! The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.
The staff, food, service was fab, the only thing that ruined it was a large table nearby who were really loud and we couldn't hear each other talk across the table but that wasn't the fault of the staff.
Great place, good food. Very popular restaurant which was very busy.
Not a bad Sunday lunch, good quality, cooked quite nicely. It’s nice but not particularly high end. So if you want a reasonably priced good quality roast, you could do worse. Staff are very nice too.
table booked in the window - nice setting
Wonderful food especially the fish, good service and excellent wine. Lovely ambiance too making this an ideal dinner choice.
