Bayards Cove Inn
Absolutely love this place, it’s cosy relaxed and the food is spot on, staff are attentive and the service is fab. All round a prefect place for an evening out with friends
We were staying for the weekend and eat on the second evening. Food was excellent. Would highly recommend
Excellent service and attention to detail. The food was delicious and would get a 'Michelin star' from us.
Excellent NY eve meal. Reasonable price for special occasion.
All courses were excellent and the extras such as an amuse bouche, sorbet and cheese was very nice.
Food beautifully presented and staff explained each dish as given.
Would return and recommend too
Great atmosphere friendly staff proper cosy English pub/restaurant
What’s not to like 😀👍
We loved the relaxed informal atmosphere of this cosy restaurant. The baked Camembert, Moules and sticky toffee pudding were outstanding. The service was excellent. We will definitely return when we visit Dartmouth again. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.
Absolutely delicious food and fabulous ambiance. Staff are warm and friendly. Great value for money
Fabulous Sunday lunch, very welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere
Always love it here and travelled quite a way to have lunch with friends rather than go somewhere closer to home
Lovely cosy restauranrt. Great atmosphere, food and service!
Great atmosphere, food and service! Highly recommended.
Great cosy atmosphere and wonderful service. Greatly improved in the last year. A local gem.
Excellent food and fantastic service, would certainly return
We went for my birthday treat and were greeted very warmly by the staff who gave me a glass of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. We ate from the £20 supper club menu and had three absolutely delicious courses each. The staff were so lovely, and very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. All in all a truly wonderful experience and we thank you for this.
Fabulous service, lovely cosy pub. Would love to stay in their gorgeous rooms next time I visit.
Visited on Saturday evening with friends and were delighted with the friendly greeting and service. Neither were we disappointed with our meals and drinks which really hit the spot. This a charming old pub with great ambiance and perfect be for a relaxed informal evening out. Highly recommend.
excellent place for a family meal - sunday roast excellent. If you can manage to park in Dartmouth well worth the trip.
Excellent evening- great food, drinks and our server Charlotte was very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
This is our second visit and the first for our guests, all agreeing that it definitely won’t be our last.
Service was exceptional, made a special evening even better. All staff very friendly. Wonderful food, will be booking again on our next visit to Dartmouth. Thank you
Lovely place to eat, fabulous, friendly staff and food was great.
When we are next in Dartmouth it will be on our must go places
Excellent service, lovely food, great ambiance. Couldn’t ask for more.
Very friendly staff and the food was good. Slightly cramped restaurant and relatively small menu. Good meal out but nothing special
Lovely evening, great food and attentive service, will definitely go again!
Lovely food, cooked perfectly. Staff very attentive and helpful.
We often go to bayards for a coffee and cake but wanted to try the evening menu as it looked so good .We had a wonderful evening at bayards on Friday . Staff were attentive without being overbearing . Food was nicest I have had out for years !! Chicken was beautifully cooked amazing flavours , dauphinois was delicious as was sauce and carrots . Puddings delicious and a nice selection .Carafes of Water topped up without having to ask . Just small details but superb customer care . I liked the fact that 2 in party didn’t have coffee but they were bought one of the mini biscuits anyway and the fruit salad chew with the bill . Loved sitting in the window , wonderfully busy and terrific ambience . Recommended to everybody I meet and will certainly return hopefully very shortly .
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Thank you to the waitress who was so helpful and understanding.
Received a warm welcome. There for Sunday roast, only choice was beef which was served with pigs in blankets! red cabbage with sultanas! and roast potatoes with green veg, carrots and mash! on the side. Beef not great. Service very good, pleasant staff but food mediocre. Have had far better roasts elsewhere for less money. Would not have minded £15 a head for a good quality dinner, but sadly this was not!
Fab evening and really well run. Lovely food and staff just perfect.
A lovely meal with excellent service. We will be back.
We love this place, we have eaten here several times now and are never disappointed. The food and service were great and the atmosphere is very cosy, perfect for a romantic dinner for two! Understandably this place is very popular and booking is a essential.
Both the food and service were excellent. Standards have definitely improved in the last few months. Added back onto our list of favourite places to eat in Dartmouth.
Fabulous food and superb wine . The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Very good food and very friendly staff, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere we will definitely return
First class food, service, ambience, all round excellent.
We had an excellent evening at Bayards Cove Inn, it is set in a beautiful location. The food was exceptional and the staff were very courteous and professional, it was my husband's birthday and the host Tom presented him with a cake when we left which I thought was charming. When we visit Dartmouth again we will deffinateley be going back to Bayards!
Excellent food, well presented. Good value too. Wine list could have more options.
Waitress seemed a little overwhelmed when asking for little changes on the menu (dauphinoise rather than boiled potatoes), it is okay to say ‘Let me just check’, we would not have minded.
We did find the part of the restaurant we were seated in, a little dark, needed torch app on phones to help read the menu, then again it is 14th century building.
I would happily visit Bayards again, and recommend it to friends.
Fantastic food and service. Kids menu was good and they were great with kids too!
Smallish cosy restaurant in medieval building close to the quayside from which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to the New World via Plymouth. Nice atmosphere and service friendly and very helpful. Our starters included fried squid and baked Camembert. Both good Then two of us had chicken and three grilled plaice. My plaice was over cooked (a bit crumbly) but I let it go as I didn’t want to spoil the happy family occasion. I’ve subsequently been told - I don’t know whether it’s true - that the assistant chef cooks on Mondays, so perhaps it’s best to go on another day of the week.
Particularly pleased by the wine. Two bottles, one of Sauvignon, one of Merlot. Distinctly better quality for the price than in other similar Dartmouth restaurants.
Overall an enjoyable occasion only slightly marred by the experience with the fish.
The restaurant was recommended t us by friends who are regular visitors to Dartmouth, on their advise we booked ahead. The service was swift ad the food was very good. Would recommend.
Fantastic meal and lovely people
