LOVE going here!! Food is delicious and wonderful wine list. The service is amazing. A total hidden jewel.
My friend and I had the salmon Niçoise salad. It was outstanding! The service was also great. I highly recommend Braille!
There were just us, two other families, a waitress, and a couple of people in the kitchen. Not a surprise during COVID-19 pandemic on New Year's Eve. Calm jazz-like music, dim lighting, good American cuisine. And it was quiet! Just what I wanted. Four stars only because deserts were like from the nearest supermarket.
Love this place!
Nice ambiance for conversation and privacy. The wine selection is always novel and fun.
We love the chicken tacos and kale salad. My wife loves the tomato bisque. I always feel special after dining there.
The chef must have changed I guess. I usually order scallops risotto and it is fantastic. This time, scallops were slightly seared (not enough) risotto was dry, green been were dry, green salsa and corn were mixed together instead of as usual separated in little nest on the plate.
Creme brûlée which usually is the best in boston area was too cooked too dry like a brick in your stomach
Sorry but this time it was a real disaster
Not as good as other Nordstrom dining venues. Liked Blue Stove better.
The setting was nice and the noise level very low, perfect for two friends to have a conversation without having to scream. I ordered the duck on the Specials of the Night menu, and was told it was sold out. I thought that could have been said when our waitress brought us the menu and told us about the specials, granted this was a few days after New Year and they weren't any other customers but my friend and I. I then ordered the chicken cutlet. The plate was huge, but the chicken was dried, and not tasty, which was too bad for a place that seems to cater to high end clientele.
A nice getaway experience
Very nice--ambience, food, service. Very good that Nordstrom maintains the tradition of having a nice restaurant in its department store. Not only can one enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner there at a destination restaurant, but also one can enjoy a pleasant lunch with friends during a day of shopping at the mall.
Very tasty salad nicoise. My friend had the salad with shrimp, also very tasty. Great place to meet a friend for lunch.
Wonderful dining experience. Only criticism: more vegetarian options. Chef very willing to add cold hard-boiled eggs to salad. But a hot vegetarian option would be appreciated.
The portions were pretty small, the food was tasty though. The menu was limited and I had noted on the reservation that it was my father's birthday and there was not even a note of "Happy Birthday" from anyone let alone a tablespoon of ice cream with a candle in it.
Not great - dogs, babies and ok food
The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet meal. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The value for all of it is worth the visit.
Great food in quiet setting. But the prices are higher than comparable places. Only reason for 4 star rating.
Very good, as I have expected
Fresh ingredients, just-right portions, and balanced flavors characterized the food they served. Very satisfying!
It was great service & food .. portions were ok overall awesome place to enjoy a quiet meal
My water tasted really weird and I had to ask for a new one. Otherwise, the salad I had was fairly good.
The food was outstanding – interesting, different, delicious, nicely presented, and it happened to be quiet while we were there; however, there weren't many people there; so, I don't know what it would be when filled. Haven't had a better meal anywhere lated than here.
I'd been to Bazille several times for lunch, and it was always great, so I invited two friends for dinner this week. We all ended up getting the Steak Frites, and 2 out of 3 were perfectly cooked (med-rare) and delicious. The third was so well done, it was gray. My friend sent it back, which is always awkward b/c the other diners can either keep eating or wait and let their entrees get cold. It took quite a while for the re-fire, and when it finally came out, it was practically raw. My friend decided to just take it home, but we let the waitress know, and they ended up comping her a glass of wine instead of taking the meal off - which is what I feel they should have done. The other weird thing is that the place was empty, and by 8:00 we were the only guests there. Around 8:15, they started piling the chairs on the tables and turned the lights up - in other words, "Time to go, ladies." Tacky. Especially since the store (the restaurant is on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom's) doesn't close until 9. Oh, and they don't have a full bar, so no martini for me. Wah. I'd go back for lunch, but not for dinner.
As always, great place to meet friends for lunch, service was excellent and food is always yummy. Have to admit tho, still miss Blue Stove.
Wonderful meal and service for 5 people with 2 small children and a baby was perfect!
I have been to Bazille twice. The first time I went I was completely satisfied with the food, service and value. I went the other night and both the French dip sandwich and the burger were not available. We were there at 5:30 and I find in hard to believe they were sold out of both but neither were available. We were not told this before we placed our order. Once we chose our third dinner option which was a chicken dish we were in luck. The service and what we finally ordered was very good but on a Tuesday night at 5:30 I would thing the entire menu would be available.
Food was delicious and the service prompt.
I took my wife for Valentine's Day with another couple. Food was fantastic, and we ate every single scrap on our plates. Loved the scallops, deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, calamari, everything really. Dessert was a small notch below the rest, but still good. Service was attentive and helpful. A bit of a weird vibe, though, going thru a deserted Nordstrom's store to get to the restaurant (or when you need to use a bathroom).
Valentines day
Our overall experience was disappointing. To begin with, when we arrived, we were kept standing at the entrance, waiting to be acknowledged and seated for an inordinately long time, considering the restaurant was practically empty.
Our server was very nice, but her service was slow. On several occasions we had to repeat requests.
My meal was delicious, however, my husband’s steak (he requested it medium-rare) was very undercooked. We brought it to our server’ attention, and she returned it to be cooked further. He waited quite a while for his steak to be brought back to him , and unfortunately it was still undercooked! By this time I and the other diner in our party were practically done with our meals.
Our server and the manager(?) were very apologetic, and very graciously subtracted the cost of my husband’s steak-as well as our other party’s steak- from the bill. However, as much as we appreciated the gesture, the entire experience itself left us with a negative impression of Bazille, and we don’t see ourselves returning there.
We had lunch here on a busy Saturday, but arrived just before the rush started. Very convenient location. Our waitress was very nice and was very attentive. The Asian salads with chicken were so delicious and prepared how we each requested. It was my birthday, so upon my friend's request, our waitress brought me a slice of chocolate cake with a candle at the end of our meal. A surprise and special way to end our lunch. Will definitely come back again!
I enjoyed my dinner (on a very quiet Tuesday evening) with my friend at Bazille very much. We ordered the brussels sprout appetizer, which was excellent. We both got the salad with the shrimp and cilantro dressing - both appetizer and the dinner meal were very good. Service was pleasant and non-intrusive. Atmosphere was quiet (though it was early on a Tuesday evening). Overall a good experience. I would certainly go back and recommend to a friend.
We had a very nice lunch.
Had a lovely seat but the window for lunch. Burrata and tomato salad was fantastic.
I had been here in the past several years ago under Bluestone and really liked it but was disappointed with the menu and quality of the food on this visit. Calamari was very dry and tasteless...
Moms birthday
This is an excellent place to dine despite the fact that it’s actually a department store. Good food very well prepared, solid wine selection and excellent service. Don’t let nordstroms throw you, try it!
Excellent place for a quiet dinner and creative cuisine. Good wine list and great service.
Good food. Great service.
Four women friends had lunch during the week. Among us we had three different lunch salads (didn't share--two people ordered the same salad). All were superb. The crusty rolls were also excellent. It was quiet during the week, and they didn't rush us. Highly recommended.
Samantha, our waitress, was outstanding and made our luncheon especially pleasant. Thanks to Samantha. She’s exceptional!!
