Bea's of Bloomsbury Russell Square
I have a bit allergy and indicated that and they called before hand to make sure everything would be ready for our arrival. So thoughtful!
It is worth it to take an afternoon tea here : there is enough food to be full. You can even take a 'doggy bag' to take the leftovers.
The cakes, scones and sandwiches were good.
It was also pleasing for the eyes (edible decoration such as flowers).
Staff was helpful and always ready to answer questions.
Of course, tea was good and there were enough flavour choice.
I would recommend it to a friend 100% and I will be going there back without a doubt.
Had a wonderfull afternoon tea (with a glass of prosecco). Really enjoyed it and when in London again definitaly will come back.
Service was good
Food for afternoon tea was ok.
Guiness cake was outstanding!
No AC, so on the day we went the place was too warm.
Pleasant. Good sandwich and great selection of cakes. Comfy seats.
Outstanding service! Very friendly straff and best pastry you can imagine.
Best gluten free afternoon tea we have had! Staff were attentive and the food was delicious
Hele leuke en toffe locatie, zeer vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten: kortom een TOP adresje
Bea's in Russell Square was lovely! My family of six repeatedly thanked me for booking an afternoon tea because they enjoyed it so much and my daughter kept asking if we could go back. The food was amazing and whereas I am gluten free, they provided me with my own tower of treats, all gluten free. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - really genuine people. The only drawback was the heat. The sun was shining right into the storefront and the place was on the warm side. Some ceiling fans or a/c would make Bea's of Russel Square absolutely perfect. That said, I would happily go back in a minute as would everyone in my family, when we next visit London.
Amazing food and fantastic service! Thanks so much!
The venue is lovely, but I felt the quality of the afternoon tea was lacking - especially the sandwiches which were very dry around the edges. The cakes were good with the exception of the scones which were almost burnt. It is a very average afternoon tea and I felt disappointed with what we are served. Service was good, staff attentive and the location lovely, however, I wouldn't recommend or go back.
Had a lovely time at Bea’s of Bloomsbury. The food was delightful and the service even better, such charming ladies. I would recommend this place to anyone that visits London.
Delicious and affordable afternoon tea! Everyone was friendly and the shop was beautiful. I really enjoyed my time and would highly recommend it
very good service but sandwiches were not good at the tea time
We enjoyed our remarkable meal under such a good environment. We will recommend our friends to have meal in the restaurant.
Went for Mother’s Day afternoon tea, not very good value for money. Service was great, but in terms of the food, probably better just ordering something off the menu. Been to Bea’s before at another location and was very happy with the afternoon tea experience and thought I would try the Russell Square location, being the new flagship store. Would not recommend the afternoon tea, especially as I love the scone’s and you only get one plain.☹️
Absolutely lovely little place with a great menu and atmosphere. Fantastic gluten free options (as a coeliac this makes me so happy!!) and they kindly allowed us to take some bits home to my mamma who was too poorly to attend our meal!
Went to afternoon tea! Loved the gluten free option for my sister!! The scones were amazing and the service was great. Would definitely book it again!
Best experience at Bea’s. Great experience and the service was fabulous. Will come back on our next London visit.
Poor service (woman on her phone and toilet with a dirty plunger in a clear plastic bag - yuck). Nice cakes but a limited range (lots of cup cakes and loaf cakes but not slices of cake).
Staff were disorganised and quite slow, food was pretty dry and tasteless (cupcake and scone). Overall decor was nice but layout of tables were quite squashed and no background music
The food was good and the staff was incredibly nice.
The Service was terrible with the table not being ready, no cutlery being provided without asking twice after the afternoon tea food had already been served and a very confrontational and crass member of staff who appeared to be the manager coming over when we had a query regarding whether they provide a top up on sandwiches.
This is an overpriced, bargain basement afternoon tea service with dry bread, very average cup cakes you can get better quality at in supermarkets for a pound or two and the only item on the afternoon tea service that appeared to be fresh was the scones which were actually nice.
Not at all worth £30 let alone the time to visit. Best to spend a little more at a reputable hotel afternoon tea.
Loved the decor and the food was really good. We loved the Carrot cake 😁
The service was extremely poor. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Was an unpleasant experience and I do not recommend it.
They sat us early and were so accommodating for GF
Service is questionable - due to the set up you walk in and wonder whether it's counter or table service. No one seemed to notice we'd arrived so I went up to the counter to ask and then we were seated although they did try to tell us we were having afternoon tea, despite calling you in advance to ask if you wanted the afternoon tea or normal menu. 15 mins later we'd not been given water or a menu - went to ask and was told they were about to bring one. 15 mins for no one to talk to you feels a bit too long. We ended up helping ourselves to water. And when my tea arrived and I asked about milk, I was told they'd bring some but no milk ever appeared.
The brunch itself (we had the beetroot hummus with avocado and poached egg) was lovely. Could have been a bit warmer but it was good and well priced. The afternoon tea didn't look as high quality as I'd expect considering they say the cakes are baked off site specially in their bakery and then delivered to the cafe.
Finally, I think you need to book. They turned people away even though there were empty tables, so something to bear in mind. I didn't see anyone pop in to get anything to go either.
Great for a catch up with a friend (on the basis that service provided is minimal) but don't expect it to be quality service that you might expect from other plans with a £30+ afternoon tea menu.
Bea's was a fantastic afternoon tea experience. We were looking for a more casual way to enjoy an afternoon tea during our visit to the UK and everything Bea's presented us was beautifully displayed and tasty. It's an adorable and pretty little bakery worthy of photos and selfies to share with friends. Great value for what we got, lovely relaxed environment. Service and accommodation of allergens was on point - very nice and bright staff.
Lovely atmosphere, great clean decor. Excellent service and the brunch was delicious. Very good value too.
The new space that Bea's have on Southampton Row is lovely! A great place to relax with friends or to get some work done over cake and coffee. Delicious baked goods and drinks in a calm setting.
Really nice, if very flowery, vibe in here. Good food and great service too.
A lovely and affordable afternoon tea. Great place to take out of town visitors that are Anglophiles.
