Becketts is a distinctively unique venue housed inside 2 beautiful Grade II listed buildings. The owners are award-winning developers who took more than 2 years to meticulously bring back to life these most delicate, 200 year old townhouses.

    Went early as you got 2 cocktails for the price of 1 that did not happen and cocktails were expensive My pork chop was tough and had to ask for a steak I knife to cut it Staff were very helpful

    The venue is very nice although the tables are quite small and the staff were excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the wine list. The menu is very limited regarding main courses. Our starters were excellent and we anticipated the mains to be the same standard. However, the portions are over generous and the flat iron steak was inedible. Such a cut of meat should not be served as it is impossible to guarantee the quality of the finished cooked steak. Would I recommend, doubtful, as the food does not live up to the expectations promoted on the website.

    Menu is small unless you want steak or burgers. Food is good and well presented. Be careful if offered water as you will be charged extra. Service was efficient and friendly.

    Excellent evening for partner’s birthday. Service was brilliant and the menu choices available were to our taste. Absolutely lovely, and we will definitely be back for more! Thank you for a superb dining experience.

    We found Beckett's on a best for vegetarian food site and it certainly didn't disappoint in that regard. The menu gave great choice for all tastes and we chose the fish of the day (sea bream) and the vegetarian carrot dish. Side dishes are extra but serving size is good two. The cocktails were expertly mixed and delicious and the service was attentive and staff knowledgeable about the menu. We would definitely recommend Beckett's for a special occasion and we are certainly booking again for another evening.

    A great find, every dish we had was very good & the mains were simply outstanding. Pappardelle pasta with nduja and prawns delicious, sea bream special with a delicate asparagus risotto and I think flashes of a strawberry based coulis? Inspired. Friendly service. Sensibly priced for food of this quality. Definitely would recommend.

    My Birthday dinner with the hubby! I spontaneously booked this for an early dinner, and didn’t realise we were just in time for the 241 cocktails 🍹 Well they are just delicious!!! Chilli margaritas and the beckets take on a French martini are an absolute must!! Starters we shared some breads & olives, although there was a slight confusion- we ordered one lot and was give Two then charged for both… we also had the belly pork bites which are worth the trip in its self!! Mains we had the jack the lad burger and the maple pork! Both just delicious! It would be nice if the burger was served with some peas or salad or something to add a little health- also with the grills too having some steamed veg to accompany it would be a nice touch than just fries & sautéed onion & tomato. We will be back as always one of our favourite places in Portsmouth 🌊 ⚓️🥂

    Becketts is pretty restaurant with great lighting and music. The food was great and the Servers were kind. When we attended there were delays with the food being served to us. There was a longer gap between the starters and mains. The Servers apologised for this. Luckily for all, we were in no rush and were ok to wait. They should not then try to rush us eating by asking if we wanted dessert as the kitchen was about to close! Food was fabulous though. Thanks.

    Father’s Day celebration lunch was a real treat yesterday. The food and service were exceptional. Nothing to fault as the attention to detail was fabulous. Thank you to the chef and all the staff, my Dad loved the experience.

    Food was nice. A cocktail served with blue salt rum to the glass looked great but subsequently threatened to turn everything it dripped on blue, so watch your clothes. I found the service good to begin with, even if verging on the patronising with many “young lady” and “darling” comments thrown around by more than one of the staff. A wine order was forgotten and it proved quite hard to get the bill and pay at the end. Started well, need to work on consistency.

    Came for brunch over the jubilee weekend. They had pitchers on the menu and we asked to have pimms which they kindly agreed to even though it wasn’t on the menu. I had the Nutella pancakes for food and they were delicious. We then went through the 2-4-1 cocktail options! DJ playing which was great. We had a fab time!

    First time visit to the restaurant following recommendation from a good friend. The food was outstanding, presentation superb and generally thought value for money. My only negative was the longer than expected wait from being seated to ordering our meals....and there was only 4 tables dining at that time, but overall I would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

    This was our third visit as previously we have really enjoyed it here. Sadly tonight it was poor, pre dinner drinks took forever to arrive as there was only one person behind the bar. Cocktails were taking priority so our beer and glass of wine had to wait! My wife’s had the cheese soufflé to start which was double baked, sadly it was freezing cold and didn’t taste of cheese. Our steaks arrived but were on the wrong plates so those ordering Filet got flat iron, that said one of the Filets was inedible and was sent back, we suspect it was not a Filet at all as the knife wouldn’t go through it. This meant one of our party then had to wait for his meal to be re cooked so ate after the rest of us! Our side dish didn’t arrive, the waiter telling us the kitchen forgot to cook it! Follow up drinks ordered at the table had to be requested twice as again they didn’t arrive. We were early diners, the restaurant was not busy. A catalogue of errors has left us feeling disappointed I doubt we will ever visit again.

    Nice ambiance and food ok but nothing special. Service from the kitchen was slow -starters after about 30 mins and mains were over an hour.
