Beef & Lobster - Temple Bar
With fewer distractions we concentrate our efforts on training amazing staff and sourcing the best of Irish beef and lobster, all grilled to perfection over charcoal. Tuck in, dive in, we reckon you’re going to love it.
Food was too greasy. Burger was overcooked.
Crab meet toast was tasty as was goat cheese.
Atmosphere was... average.. it was basically empty
We were eating out for my husbands birthday and he fancied steak so we picked here as it's their thing. It was a very busy saturday evening so it was bustling and quite loud. To their credit the waiting staff were great...friendly and super efficient. What let it down was we felt some of the food was a bit disappointing. The prawn and lobster fritters didn't particularly taste of either and my husbands rib eye steak was a bit over charred. On the other hand the duck wings are absolutely delicious, as are the brownie sunday and the profiteroles. Oh and the truffle fries are to die for! Overall we had a,lovely experience which was as much about the lovely staff as the food. I would say the disappointing food may have been due to how busy it was.
Always amazing from the food to the staff who go above and beyond for you. My favourite restaurant in Dublin. Outstanding!!!!
I had the lobster roll with the sauce on the side and duck wings for starter. The wings were nice but the lobster roll wasn't amazing. The next day I woke up with a rash all over my face that still hasn't cleared. It's definitely from the fatty sauce. I would go back but steer away from the roll. Also the waiters were checking in on us every 5 mins which felt a bit too much.
Perfect for brunch. Highly reccomend the buttermilk chicken it ticks every box
Food was excellent as was location at edge of Temple Bar.. have been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a long time and it didn’t disappoint .. the surf and turf was amazing !
The location is pretty good. The ambiance was great. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the menu and very unwilling. The menu on the app and the website are completely different than the one in use. The manager although very accommodating didn't seem willing to be helpful to patrons. The food was fair but unexceptional at best. My steak was very dry and cold and very mushy but the shrimps in sauce were very good. I ended up trying the lobster as well and it seemed too cooked at some places and hurried in others, very much flavourless which in fairness could have been out of season. The lemon sauce provided was also very dull and flavourless. I have heard the burger are pretty good though. I would not recommend anything else here.
Enjoyed my experience at Beef and Lobster, staff were attentive, drinks very nice and it's very good value for steak. Only thing that let it down was the steak was advertised as dry aged, but got no flavour or potency of a dry ages steak, felt like I was eating a regular steak.
It just is not my type of restaurant. The food was OK, but I have had better. Very noisy and chaiotic from my point of view, but then I am sure there are those who like it very much.
Went with a group over christmas- really disappointed, they try everything to get money out of you. Online menu is a lot cheaper than the Christmas menu, they completely rip you off only giving you the options of the €25 2 course menu. If you ask for one course they aren't impressed and charge you more than the online menu with a flat rate of €15 per course.
They were also very pushy with the bottomless brunch mimosas.
The food was exceptional! The flavor was bursting through the food; it is quite pricy as you would expect from sea food and steak. As good as the food was and it’s selling price high - I wish the portion size was bigger. The main course felt like a starter dish. Lobster roll was on the main course menu and it was literally lobster that looked like cole slaw on bread. Wasn’t very impressed with that portion size. It cost as much as crab claws and prawns.

It’s a tale of two feelings really. Firstly I have to say that Beef and Lobster was one of only a dozen places that had a table for 7 available at the end of November, this should have been a hint. I was really happy with the staff who were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself is bright, well decorated and buzzy, a nice place to be. The menu is small but good with lots of choices. The starters were ok, the lobster fritters were a lowlight, mushy disappointing blobs with so little lobster one would need a microscope to find it.
The big issue was the mains. I’m a hungry guy and decided to have a steak and a lobster, it’s a good job I did because the steak which came out was disappointingly small and worse, badly cooked. I wouldn’t be surprised if they precook all their steaks and reheat once ordered. It had the texture of a recently defrosted piece of meat that had been oven cooked and then seared. Disappointing and without the nice pepper sauce it would have been tough to finish. For a steak at this price I want completely surprised though. The same can’t be said for the lobster. I asked for a small one as they charge by the 100g but was told they only had one size. The lobster that came out was priced at €48 and I may as well have gone to Lidl and bought myself 4. It was small, tasteless and overcooked to the point that the meat stuck inside the claws and wouldn’t budge.
I won’t be back, it’s cheap food at high prices and for a place that prides itself on its lobster it needs to seriously up its game.

Enjoyed the food here very much, in particular the lobster. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. There's not many places in the city serving lobster, but this has to be the best. The decor and ambience is quite modern and trendy.

I had the lobster, my wife had the beef Wellington special. They only had large lobsters, which was fine with me.
The food came out fairly quick, but my wife's Wellington was way overcooked and had to go back. Much better on the second serving.
What a lovely place to have my birthday brunch! The service was great our waiter was very attentive without being intrusive. The food was very tasty and it was such a relaxing place to sit and enjoy our bottomless Bellinis! I would not hesitate to recommend it and planning our return visit soon!
The food was not good. The cut of steak was tough for a filet and the lobster was chewy. We ate less than half and we were starving after a long day of touring. The waiter had a good sense of humor and was pretty attentive. He noticed we barely ate and asked if everything was alright. We said yes because we were not interested in round two. We tipped normally as that is what we do as it’s not the servers fault when the meal sucks. New rule, steak and lobster is not the same as in the USA. I’m not talking Maine either. Don’t go, you will be happy that you didn’t.
Great food and atmosphere a little pricey as they don’t include a side with the main. I think a bowl of chip of a salad would be too much to ask when paying €39 for lobster! But they think it is so that’s an extra €4 but can’t fault anything else! Very tasty and friendly staff

Absolutely the best service I’ve had in Ireland. The food was great - maybe a tad pricey - but very worth it. But seriously, staff knocked it out of the park. Were available and there without hovering, I didn’t have to wait for anything. Just absolutely stellar.
Food was great apart from a steak that was ordered Well Done but was bloody in the middle. An expensive place!
Lovely staff and food and atmosphere. The only negative point was that the bottomless mimosas and bellinis had far too much mixer compared to alcohol so felt they were more ‘orange juice with a dash of prosecco!’ But overall had a great time.
The food and the servive was excellent. We didn't understood at the bill time, there was 10% taxes more but we where juste two people.. and my friend has paid by credit card, an another 10% for the tips has been taken (they asked but my friend thought that it was the taxes).. a bit expensive at the end. We returned two days later for our last diner, no taxes and no tips were taken.. but a very good address indeed, just be carefull at the bill time ;)
This definitely doesn't live up to the dinner (which is very good) - this however felt cheap and really the food was not up to scratch. Both my friends eggs were under cooked (raw white). I couldn't have the special starter on the brunch even tho their was items on the brunch that were more expensive (so made no sense) The chorizo start was completely tasteless and to be honest so was the main. Also the drinks kept being filled up way to high in the glass (disaster was bound to happen) and it did. My drink spilled all over the table by the waitress who rather than clean it up continued to fill other tables glasses leaving me to have to ask several times for it to be cleaned up then ask for more napkins then ask for a fresh glass - really the servicewasn't up to scratch at all - but the dinner is very good but I'm turned off now so won't be returning

Had dinner on Saturday night. Great food - we enjoyed just what the name suggests. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was busy. Price was reasonable. If I had to say anything critical, the music was a bit too loud for an old guy like me, whilst the wine list could be a bit more extensive.

Went there to celebrate my sisters birthday at a nice place while in Dublin. The Food was good but a bit pricey, ala carte menu and charged for water and bread. The service was slow, they called it all hands on board, but it was difficult to get their attention and I noticed one person walked out after seating. The decor was very nice, but it was very loud so not the place for a quite meal.

Very much enjoyed the experience at Beef & Lobster. It is on the pricier side, but the food is truly worth it. We had the special and 3 sides and absolutely loved everything. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend to others.
Unfortunately they had no record of our booking with OpenTable but we were accommodated. Staff had very little English which (who appeared to be) the manager seemed aware of and checked on us a few times.
Very touristy venue, not what we expected from outside.
Got the surf n turf. Steak was overdone, small fillet compared to what you'd get in many other restaurants. Nice chargrilled taste otherwise. Prawns were nothing special, garlic butter didn't pack any punch, pepper sauce was the usual. Nothing stood out about the food. Side salad was actually the best bit. Great dressing on it.

Came here Friday night for my birthday, has been on my list for awhile now so was delighted to get a chance to go. Ordered bread and dips to start unfortunately they never came out it was only when the waitress passed our table after about 15 minutes that she asked did we get our bread, when we said no she apologised and went to get it, just as she put it on the table we were brought our steaks!!!! So we recieved starters and mains together, I wasn't impressed but the guy that brought us our steak was really apologetic and in fairness it was very busy and these things do happen, he also took it off the bill. Our steaks were beautiful cooked to perfection and the truffle and parmesan fries were also delicious. All in all a great meal, my brother is coming home from Japan in July I have not seen him in 2 years and I have promised him a trip to Beef and lobster so I'm hoping it's as good second time round. The only downsides is charging for tap water and service a bit slow, wouldn't turn me of returning I just won't be ordering water next time!!!
First time there, am a regular customer of Bon Appetit and Cleaver East, so was wondering what Beef & Lobster would be like. I was not disappointed, its up to Oliver Dunnes usual very high standards.
Was dying to try this place but have to say wasn't great.They had no crab claws so I got "extra" prawns and we asked for truffle parmesan chips and got regular and a wrong drink order.Overall I was so looking forward to this quirky place but big let down sad to say.
