Bellaria Restaurant & Wine Bar
From street level Bellaria looks like a simple Italian restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The best seats in the house are by the wide windows where you can sit and watch the world go by.
However, a few steps below and guests are transported to a whole other world. Bellaria’s basement is straight out of a fairytale – its bare stone walls, with their arches, nooks and crannies complemented by chandeliers, mirrors, and low lighting, enhance the atmospheric ambience. It is the ideal setting for romance and a real surprise to everyone who discovers it.
Sophisticated and contemporary, our menu makes good use of authentic Italian ingredients to produce elegant and creative dishes ranging from pastas and risottos to steaks and fish. To complement our delicious food we have created a long list of excellent wines.
Bellaria offers private dining rooms for small groups 4-10 people, or larger private parties for up to 55 people (seated). The basememt area consists of 2 private alcove areas and a VIP table for 4 situated in the far corner. The exposed brick walls and low lamp lighing make an inviting atmosphere.View Private Dining Details

Had a wonderful time and great food for a great price. Friendly service and definately a nice atmosphere.
Just fantastic! Great service, delicious food, enjoyed the fresh pasta and their seafood casserole was amazing.
The sharing platters are amazing, great selection of cheese and meats. The wines we tried were all great and we were given a bit of info about each of them.
It’s quite informal and after giving you a bit of info on the wine completely leave you to it until you’re ready for the next one, service felt a bit slow but I think they were waiting for a signal that you wanted the next one rather than bothering people or speeding you through which was nice.
Sadly the restaurant have a few too many conditions that make the 50% off the menu offer worthwhile. It’s also not clear which main/starter is available to qualify for the offer ie that the two must be taken together from the a la carte or set menu or whatever. The garlic bread was absolutely drenched in butter- really greasy. The Sardinian small pasta with sausage, tomato and pecorino cheese was nothing to write home about - quite bland in fact. The sausage meat was scant and like bits of mince. When we questioned the incorrect bill, the waiter adjusted in grumpily. Probably best to go elsewhere as there are plenty of others in the area.
Went to Bellaria for my birthday with a group of 16 friends. It was great and I'd definitely recommend it - the food was delicious, the service great, the atmosphere fun, and we had the opentable deal of 50% off all starters and mains which made the meal very good value.
We booked last minute as we were stranded in London due to trains and it was a very pleasurable experience. The staff were extremely attentive. The food was delicious with some interesting seafood dishes.
Lovely restaurant. Great food and friendly staff. Just great.
It was my mums birthday, and Jessica and the wait staff made SUCH an effort to make sure she had everything she wanted. I couldn’t have asked for more, we will DEFINITELY be back!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars all round!
Essential lunch place. Loved it.
Excellent service. Menu typical Italian dishes but with good variety. Wonderful Prosecco with lemon sorbet to start.
Had a truly wonderful night here, the food was utterly delicious. The staff are very accommodating and attentive, we had a private area which was fab. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
Excellent and friendly service. It was a lovely birthday meal with friends and we appreciate the restaurant's hospitality very much.
The food here was AMAZING! Really full of flavour and the pasta was fresh. A little on the pricey side, but the service and food was so good, it was worth it. Looking forward to coming back for my group booking to celebrate a special occasion.
We flew in and out of London on our 2 week travels. The last day of our first time there we ate there and it was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything! After 5 countries, we had one night back in London before our long trek home and we went here. This was one of our favorite, home like feels with great food!
We took the offer of a starter and main course with 50% off. When we got there we were given the menu and ordered from it. When presented with the bill it was full menu with no discount. I checked and they said yes you have a discount due !! I knew this. They then didn’t discount all the food but rather certain dishes saying their signature dishes are not included. When I read the small print they are correct. However it’s v v v misleading. Also one of the mains didn’t turn up. I felt really misled and hate having a debate about a bill in a busy restaurant. All in a bad night out. Never again
Really enjoyed our visit. Friendly staff, good selection of cuisine and nice choice of wine. prices are realistic, nice settings. Would definitely recommend.
I came back to this lovely family run restaurant after 2 years. The manager recognised me and we had a nice table by the window. We booked the pre-theatre meal with unlimited Prosecco. The wine was free flowing and the glasses continually topped up. I had Bruschetta ‘classic style’ with tomatoes, garlic and red onion and mozzarella for starters. Then Salmon, salad and french fries for main course and Tiramasu for dessert. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding again! I can't wait until my next meal there! Thank you again Bellaria!
What can I say, a return visit to this fabulous restaurant. Every time we are tempted by a different dish to try and they certainly don't disappoint. The staff are always attentive and courteous, we have recommended this restaurant to many friends and all say the same. Can't wait to return again!
By finest one of the best meals I have ever had in London.
The staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The fish sharing pot was yummy..The pasta I had for my main course was just enough and the tiramisu was out of this world..! Really enjoyable experience.
Just terrible food
Second visit, equally as good as the first. Good quality inventive menu that leaves you spoilt for choice.
Customer service was amazing while being a part of a relaxing environment. The manager came out to make sure our food was as expected. Everything is home made and this is a restaurant you must try if you’re looking for a good meal.
There are a lot of options in Fitzrovia when having lunch/dinner. We chose Bellaria because of the menu and the variety of dishes. In addition, the service was excellent!
The restaurant was very accommodating as we had a member of the party on a very restricted diet and this was accommodated successfully. The person running front of house had a good sense of humour and was attentive without being obtrusive - he helped make a very good evening. The service was a little slow at times hence the 3 stars.
Just a brief review to confirm that this place served me a magnificent Seafood casserole today. Staff were friendly and efficient and coffee very good also.
Dinner was excellent especially the meat quality, we ordered a ribeye steak . The place is very nice as the service ! I really suggest this restaurant
My bf and I was in many places here in London in the past week. But food here was absolutely fantastic. Ravioli was a dream and spaghetti with clams was tasty new thing to try. I recommend this restaurant because it's good, not that expensive despite the fact that it's next to Oxford circus
(5 min walk)
I was really looking forward to evening. It had good reviews and was meant to be a romantic Resturant.
I was very disappointed with the experience save for the service. All the waitresses were very kind and helpful. The food was average the place very tired. Most disappointing. Even though there was a 50% off the price of one ordered a starter and a main course it still wasn’t great value or money for the reasons stated above.
It has the potential of being a great Resturant but it lacked it on Friday night when we went. It needs complete renovation.
It is the first time I have written such a negative review of a dinning experience.
Excellent food and atmosphere! Homemade pasta is to die for and service was outstanding. Highly recommend
Have been there quite few times over the last couple of years, food always has been good, service is excellent as well. Have seen the owner a number of time there as well and he is always welcoming and makes an effort to find out about his clients and seek feedback for his food.
Touch overrated on a Wed night. Perhaps misses some of the atmosphere not being in the cellar.
It was my birthday party. This is an amazing venue to have a private dining. I like white wine there!! Love it!! Xx i will visit soon
The overall restaurant is wonderful, the food was delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere great! However, this review is geared towards people with the London Pass Dining Card. This restaurant was one of the restaurants that offers a discount if you have the dining pass however nowhere in the book does it say you have to let the restaurant know ahead of time that you have the card. It clearly states to call the restaurant for OTHER restaurants but NOT for this one. Which is why when I showed up they wouldn't' accept my card. Also, I reserved through Open Table with a "Special Promotion" which was to get a free appetizer as long as you order an entree. I kept trying to tell the waiter that and even showed him on my phone that the restaurant was offering this special promotion but he wouldn't accept it. We ordered a lot of food on top of drinks and only got 2 proseccos on the house. At the end of our dinner, a girl at a different table booked through open table and told the waiter about the same promotion I had just argued about except he actually gave her a discount. The service could improve in situations like mine but overall the food was delicious and the ambiance was great.
Great once agin. Lovely food especially the risotto.
Brilliant for lunch.
We had a birthday for 15 people, and despite changes in numbers near the time the staff were excellent- friendly, convivial and sharp. The wine was lovely and the food was very good too- we had the 50% discount on starters and mains so it was great value!
Excellent food, a bit pricey but worth it. Very good service too
I have been going to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. The owners are extremely friendly and try to please you. Appetisers, pasta and main courses are all excellent, not to mention the sweets. The wine card is fully stocked with the best.
The menu was a delight with wonderful flavours and so well presented. Fish and meat courses were equally good and the pasta cooked exactly as it should be (why can't I do this in my kitchen?) and the sauces superbly complementing the pasta.
What this place demonstrates is that if you are willing to go off piste and try somewhere not in the main tourist drag, you can be rewarded with a memorable and delicious experience. Definitely one to return to next time.
Always good food and service. Great local restaurant-one my favourites
