About Belted Burgers
The inspiration behind the BELTED brand comes from the picturesque Galloway countryside, where a backdrop of seasonal colors is complimented by the classic black and white of the Belted Galloway Cow.This distinctive and unique animal was the perfect match for our BELTED brand as we too are both distinctive and unique.
We use ALL the prime cuts of our Galloway raised beef to create our unique BELTED patty (as far as we can find out we are the only Company in the world doing so).
Provenance is massively important to us and we are proud of the fact that our meat is traceable and we know just how the food on your plate got there.
FROM FARM TO FORK.

We have been named as 'The BEST BURGER in Scotland' in 2017 by Tam Cowan, the Sun, and also we have been HITLISTED by The List as 'One of the best places of its kind to eat' ! Belted Burgers Ratings and Reviews
I had been looking for restaurants around Edinburgh that served gluten free/wheat free foods and this was on the list to try. Highly recommend it. It was very quiet on the day we booked for lunch which is a pity because it is very good. Server was excellent with my friend and I explaining items on the menu. Would recommend it and will try it again.
This was our first visit and all members of our small group were impressed with the menu. We were more than satisfied with our meal - both in quality and quantity. A special mention for the range of beers on offer, sometimes these can often be limited in a restaurant, but this is not the case in Belted Burgers. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. I think we will be back.
Good selection of burgers and beers to choose from. Started with some haggis balls and a small nachos to share. All in all, good quick service and good food at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back and try some of the other burgers. The location is bang in the centre of town so great for going out for a small night cap afterwards!!
We were all a bit underwhelmed with the burger given all the story behind where the meat is sourced. Above average but certainly not edinburghs best. Staff great, friendly, knowledgable and a definite asset but on a personal note wine menu bit poor, not much choice and cocktail for my taste poorly executed. Too much egg in the amaretto sour and not enough sour.
In a competitive burger market there are more to try before I'd return.
This is my 2nd visit to Belted Edinburgh. Have to say I was very disappointed this time. It was very cold and felt I couldn’t enjoy my meal cos I was cold and so was my friend who sat with her jacket on. The guy who served us seemed more interested in checking himself out in the mirror and took forever to bring a portion of ketchup. We ordered our drinks on arrival and although it was quiet again seemed to take forever for them to come. Unfortunately belted I don’t think I will be back, sorry
Overall the visit was good, we booked a table so there was no problem getting seated, kids menu available also, which we weren't expecting. For a table of 3 adults and 2 kids, waiting over 30 minutes for our order is not good enough. The food was okay, nothing special and definitely not the best burgers in Scotland as claimed by Tam Cowan apparently. The serving staff were efficient.
Unfortunately our experience wasn't a good one. Waited over an hour to be served our meal. Dissapointed as no communication as to why the delay or even to update us there would be a delay in being served our food. Friends who were with us had been several times before without any issues but were of the same opinion it was terrible. Something obviously went wrong in the kitchen to cause the delay and hence ruined our experience.
For a restaurant that specializes in burgers, I was disappointed. The pulled pork was fine and the accompaniments that goes with the burgers, but the burger itself was over-cooked (I have had better cooked burgers from McD's). This applied to the whole table. There are better restaurants that serve juicier burgers than this place and I would prefer to go to them first.
As for service, well that was virtually non-existant. After our starters we requested more drinks. The server said he would be back. 15 minutes later we had to call someone else over to get our drinks order taken. Starters took just under an hour to arrive with the main course after the 90 minute mark. Now I like dining where you are not rushed, but this was not good. When the main course was being served, some of the main courses arrived, then the server went and cleaned another table, before the final main courses were delivered to the table.
Has the potential to be a great place, but not the way it was run that day and not with burgers cooked the way they were.
The place was busy because of the Rugby, but if you can't operate a restaurant when full, then there is a problem.
