Benihana at Leonardo Royal St Pauls
Didnt get the authentic Japanese feel. Restaurant was empty, food was average but the chef did put on a good show. A little disappointed as I expected a lot more.
Was a excellent night, service was lovely food was delicious. Definitely would recommend lovely place.
Good food, you get a lot for your money! So worth it
Incredible disappointed as have been to other Benihana’s and had a fantastic experience. We arrived early and weren’t allowed to sit down which was fine as we sat at the hotel bar. When we went back to be seated we were only told then they were short of chefs so no one would be cooking in-front of us... isn’t that why you go there?! There was quite a language barrier between us and the waitress but we soon found out they had NO sushi or sashimi!!! Had they had the courtesy to be honest and tell us beforehand we could’ve booked a different venue instead of wasting our evening which we were meant to be celebrating my boyfriends birthday. We left with no apology and will not be revisiting.
Would recommend for the experience
For food quality and price I wouldn’t go back
Very good good just abit to long to get everything done
Very good. Lovely chef, lovely staff, good environment and good vybez.
As our chef was cooking a huge blond hair was on the onions and courgette and he just removed the hair and carried on cooking. I and our guests were shocked!!!
No barman available - so no cocktails were allowed.
Asked for sake - not available.
Shared a table with a family of 2 kids when other tables were free.
The family were vegan which is fine - but next time if they express their dietary requirements please be more considerate. Especially as the chef had a hard time making everyone feel comfortable
No atmosphere, no knowledge, chef had no charisma.
Staff were rude, unfriendly and not at all welcoming. Unable to order certain items as there were only 2 staff.
Terrible. There's a reason it's always empty!
The food was not fresh at all but the service is good.
I love the food, the ambience, the staff and the restaurant as a whole was absolutely outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to any and everyone!! I cannot wait to come back
The prawn was over cooked, and two of my drinks were made incorrectly , i felt it wasn’t worth it food wise.
The food are lovely and great experiences for celebrating birthday with my bf and his dad! The chef that served us that night was really lovely and tried his best to accommodate our needs and asked if we enjoyed his live cooking performance ! By the end of the night, we were really full to the brim and my bf got a complimentary slice of chocolate birthday cake with a candle on ! Love it :)
Ps; I forgot to take the picture of some of the scenes and the picture of the slice of the birthday cake as we were enjoying the moments together :)
In summary, this is the place for you and others as well to experience Japanese cuisine and enjoy the cooking show right infront of you :)
The taste of prawns was terrible, they must put prawns in the special water which can make them to be crunch and salty which was really really bad! Awful experience!
Loved it great food great time
Chef was very kind and the waitress did not keep us waiting long - 10/10
A fantastic and entertaining evening with food that can't be faulted.
Entered not sure what to expect, left feeling very full knowing we'll be back.
Marcus made our night very enjoyable! One let down was we brought a bottle of wine that we drunk half of; after this another group on the table finished it while going to the toilet - Wine bottles are not placed next to you; instead are watched over by a waiter who missed this - Other than that, No issue at all and will recommend to anybody looking to go!
The food was horrible and the Waiter was not good on professional stuff and very dirty restaurant also food was raw and not cooked properly
Really like the ambience, talented chefs, menu choices and no fuss service.
Joint birthday celebration
The whole experience was amazing. The chef we had Micheal was so lovely and kept us laughing throughout our experience. The food was amazing and our waiter Lewis was lovely too. Will definitely be coming back with more people.
We loved our lunch experience! It was very special. The service was excellent and so was the food.
Superb food and evening
They were very kind and attentive to detail. The cook was entertaining the ambiance was nice. Portion sizes can be a bit smaller than anticipated, but you will leave full.
Loved it! Great experience and nice fresh tasting food. A little expensive but worth it.
Loved the experience and the food was delicious!
They delivered my birthday surprise request which was awesome. However the waiter did forget some of my order.
First time at Benihana and it was amazing.
It was my first time going to Benihana’s and was a lovely experience overall. Great food and entertainment. The chef was really nice and friendly. I would definitely go there again. Overall experience 9/10!!
First of all the service was extremely poor; we were not made to feel welcome and were told to wait before being seated despite there being numerous empty tables. Secondly the atmosphere was also lacking as once we were finally seated we were tucked away in a corner on a table by ourselves, which takes away from the experience of a teppanyaki table. Thirdly, and most importantly, we were very disappointed with the food quality. It was over seasoned and everything tasted like soya sauce - you could not distinguish one flavour from another. We essentially paid circa £80 for a plate of salt! Neither of us could finish our meals, and the salad and onion soup were frankly laughable.
Great service, great food and great entertainment. I would definitely come back!
I booked lunch at Benihana on Open Table specifying that I will be using my Open Table Dining Cheque. There was no notice whatsoever that Benihana does not accept the cheque nor did the restaurant call me to inform that they do not accept the cheque. When I explained this to the manager, he blamed it on Open Table and claimed that there was no such arrangement with Open Table. The POINT is this restaurant should have put a notice that they do NOT accept Open Table it has the DECENCY of informing the customers that they do not accept the cheque rather than adopting an indifferent attitude towards this and passed the blame to others. Open Table on the other hand should have checked carefully that those restaurants that do not accept their dining cheques do SAY so on their booking pages. This is misleading customers to say the least. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Awful service and no atmosphere
